Wait, is that deadline right? THURSDAY at 2am? (as in, late "tonight"?) It seems a day short being as the day switch was 35 hours ago. Shouldn't that be Friday 2am? (or am I sampling my baked™ goods too much?)

Oops, you're right. Friday 2 AM. Jesus my brain is ****ing fried.

ravenvii moved us to a 48-hours 'night'. i believe it's good move, as probably we'll go to the deadline almost everytime as there is little incentive to switch votes to reach an absolute majority

Appleguy123 I wish that the prayer had been a bit more limited though, we have a few too many suspects right now. Although at least we're better off than we were last game. Just speaking my mind right now, but it will be interesting to see if the werewolves go to off those who were included in the prayer or if they go for those who were not.

in hindsight you are right. it's too bad jav didn't change the prayer in time.
the overall chances to randomly lynch a bad guy (excluding the goths and infection from the calculation) is 3/11 in general (no jav), or 3/10 for any of the goodguys and 3/8 for the NW members (since they can for sure exclude 3 people).
after the prayer it is only 1/7 'guaranteed' or 1/6 if you are a good guy and you are one of the 7 (of course better if there are NW in the 7).

in other words, the chances of randomly getting a bad guy 'for sure' is 30% if we ignore the prayer and it is 17% (Worst case scenario, just 1 bad guy) or 34% and 50% (better and best case with 2 and 3 baddies in the 7) if we pick in the 7.

probably a better question would have been something like "is the majority of the really bad guys included in the top 6 of the list?"
If yes you go for the top list, if no for the bottom. but as they say, hindsight is 20/20. lesson learned for next time.

I'll be voting for Appleguy123.

I would still caution against voting for me. While my role is not vitally important for the success of the good guys, it will make finding the wolves and vamps harder.

update of votes:

appleguy123...4: (jav6454, rodimus prime, nathanmuir, ibookg4user)
philbeeney.....3 : (iBlue, don't panic, appleguy123)
nathanmuir.....2: (stonyC, cBoss)
iBlue..............1: (pheelbeney)

did not vote yet : mscriv, mexbearpig,
of note, these are the same two without a vote last round. i have to say that this pontius-pilatesque approach of not getting one's hands 'dirty' doesn't sit too well with me ;) get in the fray already :D

I agree, I'm all for starting with them once we weed out the baddies in the top seven.

wait, day started tuesday morning t 2 am, so this morning was 24 hours and tomorrow morning (thursday), 2AM is 48 hours.
i think it was right the first time.
DP

Lynch voting is over a 72 hour time period, not 48, so the deadline would be 1:47am on Friday morning. ** All times are EST **

Let's hope this game isn't affected by the Apple DST Bug.

so we didn't switch to a 48-hours day? :disappointed: I thought we did and if we didn't we should.
72 hours is way too long, and it just means we have 24+ additional hours of nothingness, with no one willing to change their votes, to stay off the radar and little to zero postings, for the same reason.

eally, even if it was a mistake, i think we should stick by the posted deadline time

I was under the same impression that we were on a 48 hour system. I agree with DP if that helps change the time frame.

Easy boy ;). I may not be posting but I have been keeping up quite well. And my vote goes to iblue. No hard evidence. Her posts just seem...sketchy to me.

jav, can you intone another prayer
to get the sun to travel a bit quicker in our mrumorean land? :D

edit: see mex, it wasn't that hard. ;)
now just my buddy mscriv being his usual primadonna-self, coming in fashionably late with drama andthunder

Sigh. I fully expect the mob mentality to kick in at any second and I'll be lynched. I'll contribute my thoughts for right now. Philbeeney is claiming that the people voting for him want a plain old villager out of the way. With Jav being the priest, the only other plain villager role is the neighborhood watch. I don't think that someone in the NW would call themselves a plain villager, as there is so much to be lost by revealing that role, so revealing the lack of a special role would be suicide for the village. Very suspicious, and that might be all that I get to say before I am lynched.

Thank you for your honesty about your role.

Sheesh... you try to take some time and actually think through what is going on and people get all upset. Some of us like to analyze and work through things. Taking our time doesn't mean we're guilty of anything, especially since in this game we don't have to reach the magic majority number. Someone is going to get lynched no matter what now that we have the new rules in place.

Seems like a decent theory, but you fail to give any sort of defense based on your own role. Would you care to state why it would be important for us to keep you around and vote for someone else?

