Mine is coming Friday...

In their defense..you guys have to realize that they shipped hundreds if not over a thousand of these before the first people got theirs in their hands. If there was a packaging error or something they didnt know...everyone that ordered teh first batch is going to get a messed up version. This is not something they planned on. You think they want hundreds of upset customers demanding refunds and new product. For them to manufacturer the product it doesnt cost much. Im sure the packaging materials and shippign costs them more.

Give them a chance to right their wrongs. A mistake was a mistake and you cant always catch them right away. Until they realize they have a problem, they keep shipping the same way.

And Im guessing they dont use a die to stamp these. They are likely cut on a plotter.

Got my wrapsol Ultra in the mail today and it was messed up like the rest. The back film was stuck to the side pieces but the front turned out okay. In order to get some protection for the front I decided to at least apply the front film. I don't really have streak marks from the squeegee but I noticed as I tried to get the bubbles out I ended up stretching the film out. Now the corner and sides arent matching up perfectly. On the top two corners the film stick out a little and makes it really easy to pull the film off. Is anyone else having this problem? What can I do apply the film without stretching it out?

Btw, I used the dry install.

I didn't like the squeegee either. I ended up using a credit card instead of the supplied squeegee. It didn't stretch the plastic and it didn't leave any marks (not that it should have).

Can someone summarize what happened with the wrapsol product? I'm getting mine by the mail tomorrow and I wanted to know what is wrong with it?

Does it apply to the majority of the first batch that came out?
Well, I got my "Ultra" set today "Wednesday" and it is junk. The package was well packed in a very heavy cardboard folder. The film set was in a poly bag with the damn instruction sheet so there is character transfer from the instructions on the film.

The front film is scuffed (looks like roller tracks) on the FILM, it is not just on the backing sheet. The front film is torn around the front facing camera hole. The side films were all stuck together and the cut qualiy is very poor. The back film looks like it was slid across a sheet of sand paper and then stuck with dirty hands to the backing sheet. "EPIC FAIL".

Sorry but this it not a simple packaging problem this is a MAJOR QA Screwup!

First AT&T, then Apple and now Wrapsol. This has not been a fun experience. :(

It's a bummer, but not a huge deal. Call 'em up for a free replacement! At least give them another chance. If not, they will also give you a full replacement. Bad experience, but they really do have great customer service.

Just sayin.

I'm glad I didn't order the wrapsol before the release of the iPhone 4. I figured the fitment would be off since they pre-made these before the actual release of the phone.

Seriously dude, you were the one that went around every thread praising them blindly and putting competitors down with zero basis. Then yellowfrog who works for them shows up on these forums. Yeah sure, you have no ulterior motives.

Hahaha! Just sharing my opinion dude! I wasn't praising them blindly. I wrote up a huge comparison chart that you obviously missed.

Seriously, I'm just sharing my opinion and experience. Relax! :D I have no ulterior motives. I just want people to evaluate all of their options before deciding. Like everyone else, I'm just putting my opinion out there. ;)

I have no affiliation with Wrapsol. Never have, except being a loyal customer.

First time with them too, I think everyone deserves a second chance. They are willing to make things right.

I agree with lorenwade.

their customer service is awesome... I am sure this problem will get resolve sooner if they dont want to loose anymore customers like me.

New batch will ship out today so pls post pick if you get new package...

thanks

My sides look like crap, but my front and back are quite nicely measured. I'm thoroughly impressed with the customer service. Every company makes a mistake every now and then and I am going to wait it out and see how the replacements come out. I'm really wondering if the sided will be of a different cut.

I called them now and the rep told me to fill out the warranty form on website and I did but no emails that they got it and so on...

What to do? Just pray they got it?

Well...over 36 hours in and the bubbles never disappeared and the top piece fell off. I filled out the warranty. We'll see what happens...

Same problem here. Very obvious "rolling" marks on film, not backing sheet. Filling out warranty info.

