LOL at people sucking up to Wrapsol and their "great customer service". The fact that they systematically sent out defective products borders on criminal, or at the very least a great example of corporate arrogance and incompetence. Do people actually think they had no idea that all of these shields were defective, that it is some big surprise to them, that don't look at any of their product after it is created? These gutless people should be refunding everyone who ordered the first batch, not making them call or fill out a warranty claim. And for all the Wrapsol shills on here, how much is yellow frog paying you to post?

Umm, I have mine arriving tomorrow. But from what I read, yeah they made a mistake in their production... but they are fixing it and taking care of any complaints. To me that is good business.

I wouldn't put it so harshly. I just got mine in the mail today (live in CA) and it was messed up like the others. Wrapsol made a mistake because they wanted to try and get in on the iPhone 4 launch. But they have a track record of previous products which are good and they are sending me a replacement, overnight, free of charge. I imagine the overnight shipping from the east cost to california is going to cost more than my original order, so they are making it right.

Okay, so I just installed the ultras. Here is my story.

I received the package today - I had placed the order June 29th. The box was kind of dirty and definitely not in pristine condition. The contents of the baggie were also quite disorganized, with one of the side pieces completely off the template and attached to the front cover. Otherwise they were in decent condition - no lettering transfer from the instructions or anything.

I applied everything in about a half hour with a "wet" style mounting technique.

Attached are the pictures of the front and back sides immediately after installation. It is safe to say that it doesn't look good but that is expected.

However, even as I finished installing the side pieces (which were a hassle), I already noticed air bubbles disappearing. I will take pictures in 24 hours again to show you the final product.

All in all I'm pretty happy and probably won't be asking for a replacement. Then again, this is my first iPhone and my first "clear protection system" product so maybe I'm not picky enough. This is why I'll post pictures tomorrow and you guys can tell me if it is not up to par.

Some notes about the installation...
1. I did not use the rubber square unless I wanted to stretch the film out. I used a credit card instead to push out excess water. I wasn't aggressive with the credit card at all (ie I didn't hunt down every tiny bubble and try to scrape it to the side).
2. I used plain water when mounting the films. I simply wet my fingers and splashed water onto the covers as I removed the adhesive paper thing.

Right now, about 2 hours since I installed it, I'd say the front and back have seen a 75% improvement. There are still several bubbles but much improved from the attached pictures.

And Apple screwed up and aren't doing anything about it. At least Wrapsol is providing good customer support. Much more than I can say for Apple go complain about Apple instead.

I just installed Original for iPhone 4. Package came in perfect condition. Quality was good. I will post some pictures later on.

Got my Wrapsol package today and it was a hot mess. The actual sheets were all stuck together and scratched to hell. The side strips were destroyed and I won't even bother putting them on. I put the front protector on and dedicated an egregious amount of time to making sure I followed the instructions and did it with precision. Once the screen is activated, it looks like someone sneezed on my phone. I am going to give it 24 hrs before make a final decision, but right now I'm a little disappointed. It cost more than some cases I've purchased for my iPhones in the past. I'm resisting the urge to call it "Crapsol."

That's a bummer to see so many issues with this product. I hope they get it all resolved cause I really do like the product.

I will say that my regular skins packaging arrived in good shape. The only real issue was the metal band pieces were out of alignment on the backing but I could have still applied them. I just didn't want to apply them.

Front and back pieces were in good shape.

Mine was a disaster. Marks all over it and just dirty looking. Put it on and it made me hate my phone. I emailed wrapsol several times without a response and then read somewhere I should forward my order confirmation to get a replacement. So I did. I got an email back with 'penny' cc'd on it saying I would get a replacement and 'penny' would take care of it. That was a few days ago and haven't heard anything since. At this point I don't even want a replacement, I just want my money back.

Mine arrived today. All the pieces were scuffed pretty badly. The side films were stuck to the front film. Once these were peeled off, they left pretty bad vertical marks on the front film. The front film also has small lettering on it from what looks like the instruction manual. All of this is on the actual films, not the backing.

