They should make one made out of liquid metal and call it the M-1000.
It's selling feature would be that it turns into Shirley Manson!!

I may be incredibly wrong but from my quick sizing over the invite picture. It would appear that the MacBookPro is a far closer match to Invite than the Macbook?
Thoughts. ? (like i said i may be incredibly wrong, as the apple logo does look smaller on the macbook pro.)
Boxod.
Plastic doesnt dent and I can give you my signature that alu will be much more visible regarding scratches...
I'll be buying a MacBook on Tuesday. Hopefully there will be an option for a dedicated graphics card.
I'm off the London Apple store on Wednesday
I'm so happy...I've had my MacBook since last xmas but seing as I just started uni and got a student loan plus an unexpected scholarship I've decided what the heck! I'm gunnu get a MBP I think
I hope the new one does get the rumored glass touchpad! Would be great with all the gestures!
wow that is ugly. all aluminum or bust.
Apple is going Al so get use to it. Al is more enviro friendly.
I'm worried. I really need to make that purchase on Wednesday! I hope not too many other people are at the store!!
The situation is that aluminium reduces the sensitivity of wireless network cards in Apple laptops.
Apple laptops have very strong wireless reception to begin with, so it's not surprising that even their aluminium products outperform your PC laptops. However, if you put a plastic Apple laptop next to a metal Apple laptop, the plastic will get better reception.
This is a well known fact. Regardless of whether you care about what anyone says...![]()
Not a chance. That would require Apple to make two separate logic boards, one w/ integrated video and one w/o. That would be too expensive and complex. If you want a graphic card then that is what the MBP is for.
Amen. I'm sick to damn death of hearing iPhone and iPod crap! It's nice the spotlight has turned to Mac.It's about time they enhanced the computer line. Over the last year, all we've heard about is "iPhone iPhone iPhone" and ipod updates
OK... I like the picture. To me, it seems too similar to the current gen MBP. Perhaps this won't be such a big deal in terms of redesign. Perhaps this will be focused on consolidating the notebook line. Let's say the 12 model rumours are true.
Bottom Model - 11-12" MacBook. Comes in 3 price points
Middle Model - 13" MacBook. Come in 4 price points, 2 for aluminium, 2 for black (look at the nanos, apple is now offering colours on lower models to get sales). This also alows them to have greater price difference between the MacBooks and the Pro models.
Top Model - MacBook Pro. 5 price points. 2 11-13" Model, 2 15" and the 17".
This way Apple are offering a smaller, lighter, cheaper option (the $800 rumours), their standard 13" consumer laptop and then both a smaller, lightweight pro model and their usual pro options.
All the notebooks will be aluminium, have the black keyboards, LED backlit screens and prices will drop by around $100-$200 in each model.
We need to slow down and stop fantasising (despite the fact that we all (especially me) can't stop)!!
5 days...

That was sort of what I was talking about when I said that if it was gonna be a 13" MacBook (based on the size of the logo) there didn't seem to be any room for the iSight above the top of the screen...
...hence my wild speculation on a screen with integrated camera!![]()
I don't think it's a 13.3" anything. Taking the jpeg and crop the computer out, you'll find the pixel-dimension of what's displayed is 313p x 207p, and theis 34p wide. Assuming the
is 1.5" wide, that makes the computer to be 13.85in x 9.13in. That's diagonally 16.58", which is exactly what current 15" MBP measures.
An interesting sidenote...the invite could be a 13 inch MacBook ...Pro.
