The Nike one and standard one looks identical in pictures, are you sure that the sports loops are different?

The new Nike sport bands are reflective; both white and black bands.

I mentioned this in another Nike AW-related thread but whether you like the Nike bands or not, you may be able to sell the band for a profit. Last year I sold the Nike-exclusive black sport band for $140 on ebay right when the watch came out, which also looked very similar to the regular black sport band. The crimson band was going for about the same price. This was before the Nike bands were sold on their own.

Thanks for the info guys, I did not know this, actually changed my order from the standard space grey model to the Nike one with black sports loop.
Cheers :)

i really like those colorful clock themes by Nike advertised on apples website. That’s the only reason I’m considering Nike if I have to be honest.

So, what are the Pro and cons? What features am I giving up if I go with Nike? And what am I missing out on besides clock themes if I go with the standard sports watch?

Also, I’m considering getting the loop band, is it more comfortable and still waterproof for washing hands or swimming? I currently have the silicone space grey sports band. It doesn’t feel nice around my wrist, which is very thin. It pulls on my wrist hairs and feels sticky at times. I always have the urge to take it off.
The only thing you’re giving up is the ability to get the better watch - the stainless steel.

No brainer to get the Nike, same price and extra faces that look great. I don’t care for the company now either but will take the extra faces for sure.

Hate waiting extra 2 weeks! Saw Nike 4 at Apple Store and the big size is awesome now. So much screen. Rounded corners look great too.

I'm getting the Nike. I always liked the Nike sport band better since it breathes a bit. Also, having received a new sport black AW4 already, the new fluorastimer black band is actually more GREY and it's just a TAD thinner and lighter weight than the previous sport black band. I'm hoping that the Nike band will be more similar to the current AW3 Nike bands.

I’m thinking about getting this one

I don’t like the regular sports band, it always feels sticky against my wrist and often pulls my wrist hairs. I actually had to shave off my hairs because it hurts like a b*tch. Do you know if this is more comfortable and durable in water/getting wet when washing hands?

I was thinking I was going to order the Nike version, but really there's nothing compelling about it to make me wait. I went with standard watch with sport loop and am quite happy.

Will the Nike branded sport loops eventually be sold separately? I bought two other Nike sport loops in the past year, but don’t see the new Nike colors sold apart from the watch right now. I didn’t buy them timed with a new watch launch and am not sure if it’s normal for them to be sold separately later. I prefer the Nike summit white over the regular seashell sport loop.
I think they will be. People who purchase that Nike version will need to be able to purchase replacement bands if something happens to their's, I would think.

I just picked up a regular S4 black, coming from a S3 Nike black. It does bother me slightly not to get the "special edition" for the same price, though I'm a cyclist (hence the avatar logo), not a runner. Never use NRC nor the Nike watch face. The only thing I will miss is the band as it allowed your arm to breathe during workouts, though there's the option to buy those separately.

I just got the S3 Nike a bit over a month ago since someone broke my S0 on me. I couldn't wait that long without the watch so I grabbed the S3. Found out yesterday the store had an extended return policy and they allowed me to exchange my new-ish S3 Nike for the S4. October 5 would have been past the return window to exchange next month.

Unless you want the Hermès faces. But they come at a $211 premium to buying a basic SS watch and an Hermès band.
$211? Try $500+.

EDIT NM. I thought you meant buying the Hermes watch.

Nike sells the bands separately and they will be available on the 5th. There is no reason to get their version of the watch other the exclusive face.

Where is your source on this? In previous Nike editions, they eventually sold the bands separately: months after the watch was released. I've not seen any information stating the bands will be available immediately on the 5th.

Nike sells the Sports Loop? They don't show it on their site

The Nike sport loops were sold by Apple previously but no longer on their site.

With the S3, the Nike-exclusive sport loops were not sold separately until late March of this year so I'm curious where you're seeing that the new Nike bands will be sold separately on the 5th.

It’s nog the same in terms of cost. Let’s say the regular 40mm Watch costs 399$. Same price for the Nike+. If I take the regular version and then buy the band then I will pay 49$ more. So if someone buys the regular version having in mind to buy later the Nike band it’s like paying 448 for the 40mm Watch. Not good deal!

Nike version always ships later and has different bands (some prefer the Nike bands, I personally like them). Those are the only two reasons to not get the Nike version.

The Apple Watch S2/3/4 Nike+ Models ONLY come in Aluminum. Their not the same price as the Stainless Steel models as some have not properly concluded clearly in the earlier posts of this thread.

So it’s Space Grey no Black and it’s very noticeable. I’ve owned the Apple Watch S2/S3 Nike+ Models before and now I’m heavily considering going for the SS black AW models and just get more bands. Very annoyed the White casing is available but not all black.

Due to the lower standard aw pricing at aluminum the Nike+ models would sell more. Ultimately the functions are the same except an exclusiveNike app - I cant recall because I’m not a runner and never cared for it and just removed complication and disabled on the Watch.

PS: is Walkie Talkie able to be disabled on any of the AW? Seems like a very useless annoying app to me.

How good is the quality of step/distance count on a trendmill who gps isn't involved? It will be my first Apple Watch so I'm unsure about that

Some gym equipment in the USA that Apple have partnered with allow you to use the built in nfc to sync for better accuracy with the equipment for your exercise. Apple has a list on their site somewhere.

I don't currently own an Apple Watch, Version 4 might just be enough of an improvement to tip the scale to buy. I am still disappointed in the battery life and no sleep tracking but I might get past that. I have had the same internal debate on regular 4 vs Nike 4.

Are all of the regular Apple watch faces available on the Nike version if I decide I like the regular faces better?

Also, I take it I cant download the Nike App on the non Nike 4?

Thanks in advance this has never been crystal clear to me.

All faces available on the Nike and you can install NRC+ on the regular (comes PRE-installed on the Nike).
