I received 2 sets of ultras last friday and they came in pretty much the same condition as noted by many here on the forums.

I went ahead and applied the films to my phones anyway, since I figured it would be good practice and maybe they would apply ok despite the condition.

First, i applied my phone's films the way I normally would. Cleaned my work area, washed my hands really well. set out the materials and started the process. I didn't do very well on the first application. The film was misaligned on the front so i peeled it back and re-applied it. The first application looked very good, but the second was terrible. I had a lot of bubbles which didn't really want to come out. i had approx 25 to 30 bubbles. I did a better job on the back film and put it on the first try and only had 2 or 3 bubbles, but the lines from the side films were very apparent on the back.

The side films went on fine though it was pretty difficult to get some of those cutouts out of the side pieces.

I then went on their website to support and noticed the installation video for the first time.

My wife didn't want me to install on her phone after seeing my phone.

To my surprise, all the bubbles from my phone have gone after about 48 hrs. The lines on the back, while still visible have also started to fade. However, the film seems to pick up markings from whatever you leave it on. I have a wood grain desk and after sitting on it for a couple of hrs, the film picked up the wood grain markings (which also have faded).

My wife then let me install on her phone. i used their technique for the 2nd phone and the install was pretty easy and flawless. I had a total of 3 small bubbles which went away pretty quickly.

i have requested replacement films because after 72 hrs the lines from the side films are still visible. Also, one of the smaller side pieces was missing from one of the packages. The only issue with the front of my phone was that i tried too hard to push out some bubbles and right on the edge there's a mark. I didn't do that on my wife's phone's bubbles and that install is pretty flawless other than the lines on the back.

Two things:

One, the film is stretchy and can be adjusted while applied. It isn't necessary to lift and re-apply most of the time as long as you are close in your application.

Two, you really need to let it cure for about 48 hrs to make a good judgement on the film. it seems to be getting nicer looking as time passes (my film was installed 72 hrs ago now).

Lastly, the film is not as slick as power support crystal film, but it is way slicker than zagg invisible shield film for those that have used those products.

Good luck to all.

I received my replacement today. MUCH better condition. It was a little more difficult to peel the non-used pieces out from the edge pieces but I used a knife and pushed pretty hard and they came out. The fitment on it is great now.
I just have a feeling I am going to drop this phone, so I might order a bumper.

I tried requesting a warranty replacement through their site today, but after hitting the submit button on the page where you enter your address, I kept getting the following error:

" Error: Request to fedex web service failed: [868]Service is not allowed. "

Not sure what that means, I'm guessing a FedEx problem, but I could never continue, so I just used the support form on their site instead. Hopefully they will help me get a replacement. I have several streaks on the front and back skin (Ultra) that take so much away from the phone's awesome display.

I still like Wrapsol. I had the matte skin for my 3GS and thought it was great. I think once I get a near flawless skin for my 4G it'll also be great.

I am getting an error trying to get a replacement also. I am trying to submit my shipping address and everytime I submit, it says

Error: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: source

Can someone explain to me how I get my warranty replacement because I got my Ultra today and all the films were stuck together and when I peeled them apart, there was lint already on the adhesive and there were marking the front and back protectors from them being stuck together. I want to give wrapsol a second chance before asking for a refund so how do I get my warranty replacement, yellow frog? Anyone?

Just call them does no one read anymore.

I have one and I thought I was to cool to put it on and I dropped it. Suckssss

Ya know, I'll give Wrapsol some credit for trying to fix their mistake.

The sides and back cut outs are much much better. Hell, the front is actually better too.

But the quality control of the front skins are just bad. I've had two replacements and every single one (including the original that I posted pictures of) has had *some* strange, oil-spill looking pattern to it. I kept trying my luck hoping the next one would be better, maybe it needed time to dry, etc. but alas, there is something wrong that is making these skins look like this.

Maybe it's not even Wrapsol's fault. Fed Ex has left each package outside in the NorthEast heat and maybe that has caused the "glue" to leak or something. I don't know.

I've given up though. Again, I love the new cut sides and the matte back enough that I probably will buy again in the future. But the front skin is bad enough that I can pretty much expect to not use it. It's such a shame too, because if they didn't have this odd pattern I would like them equally as well and be 100% satisfied. They have the cut out around the front camera exactly as I want in a skin.

I feel like I can call up support and get help again but I'm just at my end of hoping they can send me a solid front.

I might just leave this bad looking front on and go with something else.

If I can offer any advice, maybe you should put some sort of cover on BOTH sides when shipping. I don't know if this strange pattern is due to the front being uncovered and sticking or what, but it may help. Again, I have the Original.

Tomorrow I should be getting my second or third replacements... I have lost count at this point tbh

Ill report back...

If these are not up to par then I will go the refund route.

Ordered two ultras and got them today. They came folded up inside of the microfiber towel, no plastic sleeve, and the front and back were a little stuck together on both, but not too bad. There was some stray adhesive on the front of one set, however. I installed them on my phone as a guinea pig for my wife's, and I'll probably be sending her's back for a refund. Just not nearly as nice as I was expecting from all the rave reviews of earlier models.

It went on easily enough, used the steamy bathroom and spray method. I could not even imagine trying to install these dry, they're super sticky. The sides were actually easier to get on then I expected, but still a kind of a pain for anyone with larger fingers.

It's been about 8 hours now, and there's just a lot of lines and smears on the front and back. Hopefully it fades a bit as some of described, but I would be surprised at this point. Clarity is perfect in spots and there's lots of rainbow lines in others. Just not anywhere close the the power support crystal or anti-glare that I've used in the past in terms of quality. The ear piece cut out is a little iffy as well.

