"Nationwide search and none have them"... that's wrong. Two by me have one each. And that's just two local BBY's. I'm sure others have some.

Pic or it doesn't exist.

The stores may SAY they have them, but then when you push, it comes out they just don't have a clue what they're looking for.

Funny I called the store to fact-check. They said they have them and when I asked which configuration, they went and checked and said 128gb and 256gb. I asked them for the SKUs and the gave me the SKUs for the Macbook Air. Gotta love the incompetence at Best Buy. I finally just gave them the SKUs for their own products, and they typed them into the computer. They don't have any of the 6 models\configs.

Sorry, but the guy gave bad info. :-(

I just called and she gave the SKUs for both Space Gray models, saying they had stock. When I called my local store, though, they did not have any (none in the state of Oklahoma).

They have a gold one on display. I've called these stores many times and they pretty much know who I am by now. They know which laptop I'm talking about. I've had conversations with them about it. I don't care that XYZ store was confused about the Air or Retina or whatever. I went through that nonsense with them on Friday. I don't need my intelligence insulted, nor should you be insulting them by saying "they don't have a clue what they're looking for" -- they've actually been very helpful and they DO know what they're looking for. I had the conversation, and I know. But I'm certainly not going to drive to a store that only has a display model, to take a picture, to prove to some person on the Internet that I don't know or don't care about, wrong. Really don't care what you think, but I know what I know.

"I know what I know" usually isn't a good way to prove a point. I don't think anyone doubts that some stores have them on display. The doubt is in their ability to actually SELL you a unit.

Well if you don't doubt that stores have them on display, then I guess I don't need to go take a picture to prove it to you, whoever you are. Wow, what a relief.

I never said they had them for sale - if they did I'd be at the store. I said they had them on display.

That's an utter lie. In post 126, you stated:

"Two by me have one each. And that's just two local BBY's. I'm sure others have some."

I'd love an explanation for that one.

Umm. It's not an "utter lie." Where did I say stores had them for sale? I never did. And in post 128 I said "on display."

Why would I lie to strangers on a forum? No need to call me a liar.

Sorry, it was in post 125 rather. You stated multiple best buy's near you have 2 each. Display units are never counted as store inventory, so you're either misinformed, or manipulating the facts.

Either way, to set the record straight, what you MEANT to say was that you know of several stores which have them on display, which aligns with the information thousands of other posts in the last 72 hours have stated already.

Next time clarify. By saying Best Buy has it (the topic of this thread), it leads people to believe that they're selling them, which isn't the case. They have display units, which means they have display stock, not merchandise.

Irvine, CA has one for sale too, just confirmed over the phone. People in other threads have bought them today.

Talked with bestbuy today and they told me that they should receive it tomorrow in stores since tomorrow, they'll receive a shipment from apple...is that true?

I'm guessing this means Union Square New York. Can't think of a Union Square store in San Francisco.

Haven't found any Best Buys in the Bay Area with stock. Emeryville said they think it will be in stock in the coming weeks, but no other information.

Yep, Union Square NYC...im not a troll...called a different nyc store, they told me union square had less than 5 in stock...raced over and got it! they had to manually enter the UPC because the system was not showing the item for sale..but i got it

PICS.
Makes me want to call my local BB and snag one before my online order ships...

I never said "Best Buy's near me have 2 each"... I said one each. And them having a display means that there are MacBook's in their company, which is the POINT. This is the post you're referring to:

"Nationwide search and none have them"... that's wrong. Two by me have one each. And that's just two local BBY's. I'm sure others have some.

In my other post (possibly even in another thread) I said something along the lines "at least they are getting displays, so at least Best Buy's are STARTING to get some, which is a GOOD THING.. it's a START"

Don't know what else to say to you. Apparently, you'd have a bad day. Don't know why you are out trying to prove me/others wrong. I'm on here getting updates to see if/what stores are getting them. No reason to lie or spread false info and I certainly have not.

Wrong.

As of 30 minutes ago, Best Buy in Soma has the Gold 512gb in stock, just one. I was told this one was for sale. Saw the inventory from all the stores in the Bay Area and they had the one. I was looking for the space gray :(

Dublin, CA - Best Buy!!! Only one in stock! ;-)

Went to the Irvine, California location because they said they had one available. Turns out it was a demo unit and even though it was still wrapped in the box, they wouldn't sell it to me. Gave the manager an earful and told him to instruct his employees better and not tell people they have stock when they don't. **** Best Buy

So tempted... only three block from my office... I'm also looking for Space Gray.

What coupon did you use to get 160 off?

Prob a movers coupon. You just go to the post office and ask for a movers packet. The lady gives them to me all the time when i ship stuff. I saved about $130 using one today via the 10% coupon when i picked up my 2015 MBPR. They work on macs and MacBooks oddly.

Unbelievably, I have a gold 1.2/512 in my hands as I type this. Well, it's on the desk next to my hands. One unit in a southern NH BB. Coupon + 0% tax = $1439.99 OTD. Pix to follow, gotta feed and walk the dogs (just got back from NH).
