iOS is the one really complicated. This is 2013, people have more than 1 computers, but you still can't sync music from more than 1 computers.

Yes you can.

It is still impossible for me to send one file from one app to other app ( for example, I downloaded a movie from my torrent app and there is no way for me to send this file to my video app.)

It depends on the app. Some can, other's can't.

No you can't without using other applications. You still cannot do with iTunes.

Depends on app? The OS should figure out which application should used base in the file. If it is PDF, OS should provide me a list of all PDF reading app installed on this device. if it is a .mkv file, the OS should provides me a list of all video playing application. This should not be responsibility of developer, but rather OS should figure things out. If it can be done on Android, Windows, OS X, it can be done on iOS

It's down to the devs to use the API's provided by apple to do that. It's the responsibility of the dev, not apple, as apple made the API available. Why should apple waste anymore time when they've given the option.

Additionally, windows doesn't figure out what app will run an mkv, it's the app that tells windows......

As for syncing music, if you bought music via iTunes or imported your library via iTunes Match, it's not an issue.

That persons positive experiences hardly means he/she is mindless. I would say insulting someone with zero cause is much more mindless. LOL

Again, it should not be in hand of developer. It should over hand of Apple. Developer cannot know every single app on App Store. If I have a movie file, the OS should know it is a god damn movie file and it should able to determine that which app can play this movie file. If is a document file, the OS should know it is a document file. It is frustrating to use iOS sometime because it doesn't work well. Tell me why can't an OS do this basic thing?

Lots of people including me not buying music from iTunes nor they pay for iTunes Match. Apple should figure that out by now, I could not buy Japanese pop music from iTunes without buying those overpriced iTunes gift card nor I am willing to pay annual fee for iTunes Match.

In Android, all I need to do is drag and drop. Simple is that. Also on Android, I am able to open all my files with my installed app without any difficulties

This guy went to say that iOS 7 is great then claiming iPhone 4 runs iOS 7 better. But in the end, he said that he brought an iPhone 5 just for iOS 7.

If this isn't a mindless following, then I don't know what is

I'm excited. Not because I'm going to buy the new phone but because ios7 will make my iPhone 5 a new phone. I'm not a developer so installing iOS 7 for the first time will completely change my iPhone experience. Looking forward to it. Wouldn't be opposed to a new Apple TV but if not iOS 7 will do.

I'm in the same boat. I'm debating whether or not I'll try and hold out until the first update to iOS 7 or whether I'll install in as soon as it is available. It will be like getting a new phone without having to pay for anything.

I think you should reread the threads before you post insults so you don't say things to embarrass yourself. He/she never said iphone 4 runs ios 7 better.

Windows does not know an MKV file is a movie file unless you install an app and it associates file types to itself, why should iOS be any different? I presume Mac OS does the same as windows. You really don't get how it works. Also the dev doesn't need to know every app
In the App Store, you should research the API before you try and argue against it, as you just seem clueless.

If you follow the thread, you will know he is referring to the iPhone 4

Here is what is going on:

You'll like it that much more if you upgrade Plus iOS 7 will run better on it. I had a IP4 but bought an iPhone 5 just for iOS 7!

So the user asking how well does iOS 7 runs on iPhone 4, then thread starter claims iOS 7 run better on it.

After you installed the application associated with .mkv, You can choose to use this application from the list. Even if I installed app plays .mkv, I still cannot get that list and there is no way for me to import my .mkv files to my player (i.e, torrent app I am using called thunder and player I am using called GoodPlayer.). I don't have to research APIs, all I need to know is that I cannot do that.

That makes no sense. They're saying to upgrade to iphone 5 because ios7 works better on it.

The thread starter responding an inquiry about iPhone 4. And he said: You'll like it that much more if you upgrade Plus iOS 7 will run better on it. So he is referring to iPhone 4. He then said he brought an iPhone 5 just for iOS 7.

Regardless about iPhone 4 or not. A person buying a phone just for iOS 7 seems mindless to me

Exactly, the app makes the association on the desktop OS, if the dev has coded for it, iOS apps do the same, IF THE DEV has used the API, it's the dev's responsibility. They use the API and you'll get it on the list, like with PDFs opening in Adobe or Dropbox or whatever. You're still not getting it's the devs responsibility and seem clueless.

Makes perfect sense to me. Wants the best os to work on their phone. That's "mindless"???

