it was just a joke, but i won't discuss any on the other game here (or there) until it's done, then i'll ask you a clarification, out of curiosity, if it's ok with you.

meanwhile, when is dawn? i have this uncomfortable tingling sensation down the back of my neck and would like to wake up to dispell it.

It's ok, I don't mind.

I have a feeling we're in for quite a wait. Ravenvii said the deadline was 10PM tonight.

I find it interesting that after all the talk of sticking true to his role that KMM didn't tell us who he scanned, just that the person was not a baddie. I can understand not wanting to reveal a specials' role, but he could have cleared someone from not being a bad guy and helped out the villagers.

KMM, I understand your frutration about being lynched, but you have to admit that with you saying you would not let us know if you were turned then being an outed seer makes you very dangerous. We could never know if you were telling the truth or not. I would say that the previous game, where a turned seer made for an easy wolf pack victory, has everyone a little hesitant right now. I actually applaud you not being willing to out the other wolves, but you could take a stand and say if you were turned you would tell the village about your own misfortune so we could lynch you, thereby ending your cursed existence and saving your soul.

I wish we could have maybe tried to keep you around for one night or so, but obviously people thought it was too great a risk. RIP KMM. Hey, don't stop following the thread because if we can out the infection then you could be worth bringing back later.

See iBlue, and check my fur-o-meter. It has been spot on. iBook and appleguy along with melrose are pitching in

I'm afraid I can't help there. I woke up to find that you lot lynched your seer in this game and my seeing days are over in the other. It was fun but I do sometimes wish I wasn't always a force for good... and cookies! :D

mscriv, KMM was never turned.

If he was he would have transformed into a WW at lynching. he didn't so it follows that everything he said was the truth.
And the reason that he didn't reveal anything relevant about his scan is quite simple: he is dead, therefore he cannot -by the rule- reveal anything that would affect the game, especially not something as direct as someone's role.
for the same reason, he couldn't out the other wolves, because he didn't know who they are.

it was just unfortunate that the lynching went so quickly, because i think he would have certainly told us who the next exonerated one was. especially because all the time saved in speed-o-lynch mode, has been amply lost in the following (and still current) night

I understand that he wasn't turned and you are quite correct about the after death post. I didn't think about that rule, my bad.

My point was that there has been a lot of talking about the ethics behind how one goes about playing the given roles in this game. If a player, like KMM, wanted to preserve his/her integrity yet, as chrmjenkins has a certain natural slant, then he/she could take a middle ground stance towards infection.

For example, "I'm a good guy and will not succumb to the evil that has been forced upon me, but out of respect for the other players I will not reveal the identity of the wolves. Thus, I propose that if I am infected I will reveal such so that I can be lynched for the purpose of saving the village." If KMM or any seer in a future game took this stance then it might help the villagers in deciding if it was worth the risk of keeping the outed seer around. Naturally, this stance would also make the seer more of a target for the wolfpack to kill.

As I said before, the more I play the game and the more we tweak rules, powers/abilities, and roles, the more I see nuances and different ways to go about playing the game.

I'm tempted to ask the Sorcerer to bring back KMM so that we can find out who he scanned and what their role is.

I am so absolutely lost in this game. This villager may not be of too much help.

You're not the only one. We've lost a Seer, a Goth (no big loss there) and villagers galore and nobody has any idea who the wolfies are (except jav6454 and his furryness percentages).

We don't know how many werewolves are out there but we do know that the vampire hasn't found the other Goth.....yet.

Are both hunters still alive? And what about the Undertaker. Is he still out there somewhere or is he stuck in his own coffin permanently?

All I know is that we need to start being a bit smarter in finding the furry buggers before we all become wolfie filet mignons. (Ooooo, there's one for iBlues cookbook)

What good would that do? If the wolves haven't infected anyone yet, all they need to do is infect KMM and hey presto, he's gone to the dark side. Then we'd have to lynch him again, which would be a waste.

I think that it could be valuable if he got lucky and scanned a wolf last night, even if he just scanned another villager, that's one person we could mark off the list.

If we're still uncomfortable with him being back we could just as soon lynch him again and know that we haven't lynched another villager unknowingly.

The more I think about it, the more I wish that I had waited to vote... the best option for us as Villagers would have been to allow KMM to live at least one more day... if not that, then at least have waited long enough for him to have logged in to tell us the results of last night's scan.

We would have lost nothing to have waited to lynch KMM one day later... Even if he had scanned a Villager, our odds of lynching another Baddie would have gone from 4/16 to 4/15. At best, he might have identified another Baddie.

If you're still reading this thread KMM, it might not mean much but I personally am sorry for my vote against you, not voting for you might have at least bought you another hour or two for you to log in and tell us who you had scanned last night.

That said, maybe the baddies have smartened up and all didn't vote for KMM... but I think at least a couple or maybe even a few of them did.

EDIT:

Regarding the Sorcerer resurrecting KMM:

If you're going to do it, don't do it now... save it for tomorrow. If you save it for tomorrow, then KMM can again be protected by the WW Hunter (if still alive) and thereby buy us two scans. He can also tell us who he scanned last night if he is resurrected tomorrow. So we can get back last night's scan and possibly two more.

the problem there is that your believing in the outed seer is still based completely on trust, and no hard facts. If the seer recited that 'oath' and than played for the wolves, it would be fully within the scope of the game (it actually would be the most 'honest' way to play)

I hear you and understand the risk. At some point in this game everyone must make a decision to trust someone. That's just how it goes.

However, all this talk about people playing an "ethical" or "honest" game has brought about things I hadn't before considered. Prior to this game I, possibly being naive, never thought that someone would play contrary to the nature and scope of their defined role as laid out in the game's instructions. Hence, my overly analytical brain is now reeling with all these new possibilities.

You ain't alone. I can't wrap my tiny brain around this one. I missed a few pages when the other game started, and haven't come back to catch up. Now that's finished, I'm trying to pay attention better, but that doesn't mean much at this point

I think this FUD paranoia only plays into wolf hands. I still kind of can't believe so many of you opted to lynch the seer on the off chance they were turned.
