The iPad Pro is also the 11". So there is no special denomination for the largest iPad except for “12.9"”. This is opposed to the iPhone, were the larger size is named Max for the Pro and Plus for the non-Pro.
So you’re saying they should be calling it the iPad pro max instead of 12.9” Like the iPhone naming?

I still cringe at the thought of a smart watch being called "Pro".
Like the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro?

I guess this depends on your social circle. If you are rapper, it will be common for you to see many people with massive golden chain with diamonds on their necks. If you a lawyer, not so much. It is the same for watches. If Apple decides to release a bigger portfolio of Apple Watches in different sizes with different functionalities for every type of taste and necessity, they can do that. I think that a more universal solution that fits a wide variety of people and situations, is the fundamental characteristic of Apple Watch since its release. That's the reason why Apple invested so heavily on different case material, and bands specifically - a single watch suitable for the gym and going to a wedding or a business meeting, by just switching the strap. With the Pro model, that would no longer be the case, unless you want find yourself wearing a watch out of place.

They're still making smaller Apple Watches for the rest of us. This model isn't being made for Lawyers, its for hardcore athletes/sport enthusiasts who want giant screens with specialized health stats. Based on what Gurman has said, theres really not much more to this watch than its large size and "rugged" exterior.

The more leaks there are about the Watch Pro/Rugged/Whatever-it'll-be-called, the more I'm realising that this watch is not for me or any of my use cases. If any new sensors come to the regular Series 8, I may consider upgrading from my Series 6 but other than that I'll hopefully save some cash!

Jobs would have flipped out at them adding an extra button to the Apple Watch. I can see Ive not being happy at this and the recent parting of ways with Love From and Apple might be him distancing himself from what looks like the fall of product design within Apple and the rise of product marketing. Which effectively makes Apple no different from anyone else. Shame...

I kinda feel that Jobs would not like any watch himself and that the entire product would have been axed - or at least look very different from the original design from Marc Newson that the AW soaked up.

“Steve was aware of the Watch,” Bajarin told an audience of analysts, developers, and venture capitalists, reports Fortune. “He didn’t nix it as a product.”

And also in that article…

“Ive began dreaming about an Apple watch just after CEO Steve Jobs’ death in October 2011. He soon brought the idea to Dye and a small group of others in the design studio.”

and

"Whether Jobs knew about the early ideas of an Apple Watch isn’t really important though. It neither validates the wearable or makes it worse if Jobs didn’t love the idea."

So this really is just going to be made for obese Americans?

You want to save the environment Apple? Not catering to obese Americans would be a good start.

Sure, one of three watch models might fit on a bigger wrist. Big deal.

Right. So it comes down if Tim Bajarin is accurate or not.

Yup and in direct contradiction with what I’ve and Dye stated in the article mentioned there, hence proceed with caution especially when that person couldn’t specify how much SJ knew about it. If I recall SJ didn’t wear watches himself.

I don’t really understand why everyone thinks 49mm is massive. I have fairly thin wrists for a guy and my 44mm series 5 looks totally normal. A 49mm would still completely fit on the surface of my wrist… and even if it didn’t it’s not like there aren’t a ton of watches that size or bigger on the market smart or not.

Larger screen size and what else? Extra button?? the Apple Watch is already fine, if they want to charge more they’ll have to come up with something better. I’m almost a pro athlete, I use my Apple Watch for metrics, not for having a big screen size ( I’m doing sports, remember that apple?). Let’s see what they have…
