I don’t know. I love my 8 Plus. Tempted by X. I might resist.
x features are great.....size....well....that's a different topic. LOL. Today was my last day to return it for a full refund. I know someone will need my phone eventually, so why not get that so I can get x plus.

That is happening everywhere around the world where Apple has stores.

Once you open the packing you can't seal it back so why is Apple worried?

If you open you can't return it, but what if you don't unwrap the packing?

How about accessories like phone cases? Why Apple is not accepting returns for those items? I actually don't have a big problem about phone returns but have a problem with buying a case whixh is not opened and not being able to return or exchange for another product.

I think you are conflating two things. Ill has a use tax, which is a tax on items that you have/should pay on out of state purchases (mostly internet) but that are used in illinois. It's basically a self reporting. Safe Harbor is something completely different relating to income and withholding taxes paid on an annual basis and reaching a similar amount to years prior.

Technically, for USE tax items one is still required to pay the use tax, but frankly for something picked up in OR, IL would never ever know.
Yes. I know. What Illinois estimates I spend out of state for use tax purposes is actually pretty close to what I do so I figure I’m good.

When I complete my income tax return TurboTax comes up with an estimate of what it thinks I owe in use tax. I use that as my “safe harbor”.

Don't really know about that. i was on the thought the return policy only applied to phones in general since those are the hot cakes of apple's revenue [usually]

I have a Note 8 in front of me that doesn't shift anywhere near what my X did. Its barely noticeable on the Note.
Of course it probably also has an overly saturated screen.

Samsung makes both screens. The X to Apple’s specs and the Note 8 to their own specs. Both are dealing with the same engineering limits and made different decisions. I’m pretty happy with Apple’s.

Ive never had a problem with any OLED screen. Ive owned more than a few. But the minute I powered up the X, I had issues with it. Saturated or not, my screen sucked. But when I returned it, I lined up 4 X phones in a row at the Apple Store (including the genius helping me new phone). All 4 had different color screens. Like dramatically different. Pinks, blues, yellows. It was somewhat embarrassing for Apple. A few people were standing around looking at the 4 phones lined up. All agreed they looked different, including the genius, who seemed a bit speechless after seeing it.

I have not noticed the same at all. Overall Apple is getting rave reviews for the iPhone X screen. I just returned my AT&T model for a Verizon model and the screens are identical.

This is what many don't seem to understand. Samsung manufactures the display for Apple based on their ordering. But Apple tunes the display accordingly to their algorithm based brightness, contrast, color gamut, etc.

Agree. The note 8 screen is incredible. Regarding comments of over saturation Samsung let you adjust the screen in a real way (not just colour filters over everything) so I can slide the reds down. Slightly more blue and boom I have clean whites and punchy colours along with those inky blacks. But a strong negative for me is the length of the phone is awkward. Testing continues...

Cost. And space grey - prefer the silver having seen both

I like it , though not £1350 worth. My 7 plus does the job fine .

Might pick one up later

Isn't Apple releasing the iphone X Plus soon?

It was news I read or saw on YouTube.
They might sell a 6.1 inch LCD phone right along with 2 versions of OLED screens. It won’t be called the X+ though. Probably the iPhone 9.

+1 on that.
I dont understand how people live with this. You have to look perfectly straight on it. Otherwise white gets blue.
Returned mine as well ... next generation has to solve this.
Meanwhile ordered an 8+ as a 7 replacement
It’s a problem with OLED screens even Samsung do that. Who looks at a phone at strange angles anyway.

For some it's any tiny movement that shows colour shifting which you pickup on easily so it becomes an obvious distraction. Not great when reading content.

This doesn't seem to be an issue on the Note 8 unless held at extreme angles so not really an oled issue, maybe an Apple calibration issue?

Don’t do it. Got my X on launch day - day 14 was yesterday - now back to the adult size phone 8 plus lol.

No seriously if you’re used to the plus size I’d stick with it till they come out with an X plus

When I first jumped from a 6 to 6plus it only took me 2 days to love the bigger phones. The X different story - 2 weeks and still thought it was too small. So returned it yesterday - I needed a new phone cause my 7plus battery was shot. So got an 8 plus and could not be happier.

Everyone is different tho just my experiences after getting so used to the plus size

I had the iPhone X for a week. Screen resolution is definitely a step up. I just couldn’t get used to the smaller (narrow) screen. I use my phone to watch videos while working out it's a downgrade for me. Also, having to look at your screen and then swiping up to unlock the phone is a bit of a drag. With touch ID, it's just one step.

Returning the X today and going to stick with the 8 Plus. I'll wait for the X Plus next year. Everyone who is upgrading from a 4.7 phone and are not fans of big phones, you will love the X!