Earlier I posted awful reviews about my ultra, but I gave it another install and did a wet install but didn't use as much water.

IT TURNED OUT PERFECT! Not sure what's different this time, it may just have to do with experience. There were bubbles, but because I'm impatient, took approximately 25 minutes to push out each one with my finger nail. I used a credit card, not the rubber squeegee included, to get a bulk of the water out. It truly does look like nothing is there. There are zero bubbles and the clarity is 100% like nothing is on it at all.

I haven't done the sides because I want to get the new "redesigned" ones yellow frog is talking about.0.

i received mine yesterday and it had a large welt in the back piece. terrible looking.

The other pieces were also in poor shape; scuff marks, dirty. I asked them for a return/refund.

Got my order for the original wrapsol. Back piece was creased because it fell out of the cut out and got smashed in the packaging. The problem is the packaging. It looks good aside from the crease. I like the matte finish. If wrapsol fixes the packaging then I think they would far fewer complaints. Also, all the layers of cardboard seems a bit wasteful...lots of cardboard.

This is the Wrapsol I know. This is exactly why I love their product. I know people are having bad experiences, but this is what they should be getting. Awesome pictures.

Cheerleader and apologist.

Who me? I was bitching earlier and justifiably so...but once I reapplied it and it came out fine so I modified my review. I still feel the packaging is horrible and am waiting on the new side pieces so my review is still 50/50.

Yeah, the packaging they're sending out right now is definitely subpar to their previous packaging. And no, he's probably referring to me. People don't like that I defend a product I like. It's much easier to throw out names that are supposed to hurt instead of discussing it civilly.

That looks really good. Could you please explain your process and how you installed these? Looks like you went the wet route with the Ultras.. just wondering in detail how you did it so I may get similar results. Thanks!

hokeyplyr48, I take it you have the original order before they sent out revisions right? How's it feel on your hand?

I really hope this is like the one I got with my 3G last year. It was an original and well packed, it included a spray bottle and a microfiber cloth which I still have. It was easy to install and came out great, but I'm a little worried now. I'm hoping Power Support gets theirs out soon.

I'm gonna put this in quotes since someone earlier in this thread said it:
Buy a spray bottle and set it to "mist". Put 1-2 drops of dish soap into the spray bottle, fill with water.

Protip: Something I always do is apply the skin in the bathroom. Run the shower for 5-10 minutes to steam up the room. This will take a lot of dust out of the air.

Lay the phone on the counter-top and clean the surface you are applying the skin to with something like a microfiber cloth.

1. Mist you fingertips and thumbs very well
2. Start peeling the skin off of the paper, peel it half way and mist it. It doesnt need to be dripping.
3. Finish peeling and mist the rest of the skin
4. Place the skin on the phone, lining up the cutouts first. Gently lay the rest of the skin down and verify it is lining up as you set it down. If not, then peeling it back up a couple times shouldnt be a problem.
5. Squeege out all excess water..starting from the middle outward. Avoiding the headphone jack and dock connector.

I did that, just sprayed the sheets in a steamy bathroom and was very careful in the application about the water coming out the sides. Just had a towel and wiped it up after each stroke of my fingernail to get rid of the bubbles. Once I did it once (and screwed it up) the second time was much easier. The wet install definitely seems like the way to go.

Quick update...five hours after installation and it looks great. just about 5 bubbles front and back combined. Otherwise pristine. Satisfied here.

The one in the pictures is the original one and it feels fine. I've been babying the phone for the past week and it feels nice to be able to treat it like my old 3GS now. It doesn't feel really rubbery or anything, but it does have a "grippiness" to it which I like. It doesn't have any "orange peel" look which I tried to show in my pictures, which is a huge plus. It truly looks like nothing is on the front/back of the phone.

Can you use the wet install method with the Ultra films? I think I read it was okay but just want to make sure before I try that method myself.

Thanks for quoting the install instructions.

Yes, you can. I did a dry install with one side and wet on the other. Both came out equally as well and were both just as easy to do I thought.
