Whenever I take a road trip through the States I see billboards, posters, bumper stickers, flags, etc everywhere honouring and celebrating the armed forces. From an non-American perspective, every month appears to be Armed Forces Month down there.
I'm a Christian and I'm more offended by the prideful behavior than I am about their lifestyle. Pride isn't a good trait. Be it proud about your foot size, hair color, skin color (any color) or weight, it's annoying to tell everyone about how PROUD you are of something you have no control over for no reason. Imagine walking around touting how awesome you are for having longer second toes than your big toes? It's obnoxious AF and nobody likes it. I want a flag for my rhythmic movement disorder! I demand it... I was made fun of at camps because of my rocking at night. People NEED to know how proud I am of my RMD....

Emergency services day is a good idea, though.
I don't see Pride month going away. I see it evolving into something more like Mardi Gras/Carnivale: A month of celebration that everyone can enjoy, without having to be a part of the community.
Just like Christmas, there will be conflict between those who think we should drop the whole LGBTQ+ aspect of it and those who wish it would get back to being "pure" like they remember when they were younger.

Or are you just assuming because you’ve been taught in your echo chamber that if someone disagrees with you then they are “Part of the main stream, librulll media that’s all snowflakes and safe spaces”? If you only see conservative and liberal, then you hardly see anything in life.

I was challenging the idea that someone can "disagree with homosexuality" as if it is a choice someone is making any more than being born with blue or green or brown eyes is a choice.

When you come from a country such as mine where you can easily lose your job, stoned, maimed with a machete, or tied to a car bumper, dragged for miles to your death then shot on top of it, constantly threatened to leave your community, potential of losing family, exiled from your community, no right to hold hands or even show discrete affection - then you can have straight pride.
Maybe he wanted to wait until he was CEO, so that he wouldn't be as likely to get thrown off a building for being gay, like they do in the Middle East and communist countries.
