citrate: Prove that everyone in the world isn't using a signal jammer.

(Moral of the story? Unscientific experiments are unscientific, and e-yelling at people to "PROVE IT!!" is as stupid as it sounds.)

My reception and dropped call rate is the exact same it was with the 3GS. San Francisco is one of the worst areas for an iPhone, so trust me this is a good test.

I also get the same results with our without the bumper. With and without the MicroCell. Left or right handed, doesn't matter.

wat?

Prove there is a defect by showing us a iphone 4 in the same picture not having the problem as the one you describe.

Otherwise we have to believe it is some other environmental or user error causing the problem?

See how it cuts both ways?

So you show us the video with one working and one non-working phone since you are the one complaining.

Unless it is your supposition that ALL the phones don't work...

Which if it is, then it is easy to disprove by showing you a phone that does not have the problem, without the need for a second phone.

The only person who needs to show two phones in one video to prove their point is you.

I was waiting for this one. There is already proof that some iPhones don't work as advertised, we don't need a working one next to it to prove it. The arguement is that location plays a part in the defect so by taking a 'perfect' iPhone to the same location as a non working iPhone will prove one way or another.

It must depend on your location. In my house the bars on my iPhone do not go down no matter what I do. I even tried putting the phone inside aluminum foil and still nothing.

It may sound stupid but no one has managed it yet have they?

One iPhone, proves nothing. It's the location.

Right handed people hold the phone in their left hand more than left handed people. I have spoke to Apple but I don't want a refund, I want a working iPhone 4 because it would be the best phone on the planet. If you don't like this thread then you know what to do.

If you don't like the phone or how it operates, you know what to do.

His assertion (and that of many others) is that all iphones are affected by the issue, and that good local signal strength is giving some people the impression that they're not experiencing the issue at all.

A video of two iPhones side by side, on the same network, one displaying the issue and the other not displaying the issue, would disprove this claim. It would demonstrate that under almost identical conditions two iPhones are displaying different behaviour.

It's not a stupid request at all.

lol who cares if you want proof? I certainly don't need to prove anything to you.

Have fun convincing yourself that everyones phone is as broke as yours while we happily talk while holding our iPhones. :)

Don't need too or can't? :)

Shh. I'm on the phone :apple:

I don't need to convince myself. I've seen an iPhone working flawlessly in one location and they show the defected reception issue in other so I can see why people believe that their phone is pefect. Perhaps I would if I was in their position but thankfully I always keep an open mind and don't always believe what I want to believe.

I love how all of these people are getting mad and defensive, because they are just proving the OP's point. The design is flawed, not the software. Period.

How's this for a statement? Every iPhone 4 built to date has the reception defect!

So which is it ?

Until then it's obvious that the people that think they have a perfect iPhone haven't been in a bad location yet.

Maybe you missed the part where I said that these results were from San Francisco which is quite possibly the 1st or 2nd WORST AT&T city ?!

Now, I want to additionally include that I do have a few friends that have an iPhone 4. None of them are experiencing any worse conditions. Most of them are in San Francisco, and a few on the east coast.

It sounds to be like your device is defective.

It's both as per my previous post where I quite clearly say that it's a combination of both. My device is defective, and you know what? So is everyone elses. I didn't miss you point but it is pointless unless you have two phones in the same location, one showing the defect and one not. I don't expect you to understand this but hey, I tried.

BOTH!

Read the thread!

all iPhones have it, areas with strong signal are masking it. That's the contention. It's up to you guys to disprove it. Video evidence only! :)

I don't need to provide video to you ... I really don't care that much. The phone works perfect, I use the phone more then you can imagine. I have had every single iPhone in San Francisco, all over the city. I know where the signal is good and bad. I also know how well or how poor each device performed.

I have had no worse reception in ANY signal level regardless of how I handle the device or how its covered.

If you still don't believe me ... I really don't care. I am very happy with my device :)

You don't care but here you are. I've never been convinced more.

I totally believe you. That could all be true without contradicting the theory.

But it doesn't disprove it. And we're still waiting on somebody to do that. :D

C'mon guys.

Question: If Apple announce on Monday that every device is affected and you can send yours back for a 'perfect' one, I guess you will decline because you are 'very happy with your device' already?

That's the thing I'm waiting to see. If Apple does acknowledge a problem (hardware or software) the people who have denied that they experience it will look a bit silly.

That would never happen anyways. I certainly would decline. Not worth the hassle for something that won't improve my experience with the phone.

I have this issue at my room, where I usually couldn't even make call with my iPhone 3G, but I can with iPhone 4 (with this issue though).

I don't have this issue in my school, where the signal is quite strong there when I was using iPHone 3G