Sorry friend, I only possess the almighty power of drama. Unfortunately power over thunder is not within my grasp. That sure would be cool though. ;)

As far as a vote, well since we are nowhere near the majority number needed and we have some time before the deadline, I would like to allow a chance for appleguy123 and others to possibly provide for more of a defense.

Thank you Nathan, that's enough for me... I withdraw my vote on NathanMuir this round.

guilt you guys into participating more :)

I don't want to talk about my role right now. It would mean just as much to bad people( I don't want to be infected and betray you guys later in the game) as it would to good people.
Voting for me would not be the wisest choice, especially considering that if Philbeeney be a member of NW (only plain villagers out there) it may even be a good idea to vote him off for the protection of the rest of the NW. That said, I think that he's something bad as admitting to being in the NW would be a really stupid move.

That is odd in itself. I remember another wolf (nathan) doing that in another game and it was how we figured out he was a wolf
*shrug*
That he was willing to admit to aspects of his role is enough for me right now. Could I vote for him again? Maybe, but he has at least given me enough to pause and re-consider, which is what I promised to do previously.

Let's get back to what we learned from Jav's question...

We know there is at least one WW or Vampire among the first seven players in the original post. I am included in that list. I am also not a Vampire, Goth or a WW. If the need arises, I will divulge my role and will try to prove it.

Am I completely convinced of NathanMuir's innocence? No, but he's done enough in my opinion to cause me to scrutinize others a little more. Personally, I'd like to hear more from iBlue, Don't panic and iBookG4user... but someone who is re-concerning my is philbeeney.

Let me re-cap what I saw...
- iBlue commented on the possibly that philbeeney could be a WW again, he immediately turned around and voted for her.
- iBlue voted for philbeeney in retaliation, at which point philbeeney alluded to his status as a "plain ol' villager".
- this raised immediate suspicion in iBlue, followed by philbeeney commenting that some villagers were more "villagery" than others.
- Don't panic then voted for philbeeney, which was followed later by a post from philbeeney stating that votes against him would be a waste and again re-iterated that he was "plain ol' villager". He also stated that anyone who voted for him could not be good guys themselves for voting against him as a "plain ol' villager".

There are couple of things that I draw from this:
1) both iBlue and Don't panic are in cahoots against philbeeney (re: "great minds think alike" comment by Don't panic).
2) philbeeney is part of the Night Watch.
3) philbeeney is lying about being part of the Night Watch.

Philbeeney's initial comments about being a "plain ol' villager" did lower my suspicion of him at the time... but his continued insistence on being a "plain ol' villager" seems rather... aggressive.

If he were actually part of the NW, why would he keep alluding to that fact? He puts the rest of the NW at risk by his infection. Further, his continued insistence that he is part of the NW by being a "plain ol' villager" is a very safe move. None of the NW can speak up to dispute his assertion without revealing themselves at the same time.

Sorry for the long post. I don't think iBlue and Don't panic are both WW because bloc voting would be an incredibly risky move if they were. Eliminate scenario 1. I also don't think philbeeney is part of the NW because continuing to insist that he is does nothing but put the rest of the NW in danger. That leaves philbeeney lying. Whether he is a Goth, a Vampire or a WW, I can't be sure... but I don't think he is part of the good guys. His posts have gotten increasingly aggressive (his second to last post basically challenged everyone to vote for him) because I think he is trying to hide that he is a baddie. Philbeeney has my vote.

Ok, time to start another prayer.... (I know it won't work)

*inhales*

In order to perform this ritual, I sacrifice the corpses of chrmkenkins and lbro in order to bring forth my last question...

Gods of the sky please hear my cry,
bring down your judgement and light
show us the truth up from the sky
grace thy humble servants with your presence in this fight!

Great Gods of MRVille appear!

Now for the question:

Do we get to have new MBPs if the villagers win?

PS - I would like to point out, that philbeeney does not raise any suspicion in the fur-o-meter. Yes, it's working.

Question about your voting record stonyc/Ravenvii. Since anyone can edit the lists, the seer could anonymously post the results of his scan. something should be done to either endorse or prohibit that so that we don't have any issues in the future.

Excuse me Mr Panic, but if you're going to do the vote count, can you please spell my name properly. That's all I'm asking. Thanks. ;)

As for stonyc, well what can I say. I lost count of how many times you mentioned my name. What's the matter? Are you scared that I'll somehow out you as a bad guy? What are you, the Vampire? C'mon, let's see what you're made of.
