I'd love to, but you guys have become so completely harmless that it's like getting all pissed off about a Pomeranian biting at your ankles. At first it's sort of annoying, but then you begin to laugh at the absurdity of this little dog doing everything in it's power to take you down. :p:p

Touché.

Badandy is pissed off because his beloved Trojans were cheaters and were caught and are now sitting out the post season for the next two years!

He is just a very unhappy college football guy right now.

Not at all actually. Just got my season tickets for this season and I'm really excited. I just want a top 5 finish and for the whole country to talk about how good we are and what we'd be able to do if we were eligible. It's the best we can make of it. Not mad in the slightest.

And if I remember correctly, you're the Alabama fan. Don't worry, I told your QB good luck this upcoming season on the phone a couple weeks ago.

Yea, I knew the bitter jealousy had to come from somewhere. Makes a ton of sense now.

Bitter jealousy? Sorry, I'm not jealous of Florida, and I'm most definitely not jealous of Tebow. I was merely remarking that it is pathetic how your username is named after an overrated, pretentious meathead who only made a name for himself by sexually pleasing Urban Meyer during half-time breaks.

Do you have any idea how incredibly idiotic those comments are?

No kidding, if you don't mind me asking how do you know him? or was it an interview or something...?

Classic line of the day..... what is even funnier is he probably did. Sorry no love loss for anything out of Florida..none at all!

He was a good childhood friend of mine before he moved out to Texas. My mom wouldn't let me play tackle football with him when he started in Pop Warner league, lol.

Have you been to TCU? That school has crazy money. And incidentally, unbelievably hot women. :D

Yeah, I know they have crazy money. If I remember right, that $105 million was raised between just 39 donors!! That's insane!

I'll admit I'm jealous of them in that regard. I wish Boise State had access to that kind of money. It's probably going to take a National Championship for us to be able to upgrade our stadium again. Granted, we just built our press box, which is really nice, but it looks so out of place on that stadium. Heh. It makes it look very lopsided.

...yeah, I've heard most Texas schools have very attractive women. I'd still never live there though. I can't imagine living somewhere flat. I need my mountains. :)

True on both counts. I've spent quite a bit of time over in the 817 and seen it plenty of times.

And I think their undergraduate student body is only like 6,000 students or so. Amazing.

You should see the ladies here - know how they say everything is bigger in Texas?

Unless when you say "mountains" you mean the geographical feature.

Check out this list of Top Ten Things to look forward to this college football season. There's a lot of NSFW language there, so what are you doing reading at work anyway? :) This is funny and sad because some of it is so true.

Check out the link here.

^^^^ bwahahaha! That's hilarious. And like you said, much of it is so true.

I think it's time for Kustra (our University president) to tuck tail and run "Bac to the WAC"

I've had misgivings about the move from day one, but ultimately accepted it as providing better competition. Then Utah bails, and now BYU. Stupid.

So the MWC invites Fresno and Nevada. Now our move to the MWC is a completely lateral move, but with an atrocious TV contract.

The elitist MWC had absolutely no interest in ever adding Boise State until they realized they were about to lose Utah. So they invite us in desperation, and Kustra jumps without thinking. Pathetic.

The ONLY good thing that could potentially come of this is that once BYU leaves and Fresno and Nevada join up, it will (apparently) contractually obligate the MWC to renegotiate their TV deal, which hopefully will allow ESPN to come in with some money and get rid of that pathetic excuse for a TV deal.

At least there will be no more wasteful trips to Honolulu and Ruston.

Ugh.

It's been reported that Fresno has already unofficially accepted, but all WAC schools signed $5 million buyout contracts once Boise State left. I have no idea how a school that just made their head football coach take a pay cut due to budgetary reasons could possibly pay a $5 million penalty.. ?

Well....at least CSU can start winning MWC titles again lol

Nevada and Fresno are in the MWC.

Will BYU still go?

The WAC now has to invite two schools in order to keep operating as an FBS football conference.

Crazy.

EDIT: One of the side notes in that article I linked to above it says not to expect any sort of move to an ESPN TV deal. Fantastic.

EDIT2: It also says Boise State played a role in getting Nevada and Fresno to defect, but without knowledge of the $5 million buyout contract. Interesting.

Gary Patterson always makes me laugh. Just part of the reason why I love the guy as a coach. :)

Too bad he's a blowhard that doesn't know what he's talking about. First he says no team has ever made a BCS bowl with 2-3 losses, then realizes his mistake and says only Florida has done it, then realizes his mistake again and says he's only interested in the national championship. Hey Gary, despite all of those things...it was LSU.

Still, he's got to be frustrated that he's had so much success and TCU still isn't wanted by the Big 12 (note the Freudian slip).

If they can get a Notre Dame-like deal with the BCS (even if it isn't as good as ND's deal) and make more money as a football independent, they'll leave. If they can't get either of those things, they won't.

Some of the pundits are now postulating that the MWC will invite Houston to give TCU a regional rival and add a big market. It would be an okay move as long as they realize that UH has a tiny fanbase and doesn't control the Houston market (UT and A&M dominate it, LSU is third).

The WAC now has to invite two schools in order to keep operating as an FBS football conference.

Crazy.

I think the WAC is probably screwed if BYU doesn't join them in the other sports. Short of merging with the Sun Belt, I don't see anywhere they can add teams from. There aren't anyone other small west coast/mountain schools.

Well....at least CSU can start winning MWC titles again lol

After last year's 3-9 (0-8), it's going to take more than BYU leaving for CSU to start winning titles again. When was their last one, anyway?

Maybe 02? People forget CSU is what made the MWC known in then mid 90s and early 00's cracking the top 20 numerous years and winning bowl games
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colorado_State_Rams_football

This was before the rise of Utah and BYU

CSU is just in a lull lol, but yes, not in a position to win any this year

In my perfect world Fresno and Nevada wouldn't have accepted the MWC invitations, allowing BYU to make it's move official, then forcing Boise State to look for an invitation back to the WAC. When/if that happened TCU would then look at the WAC and rejoin making the WAC a 10 team football conference.

The MWC would be in very serious trouble at that point.

But, I can wish all I want...

I can't say I blame Thompson and the MWC though. The back-door dealings the WAC had with BYU is what prompted the possible disintegration of the WAC. Benson's just pissed that Nevada and Fresno ruined his admittedly creative plan.
