Fair enough, it was my misunderstanding. I haven't played since the werewolf days (with vampires) so there are quite a few roles that I really can't get my head around.

This means that we have even less to go on than I thought!

FenrisMoonlight - Squire in service of the King's Justice

twietee, my liege, if you wish me dead, I shall commit suicide in your honor! I, brave ravenvii, whose name shall be sired upon his death!

*traitors cheer in background*

Ignore them, twietee! It is you I serve, not the Loyalists!

It's obvious I'm going to get lynched. So why not? You'll just go "man! I was SO sure ravenvii was a traitor! But a loyalist voting for himself is bad gamesmanship (which is admittedly true :p)!"

I'll change my vote if the landscape changes.

You only had 3 votes before you voted for yourself. And the vote doesn't close until tomorrow. Just saying. Make your case, but if you're a loyalist, fight for it.

Twietee and SilentPanda seem to be trying to make a case for you to be executed but doesn't really seem to be that many people going along with it.

I'm a loyalist. This is fact, as factual as fact can get.

But a traitor would say the same. So I have no proof. All that remains is the fact that I essentially sacrificed Plutonius to save my own skin, and thus am now in service of twietee to atone.

Until I decide otherwise, anyway.

She's right. You only had 3 votes with a lot of people left. Make a case for someone else and try to get other people on board.

I understand some of the reasoning behind voting for you - it's been done before in the early rounds to gain some more information. But I'm not sold on it. Especially with so many possibilities out there and so many people who still haven't voted this round. It's still going to take a few more rounds to really start getting anything from the votes.

I'm going to start with Koodauw....

Twietee and SilentPanda make a somewhat convincing case for Ravenvii, but I am still not completely convinced. However, I have no alternative theory at this time.

Guess I need to really look over the last couple (game)days and figure out who I am going to vote for. Would make it whole lot easier if the traitors would just fess up!

This is absolutely my thoughts also. ravenvii is likely a loyalist (odds are we're all loyalists since it's what... 4/17 at this point?). I'm not completely convinced he's a traitor... I just got nothing better. I could vote for somebody else with the reasoning of "random" and feel have just about the same confidence level as voting for ravenvii. I'm not asking anybody to vote for him. I'm simply (simply as in making two pages worth of posts back and forth!) just stating why I'm voting for him over others.

Can you please tell us what made you think of Pluto being that much more suspicious than Sythas when you voted for him to save yourself?

Don't understand why you vote for yourself now either. No reason to sway away, but of course it is most likely that you're a Loyal than anything else. That said, there is one strong reason not to lynch you (today): self-preservation. If you really are a Loyal, SilentPanda an myself will be put in focus and that'd be a risk. Especially since I think SP is a goodie this time :)mad:). So I'm willing to change my vote and there is no point in giving up, ravenvii, if you ask me.

----------

Well, think I got the deadline wrong reading all these posts, seems like only 19min left.

I've re-read the last few pages to give myself a sense of what is going on, what is thought by some (and why) and what votes have been posted and for whom.

Two things strike me here: the first is that I'm not at all convinced by the putative beginnings of a bandwagon for ravenvii. The second is that I am actually more than a little suspicious of it.

Usually, when someone implies it might not be a good idea to off them on a cart destined for the lynch mob, they are taken at their word, rather than targeted by their own side out of a misguided and witless expression of murderous collective action.

This is because, 1) it tends to be a bad idea to murder anyone who may possess useful skills. (That is, if you are a villager/loyalist; the other side are thrilled with this as it allows them to successfully identify those whom they need to take out early, without wasting weeks in an attempt to obtain this information).
2) Such remarks only tend to be made when someone is close to being lynched; thus, at most, it tends to save them (and their skill) for another day or two because they have been outed as having some sort of role, which makes them a perfect target. Otherwise, with good reason, they prefer to remain silent.
3) There is the Plutonius perspective (i.e. go to your lynching remaining silent; this means you may die earlier; the village/castle/spaceship loses your skills (unknowingly) but the baddies are left unsure of what has happened as they cannot be sure of the identity of the deceased.
4) There is the old WW cunningly disguised in sheep's clothing tactic; it takes nerve and chutpaz to pull this off, and can only credibly be carried off if the original bearer of the role in question is safely dealt with.
5) Usually, when you vote for yourself, it is because you think the witless mob are not prepared to listen, because they have the bit of bloodlust between their stupid dentures.