Also, a quick disclaimer, do not install the sides if you intend to use a bumper, it adds too much thickness and doesn't sit right, I already peeled the sides off of mine.

My first set was horrible. I emailed a few times and didnt get any responses for a week. Then suddenly I was getting several fed-ex shipping notifications. I thought that couldn't be right, but here I sit with 3 replacements and another on the way. I dont even want them. I might open them and see if they're in better shape, but I really just wanted a refund.
i never filled out the warranty page. for those of you with issues, just email or call with your original order number.

Got my replacement

Hi all
So I got my replacement pieces in the mail and I have to say the quality control from the first set is fantastic. They were in perfect condition!

Im running into a few issues. I installed it dry and then had to pull it back due to a piece of lint. Now there is dust underneath and causing bubbles. Is it best to install it wet at this point to remove anything stuck to the film?

If that's all you can contribute to the Wrapsol conversation, then you don't have much going for ya man. All you do is wade through the Wrapsol threads and use your not-really-clever nickname "Wrapfail" for them.

So what, they sent out a bad batch. You're still using an iPhone aren't you? Despite all of the issues people are having? Crap happens and they're offering a free replacement. And if you're not using an iPhone, then I have no idea why you are here. ;)

who are you? r u their employees? I just dont get it. They sent out bad quality product over and over again. Look at people's comments, after so many days, a lot of people still get defective product. yup. their customer service is nice and friendly. so what? if they can do it right at first time, nobody even wants to talk to their customer service rep. After 20 days and a lot of trouble, I finally got refund and gave up on them. Fanboys like you just make me sick.

Company has already stated they hire folks with disabilities etc to help them with this. Mistakes happen and they are fixing them.

Sure he might be a fanboy, but just because Wrapsol screwed up doesn't give people permission to ignore basic forum rules and etiquette by spamming useless posts.

And at at risk of being labeled a fanboy myself, I will venture a guess that a some of these complaints come from people waiting 30 minutes and deeming the skins defective. My father is a retired chemical engineer who has spent over 30 years working at a company that deals a lot with all sorts of self healing polymers with a low TG (glass transition temperature) like this one. When yellow frog says you have to wait 24 hours it's not some sort of standard PR procedure like Apple has the "Geniuses" programmed to say. The idea is that the material will smooth out like a flowing liquid to the best of its ability. I can put a pretty big gash in mine with the edge of my fingernail and it will seal up after a half hour.

Now I'm not saying that EVERYONE is wrong for returning their wrapsols - I'm sure there were and are defects, and even mine came sloppily packaged - but the material itself is quite durable.

Just got my replacement. It is in pretty damn good condition. Side's are cut very well, front and back films have barely any scuffs.

Took me a while in the steamy bathroom to apply (I am a perfectionist). But after a day of use, it feels very solid and I'm once again glad I bought this full-body film. It almost feels like hard plastic is taped to the phone, gives it a good secure feel.

Once again, after you install, give it a day to settle in, all the bubbles disappear and it just looks GREAT.

EDIT:

OH! I forgot to mention, this takes care of the reception issue 100%. :)

He was giving his opinion. If you need something to support his point, you probably can find tons of complains here in last couple weeks.

Actually, I don't want to blame wrapsol anymore. They probably did all they can do to make things right......Hope everybody will be happy eventually.

I think the bubbles will only go away if you do steamy bathroom apply or wet apply because the bubbles on my wrapsol ultra are still there after several days. I recommend people order original one instead of ultra. You will have easier installation process and saving 5 dollars at same time. I guess the ultra film is kind of immature product.

Adding a VERY large picture:

You can only see this when viewing the skin at a certain angle. Still, it should NOT look like this.

Edit: I received a reply in less than 2 minutes from support when providing this picture. They are sending me out replacements again.

They are certainly trying. I hope they can eventually get it right. The product is a good one but they just need to get these little things under control.

Got my replacement today ....

Ok it is night n day from last 2 orders , front went on smooth no "outside" marks and it is beautiful

Just called Wrapsol because of the terrible quality of the Ultra shield, I received last Friday. Asked for replacement to the original and was given it no questions. Was given over night shipment also free of charge. They seem to be aware of the problems of the Ultra and just told me to keep the Ultra I previously received. Even though the first product was bad, I'm willing to give them a 2nd chance due to their great customer service.

Would it not look right if I used both the ultra and the original so I can get both "drop" protection and the matte look? Probably too much plastic on your phone, yeah? I guess I might as well get a rubber cover at that point. I guess I'd have to choose. I wonder how much more protection the ultra gives?

I watched the video on their website where they wrapped the phone in plastic and put it in a ziploc bag with all kinds of junk and even sand. The phone didn't get damaged, but they wrapped a big piece of plastic around the phone. I would think the regular product would not be as effective because dirt and dust could get under the film.

To everyone complaining about the streaks. You probably need to give it 3-4 days for them to disappear. I applied the back protector from my original order and after 4 days it was clear and you couldn't see the marks of where the side pieces basically melded together. So those of you with replacements, I say give it several days and maybe apply gentle heat like holding it in your hand to let the streaks/bubbles/scuffs disappear.

Finally got my FIRST Wrapsol after a 9 day delay. It was absolutely aweful. There was a huge noticable scratch on the bottom.

I have been an invisble shield user , and I just requested a replacement. Hopefully they replace it with their 2nd batch.