I got mine yesterday and Applied the ULTRA with some Liquid. I actually really like it and I am looking forward to getting the new pieaces. I put the crap ones on just to get some practise before the good pair comes. Tried to put Bumper on doesnt fit.

can someone post their pics of an original wrapsol after install? I've had the ultra on the 3gs and i4 now (the usual problems with this first batch) but I really loved it on the 3gs...deciding on how to proceed with a replacement...thanks

There are several earlier on in this very thread.:D

I received my Wrapsol Original toady (UK resident) and the product was flawless thankfully; none of the issues that others have experienced.
I opted for the "Steamed Bathroom Technique" and installation was a breeze. I did soak the thing though, figured I won't be needing the liquid for anything else, and basically finished the bottle.
The matte back feels absolutely gorgeous, it was the reason I went for the Original over the Ultra, the screen clarity is great and for the first time since getting it, I've carried the phone naked.
If I find a camera I'll post pictures (I'm at a relatives house and don't know if they have one).

Hum, well, emailed support@wrapsol.com this AM as well. Got my films yesterday. Honestly, they would have been fine if they did not pack the films in the same bag as the directions. The films were riddled with ink transfer and after almost 24 hours on I can still see the lettering telling me to clean my phone before installation of the film. :p

I am gonna hopefully get a Original as my replacement, at least that I what I asked for. Looks like the Originals came out a lot better than the Ultras. Also, I noticed that with the bumper on, the edges of the Ultra film tend to peel up in certain areas. I was really careful with the alignment of my films, but I think the film's thickness is actually a bit of a downside here if you want to use this film with the Apple bumpers. You CAN do it, but I would recommend putting the bumper on before the film has settled in and move the film around so that it does not contact the edges of the bumper case. This will avoid the bubbling up. I think the Original will sit better as it is not as thick. And no, I did not install the side pieces. No need to if I am going to use the bumper.

Also, for those wondering about ease of install. I did a wet install on the back which was super easy to do. I did the dry install on the front. Also very easy to do. All bubbles were out on both sides within about 6 hours. :)

I also noticed there is a bit of an "orange peel" effect here with the Ultra film. Others who had the original stated there was none, so I am wondering if this is just with the Ultra since it is a thicker film. However, the effect is very minimal and much less than the Zagg IS (I compared the two last night with my friend's that has the IS on it.) In the places were my film is clear and not messed up from the packaging job, there really is no perceived effect on the display.

As to the feel of the film, it is really nice. Finger glides across it very well, even better than on the glass itself. Very little drag noted which is nice. It does attract fingerprints like mad though. This is another reason I am gonna go with the Original for the replacement film.

I hope they will overnight my replacement to me. I will update once I get it and get it on and try to compare the two for everyone.

Waiting for my ultra replacement, and hope to pair this with a black bumper.

Well I just installed the Ultra and I did it in a steamy bathroom and I've never had so much trouble installing a screen protector in my life. I've been doing them on my last couple iphones without any issues/any bubbles for the past 3 generations.

The wrapsol is a PITA to get on and as of right now it looks horrendous. I'm hoping the bubbles go away, but we'll see. Also with regards to clarity, the Ultra is anything but. The brilliance of the screen is gone and it makes it look like a 3GS/3G without a screen protector on. I'm hoping once the bubbles evaporate..if they do...that the retina screen will be beautiful once again.

I may be swapping mine out for an original... But I'm definitely going to be awaiting the Power Support Crystal to possibly replace the front.

I have just the front/back films of Wrapsol Ultra (my package didn't have the side films, ordered replacement) on my phone right now and it actually looks pretty damn good even with all the markings on the adhesive. All the bubbles DO disappear after 12-24 hours, that's how this film works.

There is NO orange peel effect. My friend couldn't even tell that I had a film on the phone. The surface is slick. Does pick up fingerprints, but wipes off easily. Gonna have to try the "steamy bathroom" method, as I did get some dust underneath.

I recommend those who are trying to switch to Original, stay with Ultra. They are shipping out a new batch these few days and should have PRECISE excellent cuts that you won't regret putting on your phone.