Buying a 700 dollars phone just for an OS? WOW, you must have lots of cash to burn. If my phone works, I won't spend my money on a new phone just for the shinny new OS

No I would pay $199 or $299 (where the heck did you get 700 from??) and then sell my old iphone 4 on gazelle for $100+.

Not mindless. The newer phones have a huge trade in value. I consider it a good investment actually.

Excited yes but I have this strange feeling it will be disappointing. If Apple can prove me wrong then that's even better. I would like to see them have Pre-orders on the day of keynote and sell them on Friday but you never know maybe it will be the way it has been done in the past.

It looks like Amazon will be one of the 1st publishers to release a brand new iOS 7 version of their Kindle App..This prerequisite update implies this. Take a look and share your thoughts!

Usually am buzzing to see what's happening in the world of Apple, but this year I just feel a bit 'meh' about the whole thing. Every year brings more leaks so there's no surprises and the iPhone 5 just feels crap (with exception to materials used and iOS obviously) compared to the other products companies are bringing out. I honestly stay with Apple because of OSX and the rMBP and no other reason - I could live without my iPad and I am VERY intrigued by the Samsung Note 3. Can't help but think the 5S is going to be as lame as the 4S was to the 4.

Hoping to be proved wrong though.

I followed the note 3 news, what exactly is so intriguing about it? The ridiculously tacky faux leather back? It's basically an incremental update accompanied by their smart watch.

I think I'm more excited about the software this year (which is a good thing since it has been a long time since I got excited over iOS updates)

I'm a bit curious as to what the specs, pricing and availability of the 5C will be.

Aside from that, most of my excitement is of the "can't-avert-eyes-from-imminent-car-crash" kind - it'll be fun to see just how much unexciting stuff Mr. Cook will have to try and make sound like it's groundbreaking or new :D

I'm hoping that Apple will pick up the pace and get creative again next year.

A bigger, brighter and more precise screen in a phone that's slightly smaller and lighter + some quite groundbreaking software features for a touchscreen device, with the specs to make them all possible to run without lag.

I'm with you on the faux leather back though. That thing is an abomination, and I will switch it for another back as soon as I get the device.

Haha samsung's software? Groundbreaking? That's funny.

The device isn't even out yet, you don't know if it lags.

God why are there so many trolls these days.

Even if I will be following the keynote on tuesday , I am more excited about getting my hands on iOS 7 a few days later :D

I am a she btw, and I bought it because I wanted the IP5 as my IP4 was getting outdated to me! The iOS 7 was part of the reason as well! Who cares what the reason is why people buy new phones! It really none of anyones business LOL

LOL You are correct! I cant believe people are getting serious about whether someone buys a phone because of an OS system! I mean it makes sense...but I had more reasons than that :p

You sell your iPhone, just like I did and then buy the IP5..I sold it for $300 and then paid $200 for the IP5...And guess what Im buying the iPhone 5S outright because I cant upgrade until 2016..and giving this phone to my mom! And yes I have that amount of money to burn!

Something I do on a daily basis is listen to music on youtube, live versions and niche stuff I can't find anywhere else. Already on my Note 2 I can do this while reading an eBook, surfing the web, messaging or whatever, by simply activating the splitscreen mode. This kind of functionality is why I bought my first non-iPhone this spring.

And, on the Note 3, splitscreen is even better. Now we'll be able to for instance open a messaging partition on the screen, and pull pictures, text clips, links or whatever from a web page straight into a message. Aside from that, they've added some quite incredible text recognition for handwriting, where you can add handwritten text or numbers directly into the address book, an e-mail or whatever you like, and a Scrapbook where you can highlight any part of a webpage and save the content in a searchable interface, complete with metadata that lets you access the originating site later on.

This is all stuff that I consider both useful and fun, and quite groundbreaking if you compare it to the "new" stuff on iOS7's repertoire. And how can I say that these functions won't lag on the Note 3? Well, the original splitscreen mode is perfectly smooth already on the considerably less powerful Note 2. And no lag is visible on any of the hands-on videos already out, and has not been reported by any tech sites that have tested the Note 3.

You go ahead and call people "trolls" all you like, that hurt tone only makes you sound like you're not really confident in what you're saying.

Krissy, you don't have to explain your actions to anyone. It's your money and you can do as you please.
