Have you tried any of the following?

Delete the youtube app and re-download it.
Reset network setting.
Turn the phone on and off.

Thought I’d update you, since uninstalling and reinstalling the app I’ve had no issues. Should have thought of trying it myself. Thanks for reminding me to try it haha.
Seems the batter life may have slightly improved now too. But I’m keeping an eye on it, I’ve turned off a lot of background apps refreshing.

Have my black one for 5 days now and I love everything about it.
Coming from a seven is my first “big” iPhone and I am one of those preferring small phones for a long time. Even the 7 was a big leap of faith but once I got it, not so much.
Same with the xr. I just adjusted my behavior (not by much) without really noticing.
Now I’m enjoying how much nicer reading and typing is.
I have big but not super big hands and often find myself using the xr one handed.
It’s similar to the 7 then: it mostly works but sometimes it is a little too big to handle.
But to me the important thing is: it does not show this behavior in any additional situation compared to the 7.
Screen, speed, cameras...all of them amazing!
To me a very, very good upgrade coming from the 7 (which with ios12 still was quite perfect also).
I admit I do love Animojis and they work super good (great if you have kids).
And Face ID alone is worth the upgrade, it’s like not having to have a passcode at all.
It will just unlock without me noticing it after a while.
Could be a little lighter but I look at it as finger strength training ;)
I can hardly imagine anyone not being satisfied unless he receives a faulty device.
Might sound like a fanboy but indeed at least an xr-fanboy i have become.
Feels good.

So my Xʀ has slow WiFi. Just done a side by side comparison with an SE both on my home WiFi network - SE gets 17mbps, Xʀ gets 7.

Tried again in another room, SE gets 27mbps, Xʀ gets 3.

A reset sorts it out but a bit later it’s back to the same.

Any ideas..?

Does anyone who owns an XR 'care' if it fails sales wise?

There seems to be so much hype about this one being a flop in particular

I would be sad because it’s the only iPhone I can use now that offers just about as much power and capability as the most expensive of the iPhones. I get severely ill trying to use the OLED models.

I also love the colors offered. I’m afraid of Apple going back to boring conservative colors exclusively.

I love the hardware, but as I have posted elsewhere on the forum iOS is making my Xr and my iPad mini 4 experience a lot of crashes and freezes and even occasional overheating in various different apps and a bit of decrease in battery endurance. I will wait and see if another iOS update fixes things again.

But the hardware itself is superb. I would love to see it succeed.

I don’t know how I feel on this. If it does fail then that could force Apple to lower the price or make a better product. But if it does I don’t want Apple to drop LCD’s altogether as it’s the only current iPhone I can use to avoid eye strain/headaches. Unless I wanted to use an older model, which I don’t want to do.

I really hope it succeeds. I think it needs to succeed because I fear that if it doesn't, the upward trend of ever more expensive phones will continue. I also think that Apple should continue making LCD-based iPhones, another reason for XR's crucial success. I say this as a happy XS user. This trend of $1000+ phones is ridiculous and needs to stop but of course Apple, as a business, will milk it till there's nothing left.

What are you using to test the speed? Are you sure the Xr isn't downloading stuff (like app updates or other stuff) in the background while you are doing the test?

No, none with mine.

I had to go into hospital recently for cancer treatment and took my XS Max with me. I soon realised how frustrating it was to get anything done except the basics. I doubt the XR would have been any better, but it mainly came down to the size of the screen. 6.1" should be all you need but I was having problems even with the XS Max. I would have taken my MacBook with me but this particular hospital stopped its free wi-fi.

Back in the real world, I find the XR performs as well as the Max.

I love the colour options, too and went for a 128Gb white.

That’s a fair point - no I can’t be sure, is there any way I could know that or check it?

I’m just using SpeedSmart app on both Xʀ and SE.

I think iPhone sales are down for both the Xs and Xr. I think the issue is people were hyping the Xr as the best value and when actual consumers were not flocking to the phone, the contrast was more revealing.

My kids like the Xr, heck, I like it as well, though its a tad thicker then the Xs.

This is exactly why I returned my XR and went with XS. Had the same problem. Created post about it but didn’t seem like people really cared.

Anyhow.

I’ve turned off automatic updates now, nothing should be downloading in the background, right now the SE gets 14mbps and the Xʀ gets 1.67

My screen is ever so slightly yellow at the bottom of the screen. It’s most apparent on white and light grey backgrounds such as the settings app.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I just got my XR today and yep, I see a very slight yellowing of my screen at the bottom. In addition there is a slight unevenness of backlighting, making the top right corner of my screen slightly dimmer. I emphasize on ‘slightly’ because if you weren’t paying attention you wouldn’t notice. I’m probably nitpicking here. I don’t want to have to play the lottery game by exchanging it for another unit so i’ll be keeping mine.

I think i’m one of those guys who actually prefers LCD over OLED (I upgraded from the X). My X OLED had a horrible reproduction of dark greys- they were blotchy and almost greenish in color rather than grey. My X OLED screen also had a pinkish tint along the right edge. I’m so glad this is all gone now with XR.

My XR had the exact same issue. It wasn’t very noticeable but it is one of those things that once you see it you cannot unsee it. It wasn’t the reason for returning my phone and getting the XS but it did bother me, especially coming from a perfectly even LCD screen on my old 7.

After a couple of weeks with your XR, have you guys noticed any problems?
Anything similar to the complaints about XS/XS Max?
- video playback choppiness
- LTE/wifi reception/voice clarity
- yellow screens
- dead pixels
- random freezes
- sharp edges?
I wish I can sell my xs max without losing money. I’d love to go with an xr.

With fear of jinxing myself: I actually haven't been able to find any issues on my XR. There's a minuscule yellowing at the bottom, but completely acceptable. I also notice that the backlight uniformity isn't perfect, or at least not as good as my Mini4. All in all still a fine display.

After a week with my White 128 Gig no issues here.

I wouldn’t be worried about it. I had a look through all the display XR’s at the Apple Store and all of them had some degree of non-uniformity in the backlighting as well as some minor yellowing near the bottom. I think a lot of this is to do with the anti reflective layer on the screen. If you tilt the angle of view slightly, it sort of shifts and goes away or look less noticeable.

I can appreciate that..

7.7mm for XS 8.3mm for XR.

*but* Negligible for me when I put on slim cases like Caudabe Sheath or even slightly thinner Dynex TPU because I'm used to using thicker cases on my X. the XR is apparently even more durable.

Holding both the Xr and Xs, the difference is quite noticeable. Not in a bad way, just different
