Will Best Buy have the new Macbook on the 10th?

I work in computers at the Best Buy in Mission Viejo, CA. I spoke to our Apple rep while we were checking our systems.

We are getting around a total of around 10 MacBooks early tomorrow morning via FedEx. 3 (space grey, gold, silver) are going on display at our Apple booth. The other 7 or so are going to be in stock for sale. We don't know what colors they are going to be or 256gb's or 512gb's.

There's only a total of 50 stores that Apple is shipping units to for sale, and ours happens to be one of them (only a total of 10 units notwithstanding). Our Apple rep said they are trying to see which stores are going to be selling the fastest and thus getting future units first.

Man i wish i could see that list. I live in Lehigh Valley, PA on the East Coast. I have 2 BB's near by. I called today, they really had no idea, from who i spoke too. I had to give the model number because they kept saying Macbook Pro :roll eyes:? Lol...

Maybe ill get up early and see my local one.

Cool, thanks. MV isn't too far. Wonder if the Orange store is getting any?

Yeah, sometimes the people who handle the phone calls don't know much, unfortunately, since they don't deal with specific departments and know what's new/upcoming/etc.

The BB I'm at is in an affluent area with needy customers to say the least, which is my guess as to why we are getting some units in.

I doubt it. All I heard is our store getting some. My guess would be Costa Mesa getting some as well (don't know when though), since that is adjacent to South Coast Plaza.

Don't know which are the other 49 unfortunately.
 
Corporate said the reason the system switches from "backordered" to processing is that it's trying to find a place (warehouse or store) to fulfill from.
 
Stopped by my local store this morning and asked when they are expecting them. Apple Rep said they are getting 1 gold one today at some point that is for display, but no other ones that he knows of right now

Well thats a waste lol. Someone would be more than happy to snag that up if they already played with it at the Apple store lol. :D Or even blind for that matter :)
 
Stopped by my local Best Buy and as usual about new Apple releases, clueless. No idea when they are getting any. I'm interested to see actual proof of the BB in Mission Viejo having some to sell today

The only best buys that are good for Macs are the ones with the stand alone "apple area". Those reps actually know what is going on :)
 
Just called and confirmed, the Best Buy in Mission Viejo does indeed have them in stock in all colors. She couldn't tell me exactly how many. It's only a 20 minute drive and I have one being delivered on Wednesday morning but I'm still tempted to go get one now haha

dexter, you're filled with excitement! It's incredible. You were even praising the performance of the rMB in another thread.

Very odd, I called the local best buy, and gave them all 3 skus for the 3 colors, and they did a nationwide search and showed no stores in the country have them on hand. I'm a bit skeptical when someone says they walked in and picked one up.

I'm guessing this means Union Square New York. Can't think of a Union Square store in San Francisco.

Haven't found any Best Buys in the Bay Area with stock. Emeryville said they think it will be in stock in the coming weeks, but no other information.

Funny I called the store to fact-check. They said they have them and when I asked which configuration, they went and checked and said 128gb and 256gb. I asked them for the SKUs and the gave me the SKUs for the Macbook Air. Gotta love the incompetence at Best Buy. I finally just gave them the SKUs for their own products, and they typed them into the computer. They don't have any of the 6 models\configs.

Sorry, but the guy gave bad info. :-(
