Matter of interest, can you have signal bars on any other watch face other than explorer? If not how would you know it’s using LTE?
No, weirdly.

But you can tell from Control Centre.

Connected directly to Watch:

Connected to cellular:

Quick update guys. Just headed off to work and stppped halfway to check Lte. Four bars and made a successful call.
It’s strange that there is so much inconsistency with connections. I hope you all find a solution soon.

For anyone else having error 012 and my same situation as me which is:
- small business customer
- on consumer plan though as required (confirmed by 150 support as all ok)
- error 012 received since initial attempts to setup
- never received 007 or 019

Received watch on Monday, had the 012 error so rang the 150 number, was told 24-28 hours for someone to ring me back but they knew about the problem. Not expecting a call back though based on everyone else's experience. However I am seeing some people have had success with various things. None of them have worked for me though unfortunately, so I guess we do just have to wait or, it seems, some people have had luck making dozens of 150 calls and manually having things activated. Trying to get through to someone to manually activate things seems really hard on 150, I think they're pushing people off that as strongly as they can as I just rang again to try.

As someone else advised to try (who was advised by EE apparently), I deleted EE app, restarted phone, reinstalled app, activated app on 4G to send EE your new IMEI. Wait 24 hours for their system to refresh (hasn't quite been 24 hours for me to be fair). Worth a try as some people on the EE forums said it might be a quicker way of getting your IMEI to EE if that's the issue. Of course maybe the IMEI thing is a red herring but lots suggesting this is the cause of 012 for many.

So people are still having issues here? Was going to order the x and the watch together with EE end of october so hopefully connection issues are sorted by then.

Ordering an iPhone X through EE...

Hopefully it will arrive before the iPhone XI then. :p

I wonder if iOS 11.0.1 includes a fix for EE and other networks not receiving the required IMEI/EID info.

My Apple Watch finally works on the EE Network. What a nightmare that was... So much for Apple products 'just working'

Did you update to 11.0.1, or was it nothing to do with that and some other fix from EE? Assuming it’s just an EE problem as per that monster thread on the EE forums

So I called EE and they fixed they manually added my EID to the account - but now it says under mobile data that “Not in use - EE” and gives me an option to remove the plan!?

Anyone know what’s going on now?

Give it time, nearly there. Mine was the same, worked in an hour. That was in the morning though rather than late evening.

It now shows the plan as active on the phone - but it says no plan on the watch when I click on the cellular/Data icon and in general...? Did yours do that?

So they fixed my issue by doing an account refresh (whatever that means) and then taking my IMEI and EID numbers and putting them in the system. I then had to wait 30 minutes and restart the iPhone. I then had to unpair and re-pair the watch to the phone and this time everything worked.

Why they couldn't have done all of this last Friday I have no idea. It has taken probably 10 calls to EE Customer Support until I was eventually put through to Level 2 and a guy who appeared to know what he was doing.

Good to hear you've got it sorted - I've been following the long thread on the EE Community forums and, like many others, you've had a hard time getting it working.
I was very fortunate that mine went smoothly and worked first time. I'd only had my new iPhone on my SIM-only plan for a few days but it had obviously picked up my IMEI number. I activated it straight from the watch app with no calls to EE needed, and before I upgraded to 11.0.1.

D

Did you have to unpair and repair it?
No I just rebooted it.

Don’t unpair it because that removes the data plan and you will be back to square one.

You’re nearly there though. Someone has done something in the back end. Maybe they will finish it in the morning.

Yes that was the same for me. I had only moved to EE a few days before and my IMEI number was registered during that time and that made for a very smooth connection to my watch last night

This is where it is weird though - as I only moved to EE early last week - and yet mine didn't work at all...
