I was so happy that there was finally no difference between the XS and XS max, if they do this ,it will be a step backwards.

I, too, was incredibly happy to have the XS have all the same features from a hardware standpoint. I HATED having to get the 'plus' models before for the better camera as I much prefer the smaller form factor. The X/XS is the PERFECT size iPhone so I really hope I don't have to go 'MAX' to get the best features. Ugh!

Whatever happened to MicroLED? Coming from someone that hates, hates, HATES the bump, I would be willing to accept a modest bump, if and only if a case can make it flush AND they can get 5x or greater optical zoom with changeable aperture.
Micro LED is still new and VERY VERY expensive. And considering OLED isn't exactly taking off like gangbusters especially for TVs, micro LED becoming a standard is many years away.

I am very happy with my XS Max. I will only upgrade with the addition of support for the Apple Pencil.

I couldn't care less about the 3rd camera, but if they drop 3D touch I may hold on to my XS for a long-long time...

How's the haptic touch, XR users?..
Imagine the threads if Apple removes it from existing phones with a software update.

What, no mention of the 5C yet? Guess it's my turn.
Please release a "5C" form factor iPhone with all the latest bells and whistles*.
Thanks.

*bells and whistles includes audio jack

I have this and the mobile is awesome except for the hideous notch like X. It has the best camera, decent processor, great display (like iPhone) and the software also mimics iOS (which I don't like it at all).

But as Tim mentioned earlier this will the third year of the X product cycle and new one may be lauclaun in 2020 or 2021 with major improvements.

Am I the only one intrigued by the possibilities of a triple-lens camera system? I love taking photos and use my iPhone 99% of the time, so for me any major camera improvement is well worth the upgrade. I’d also love to have USB-C.

$8 of extra camera for $199 :)

Glad I got the 512GB iPhone XS Max, its going to last me the next 5 years.

Hopefully some real cool innovation might have happened by then.

You're not going to upgrade you phone until the fall of 2023? I have my doubts.

Used to care about camera when my kids were growing up, not so much anymore. The Max size is too big for me so this year i will be looking at either xr or xs as replacements for my x

If you have an X, the XS is a giant waste of money. If you don't care about cameras what is the point in upgrading from an X. The form factor, screen and perceivable speed of the XS are identical to the X. And the only reason to get an XR would be to have a larger screen for less money.

The X will still be a great phone for many years. The 2018 phones are very much for those of us who had 2, 3, 4 , 5 year old phones and wanted an upgrade. Yearly upgrades just seem silly the last couple of years.

Agreed, love the thought of an even better camera. Be disappointed if we don’t see USB C on the next iPhone. Do like it on my iPad Pro

I'm just not interested in such phones. Looking at people around me at the office and family it appears I'm not alone with that lack of interest. No wonder Apple is making less profit. Apple seems more about fashion instead of really usable products. The only phone I'm interested in is something like the SE-2. Definitely not larger than the SE. Smaller is ok. Price is a less important factor: it's a tool I use daily on a professional level.

µLED is just in prototype stage at this point in time. It will come, but it will be costly until the manufacturing process matures. Like with every new technology it will be long time until you see it on the iPhone. Why? Because the iPhone is one of, if not the consumer electronic device that is seeing the highest demand on the market.

Apple can't rely on components that are not being produced on the scale and efficiency required for Apple to meet demands. They can't just jump onto new technology as it almost always in just available in limited quantities with a slow production. You can't stick a µLED panel and have only 1 million iPhone ready for launch with only 1 million being produces every month due to the lack of µLED panels on the market.

I'm eager to see the development of µLED, it combines all benefits of OLED and LCD into one.

The existing XR is a memory-crippled iPhone when using the camera ! ... my 7+ far OUT-performs my XR when using the camera !

NO WAY is the XR going dual, UNLESS/UNTIL AAPL fixes the memory issue !

The XR is NOT a true 3 GB DRAM iPhone when using the camera !

The existing XR (& probably the X as well) should both have included 4 GB of DRAM, like the XS & XS Max.

Tim Cook stopped Hyping AR because he/they ultimately figured-out they Blundered when going cheap with the X & XR !

The fact that few know what I've just described is extremely puzzling.

Few are (clearly) making high-perf / leading-edge camera apps anymore !

It’s a tool for me as well, but I also use the phone to see my kids and family, watch movies on planes. That is why I bought the max. Had some doubts but 14 days to return it and I love the large screen.
