I just can't get this out of my head when I think of Ventura:

Ask a Portuguese person why they think it's not an adequate name. Depending of who you ask, they'll likely hate it or love it.

Yes, at least it gets a mention in this U2 song, which I always thought would make a great macOS commercial!
All I saw was YouTube Pride video?

Besides, that is Ventura Boulevard, which isn't talking about Ventura.

I wonder why not Santa Barbara.
Then why not Isla Vista or Goleta (just north of Santa Baraba.) Goleta is an important location to the father of Cydia. Saurik.

Apple may want to stand clear of that area.

Yeah Ventura Blvd is nowhere near Ventura. Only street in Ventura with the same name is Ventura Ave, right up at the northern end of town before you leave. And thats probably the one little tiny corner of town you dont want to live in.

Isla Vista would be funny. They could just put a bunch of drunk frat kids on the desktop wallpaper.

Not sure what happened to the post, but here it is again. I was actually referring to Santa Barbara, which is name-checked at the start in the style of Barbara Ann.

I think the naming conversion starts leaving the big cat series has been stupid. Such as Majave, Big Surf, Catalina...etc have no meaning to foreigners who do live outside US. And every time they named with these non-sense names. I'd to open a dictionary to find out where they are and what they mean.

Apple CEO after Steve Job has been stupid and Apple is in-charged by think-in-of-the-box stupid people. No new useful products for a decide now while in the Steve's age. We'd new type of apple products in every single year!

If they really love to assign with these silly non-sense/no-meaning names in their products. It's better to consider a name that the whole world would understand their meaning. Such as Mercury, Mars, Moon, Saturn and Pluto whatsoever. Such as MacOS Saturn, MacOS Blackhole, MacOS Neutronstar, MacOS Galaxy...etc would give more vibrant and resonance.

Apple was born and bred in California, it is part of who they are are. Why do you think their products say "Designed in California," and not "Designed in the USA." It is a matter of pride in what California once was. These California landmarks are what is still great in California.

Only pride of CA is also stupid. As the MacOS is designed for international customers that already having different languages/version available to worldwide. If the customer even don't know what its mean. That is pointless.

As I've pointed out that I'd to open a dictionary to find out what those names mean in the past couple years after the big cat series. That is already proven that Apple Inc. is now a think-in-of-the-box company and no genius people to lead the company anymore. They used those CA local non-sense names is illogical.

I'm sad after Steve is dead. Apple has no a real leader and no innovative products anymore. All apple staffs are just followers.

If they keep using those non-sense names to name their OS. I would rather prefer to learn from Microsoft to just use a no. to name the OS. Just like Windows 7, 8, 10. At least, the customer knows it is a newer release.

If they don't use the universe objects to name the OS. At least they should use the no. Such as MacOX XI, XII...etc. It's hard for global people on earth to understand those CA local names. Each time to open a dictionary to learn the new name is a joke for International customers. Also denoting that Apple leadership is now very narrow in mind set. Just like Bill gate.

Well, the one thing I don't like about Ventura, is that there are too many red light cameras there, and in neighboring Oxnard...

Be honest, even at this moment. After I opened up a dictionary. The dictionary has no mentioned of what is a "Ventura". The dictionary only has "Venture". So somebody just enlight me what the F is actually a "Ventura" mean!

For F sake! Even the Oxford dictionary has no mention of what the F is a "Ventura"!

I don't really see any issue in it. We don't really complain when, say, Volkswagen names their vehicles after Germany-specific things, even though they sell cars all over the world. If I really had a problem with Volkswagen's naming scheme enough to be offended by it, I wouldn't buy or drive Volkswagens. But they are German cars, so of course they are going to have a sense of pride being from Germany.

Apple isn't any different in my opinion. I don't think Apple is anti-USA or anti-world to be naming things after California. It's just a thing, it's just where they are from and it's a cultural thing for the company. Companies do this all the time.

You've just pointed out a typical example of business failure. That's why Volkswagen never succeeded in the global market share. If the global customer don't know what it is. Customer usually don't buy it, is the fact. The fact is apple to use CA's names is due to a group of California morons in charge of company after Steve died. As a result. Losing vision to international market today and losing creativity in innovating new line of products. For F sake, it has been a decade without any new innovative products. Apple is no longer a trademark of innovation. But stupidity. While in the Steve's age. New products coming out every year!!
