Nobody cares. It's a poster designed to drum up anticipation. You can give it an "F" grade if you wish.

Agree. These semantics are pointless: this is from the company that brought you the "funnest" iPod ever.

Given iPhone OS is the newest architecture with an expanding writer base it makes far more sense to focus on it. Besides, there's a hell of a lot of media interest too to capitalise on.

We've had recent Mac updates - underwhelming maybe - so why have more?

I can't believe that everyone's missed out on the DaVinci Codesque hidden meaning of the banner slogan "One year later. Light-years ahead."

It's obvious that it is a clear signal of the imminent arrival of the lighted Apple logo on the back of the new iPhone!

Finally - - it's the flagship hardware upgrade that everyone's been clamouring for!!!

i think quite a few people of thought that.. your the only one to claim its "DaVinci Codesque"...

That's funny, I was thinking the same thing...not sure if that is what it will be, but would be way cool.

There is literally no point in talking about a banner motif.

Ok, so we'll talk about how motif is the improper word to use. A motif is a recurring element which symbolizes an idea - hard to accomplish in two sentence fragments.

Well Apple has a major problem on the horizon and that's Windows 7. I've been using it for about a month now in Bootcamp and it makes OS X look sick (in fact I'm posting this using it now with Firefox). It is fast, reliable, easy to use and works great. If Apple doesn't come out with Snow Leopard soon and if it isn't competitive with OS X in features and appearance, they've lost all the advantage they had over Vista. I also think the iPhone is last year's product, it's about run its gamut IMO. Making a big deal over cut and paste and even an improved camera is rather sad IMO. They need to come out with something big. If no new Mac hardware and if Snow Leopard is a disappointment (the features I've seen so far seem really boring) then Apple is going to be in for a hard time this Christmas with Win 7 selling like hotcakes. Whatever happened to the innovative Apple of a few years ago?

they should make the keynote longer... i really have no problem with a 3 hour keynote... split it in half with an intermission...the first half all the new iphone stuff, second half all the new computer stuff. who would complain? seriously?

That's exactly what they did last year. The first half was the iPhone "dog and pony show", then they cut for break and did a Snow Leopard State of the Union afterward. The difference is they didn't broadcast the Snow Leopard talk. (It was Bertrand, so you couldn't understand him anyway.)

Hi guys i live in the UK and i just wonder where it is possible to watch the conference live? Preferably a web link, as i don't expect any of the freeview channel (a free TV Package in the UK) will be broadcasting it. Thanks (sorry if this counts as hijacking a thread )

You can't watch it live. Apple will post a video afterwards. Some sites like Gizmodo will provide live blog updates.

Yeah, you have to buy one if you do not want to be charged again for re-downloading an iphone app :)

That only affects the stuff you re-download after using a redeemed (promotional) code, which sort of makes sense. If I want someone to test my app and I give them a promo code I don't want them to get free updates for life! I just want them to use the specific version of the app that I'm asking them to test/review.