I fear that we have lost a valuable member of the community with the murder of Tomorrow, and I further regret the early murder of DP, who is invaluable.

Let us not add to this catalogue by voting off ravenvii; for now, I'll bold the name of the inestimable philbeeney

It would be rather disappointing for someone with useful skills to give up that easily, not adressing one of the points we mentioned, finally voting for himself with only 3 votes (!).

Also, I really don't see a bandwagon here. SilentPanda and I explained quite lenghty why we voted for him (Fenris too at the beginning, but somehow changed his mind - I wonder why). Costabunny being the only one who 'just' followed. Ravenvii is guilty of 1/4 of this 'bandeagon' himself, too.

No. I disagree. If you feel that it is a bandwagon, change your vote. The case against him is not strong, and the possible case for him is worth heeding.

For my part, I think the votes for ravenvii are catastrophically, wrong-headedly stupid; I fully understand his response - I've done that myself when the burden of proof, or persuasion, falls on the accused, and, having made your case, you are invited to repeat it ad nauseam.

Yes, and if ravenvii changed his vote for himself (which I recommend that he do), three others, despite what he inferred, persist in voting for him, rather than asking questions of the mute majority, some of whom are content to post little, extract as much a=information as possible, and then strike, to lethal effect.

I don't think this is a bandwagon and I do believe this more about suicide than anything else. If he'd be a special why voting for Pluto? Why voting for himself?

And your reasoning for your vote was what?

I thought we reached the deadline already btw.?

Following is all i can see us far. I am still a bit flumoxed as to what actions are suspicious or not :(

I think im am in over my head, but trying to read into what you veterans are saying.

I really dont see the implications for each of the people whose names have been put forward as potential traitors :( weep

(And sorry if my inexperience spoils the game).

Why not vote for Plutonius - even if you knew he was innocent - in order to save yourself? And yes, out of disgust, I, too, have voted for myself when about to be lynched and innocent (not that it made a blind bit of difference). When the mob gets its blood lust going, reason disappears.

There comes a time when you get tired of explaining, especially when you have volunteered - ever so reluctantly - a piece of information which ought to suggest to anyone with functioning brain cells that this particular candidate does not merit a vote for the gallows at this particular point in time.

From my perspective, two things are of some slight concern; as I'm not in the US, nor from the US, and not at all familiar with the time zones, I have no idea of what time the stated deadline actually is, whether it is now, tomorrow, tonight, or whenever. Normally, I am in Europe and can extrapolate (roughly, give or take an hour or two) what time it might be on the east coast of the US (how many time zones are there on the east coast?) At the moment, I am based in Asia, so am in - quite literally - a very very different time. For those of us who are not US based, maybe a reference as to what the time zone currently used by the GG with regard to GMT, (as in GMT minus whatever), would be awfully helpful.

The second is that the week end is now over. Unless my calendar and clock are completely askew it is now Tuesday. Yes, we have lives, busy, busy, lives, but I must express concern at those who are coasting, not posting, and not being called out on that in any way, while those who have offered an explanation, however, coded and opaque, are viewed as suspects.

I vote for skepticalscribe. Their lengthy post on how they can't possibly understand when the deadline falls despite posting from a computer that evidently has internet access and therefore all the answers that the internet can bring.

Their complaint strikes me as a needless subterfuge and therefore I choose them.

It'd have made more sense to vote for Sythas instead of Pluto in ravenvii's case - especially if he's a precious special. If you play that way - even twice now with his suicide vote - I don't regret voting for him. It's selfish imho and being gutted because three people voted for one without offering a minimum of defence is no excuse for me.

I disagree about your bloodlust argument.
