Got an LG display on this MacBook Pro and it's nice, but I've found there's a red tint in the top right corner. Anyone else see this? Thinking about getting it swapped.

Yup, saw this on two machines (red tint on right, green on left). Returned both.

So, after 2 weeks since this topic been started, has any of the users, who wrote that their LG screen is perfect, changed their mind over that time?

Thanks in advance for feedback!

Boo, My otherwise flawless Samsung screen (No Ir, No blacklight bleed etc.) started to show it's first dead pixel today after 16 days of use :(

Off topic, the left side of the case starts to goes louder (very loud now) in popping and squeaking when lift up or rest the palm on. Sound like plastic that breaks.

Just ran mine through the various tests I use for all LCDs.
LG LP154WT1-SJA1

Dead/Stuck Pixels: None

Backlight bleed: Minimal leak at the top, given the menu bar is generally up there I am not concerned.

Image Retention/Persistence: Ran a few tests, none.

The bleed isn't enough to play the exchange game, the machine is pretty close to perfect.

Great to hear! How long have you had this machine/screen?

Just back from exchanging that one, now have another LG display unit that seems to have a red tint down the left hand side.

One more exchange and then I'm going for a refund.

I went through 5 and gave up. The QC is just not there and, at these prices, it's unacceptable.

I have had mine for 24 hours now... and I definitely tested image retention and backlight bleed first if anything else.

LG LP154WT1-SJA1

Build week:
Week 7 (February) or week 34 (August)

Image Retention: absolutely none
Backlight bleed: absolutely none (tested in completely dark environment)
Dead/stuck pixels: absolutely none

Overall very happy with this machine. The screen looks far better (color-wise) than my old 15" Early 2011 Pro, which has a Samsung display.

Seems like more LG panels out there this month

As I already wrote somewhere - guess Apple listened to our complaints about 'selling two different products with different screens" and now unified their offer to 'everybody gets LG and things are equal again' ;)

Any issue with LP154WT1-SJA1. I run the test with different back grounds (90, 180 and 220 grey) after the black & white squares. The screen have any ghosting. Hope it will stay this way...

I buy this MacBook Pro Retina 2,3 Ghz in a store. It still have Lion, so, it's an *old* one.

I read a claim at the Apple Support forums that actually the Samsung screes where only used as backup when the demand is higher the LG can produce.

I must say, I aways had the feeling the LG screens where better then the Samsung's. Yes less brightness and less vivid, but more contrast and more accurate in my eyes. However the whole IR thing just sucks. Especially if it get worse over time.

I have always liked LG panels. I remember still when having Dell XPS - it was a dream of every user to get LG instead of AUO or Samsung. However Image Retention is not acceptable. I just opened my 3rd rMBP box. Of course - image retention is very visible after 10 minute test.

Just unboxed my 2.6/16/256 rMBP. I immediately checked the screen manufacturer and its a LG :(

However, I ran the checkerboard test for 15 min and so far so good.
Build week 35.
