I think people who notice this problems on their device should contact Apple. Even if you don't want to replace it, at least make Apple be aware of this issue.
Like I said, I emailed a letter to Tim Cook and this is one of the things I mentioned in it. I heard he's good with reading emails from customers, but I'm not sure it'll do much.I think people who notice this problems on their device should contact Apple. It's interesting that people have mentioned all display models in Apple stores also seem to have this faint mark. Let's see if Apple mentions it or if they quietly fix this issue in the next batch of production.I have a little one. Glad to know I'm not alone. It's really faint, and I only see it on a white background, if I'm looking for it. It's not in my main line of sight. I won't be returning it for that defect.
My screen is a bit warmer than my 6, but its not "yellow" and other than the pressure point my display looks great. Not worth the hassle of a return unless it gets worse.
They did (sort of) fix the Air 2's distortion issues. Some of them still have it, but mine no longer triggers as easy as my first one did. That's why I'm exchanging for a 6S, I think the Plus is going to be improved in a few months. Having a component in the phone pressing against the screen isn't up to Apple standards. It's interesting that people have mentioned all display models in Apple stores also seem to have this faint mark. The only things I can think of are the iPhone 5 battery replacement and the iPhone 6 Plus camera replacement. I suppose it's possible, but they would have to acknowledge the problem first.Interesting, thanks for sharing.
Is Apple known to replace units months after purchase for issues like these?
Pure luck.I've always bought "first batch" and never had problems.![]()
This thread is ridiculous imo. I'm curious if they'll actually replace phones for this non-defect. Report back.
Pure luck.![]()
Most of time, yes. Plus, don't forget trolls types.I'd bet that the vast majority of new iPhone owners out there don't notice any problems, either. Most tech nerds like us only post when there's a problem.![]()
Ok look, I'm tired of Apple apologists like you. Some of the "issues" I see in these forums are just asinine. When I read about people being on their 7th exchange I shudder. It's no wonder Apple Care is so expensive anymore.
Sorry but perfect is an ideal that does not exist in this world.
Yea and the vast majority also upgrade their phone just because it's "rose gold" and doesn't even know half the new features on their new phone.I'd bet that the vast majority of new iPhone owners out there don't notice any problems, either. If there is an obvious shadow on my screen, then it's a defect. I don't care how you feel about it, but I paid $1200 for this phone and I expect to get one with a perfectly uniform screen (I.e. The most important part of an iPhone).
If you think it's a non issue, great, but don't come criticize people here.
I agree that things like the "bendgate" are idiotic and non issues, but a shadow on a screen that is apparent every time there's a white background is problematic.

Let me reiterate, I did not LOOK for this flaw. I didn't go do those dead pixel tests or anything. I don't go turning off the lights in my room to compare color temperature between my iPhones. I noticed this problem as I was using my phone normally.Far from an apologist. Check some of my previous posts if you don't believe me. I just think some perspective is a good thing to have. It's a phone that will take a beating and most on these forums replace yearly. How can you ever enjoy if it you're searching for flaws? Look long enough anywhere and you'll eventually find what you're looking for.
I'm not trying to minimize legitimate issues, believe me. I just think some people have unrealistic expectations of a mass produced product.
Oh no I ain't even mad. Thanks to those sheep I'm making tons from my Apple shares.Yet they're just as valid a consumer as you or I are.

This is good news, hopefully the replacement that I'm getting in a day or two will be fine.I checked the display models in the Grand Central NYC store this morning on way to work, none of them have this issue; there are definitely phones that have the issue as I have received one, but not all of them do.
I saw the issues on my 6s+ before reading it here. I exchanged the phone at the Genius Bar twice (I refused the first replacement) and this 3rd unit has the issue but it is very faint so I'll probably keep it. The first replacement had multiple pressure defects (on both the right and left bottom) as well as pronounced spotlighting at the top of the display.
The genius was difficult to work with, although it was launch day.
