I get the unable to connect error as well.

I called Apple and they told me to wait a few hours as their servers are currently getting slammed with requests....so I guess I will wait until after work and then check.

This is extremely annoying - it's too bad all of this 'progress' has created this disaster - especially since I am paying for iTunes Match, but not getting any value for my money right now :/

grrr... "unable to connect to icloud music library" despite logging in and logging out...

It is probably just a "servers are overloaded" type day. As typical with Apple server issues, wait a few hours, days, weeks, months and then everything will be up and running again and they'll disavow any knowledge that there was ever even an issue (sorry for the cynicism).

I had to download the new iTunes 12.5.1 before continuing with the new IOS 10. The "gotcha" is that my music in iCloud is not longer available. Complete loss of connectivity with the new iTunes. Probably should have waited a few days as often advised.View attachment 651175

Now I'm pretty much hosed. Will wait a while, then roll back via Time Machine.

People are saying the iCloud Music issue is happening even without having updated iTuned

Looks like it is finally back.

iTunes update to 12.5.1 will not begin for me at all. When I try to update through iTunes itself it recognises that the update is there but does nothing after I click to Download.

When I try to use the Apple Software Update utility instead, it fails to recognise that the update is available.

Anyone else experiencing the same issue please?

Remember you need to update iTunes to 12.5.1 before you connect a device on iOS 10 or to update a device to iOS 10.

Anyway, following sbailey4's lead, I had to do a fresh install of iTunes from apple.com and can confirm that all of my Apps, Music etc have been recognised.

As an aside, as others will no doubt have said, I'm not impressed that it removes all of the Artist pictures except for those for Music purchased through iTunes however.

I almost had a heart attack with that shuffle and repeat buttons... If you didn't see them yet, press one of them on the middle-top of the itunes screen... o_O

Also, a lot of the time when I skip a track, the cover of the album I have open at the time flashes.. very annoying.

Any other change from 12.5 for Sierra users?

I get the cannot connect to iCloud library message all the time. Lyrics still need a lot of work, the credits are often pure fantasy I sure some artists will be pretty pissed off about that.

Still getting this error...

Has anyone else noticed at how awful the iTunes artwork for movies is now displaying. They're 2000x3000 but in the new Movie layout they look all pixilated.

On the other hand - TV Shows are perfect.

Update - the picture upload does not do it justice - it looks ok... but its not.

Unable to connect to iCloud Music Library. Same here? Any solutions?

Log out and log in again so iCloud Music Library start over.
That worked for me.

Thanks for the suggestion. Logged out, now it errors out just trying to log in.

Same thing happening in MAS, can't download new Xcode update, because it won't accept my account sign-in. Something seems to be effecting electronics today. Couldn't have a Skype call without losing connection (not normal as it was with business partners I regularly Skype with without issue, and my company's email server (godaddy) has been down all morning. I also noticed this morning that both my iPhone (6s+) and iPad Air stayed on the Night Shift coloring long past the 0700 time it was set to go back to normal. I had to switch it off and back on to get it to stay "normal".
[doublepost=1473798185][/doublepost]Got logged back into my account, but now getting a pop-up about Genius updates unable to be completed.

Yeah, I had this issue just prior to updating. Thought I would update and hope it corrected the issue, but it still exists after updating. I called Apple and they put in a ticket to the technicians. He told me the more tickets they get the more information they have to work from. Hopefully they can get this sorted out soon.

I think it has to do with their servers, in my opinion. I signed out of my account, signed back in then went to Preferences and turned iCloud Music Library Off and then back On. For about 4-5 minutes, all was well and my iCloud music library was loading and I could even play some of the songs. Then it lost connection again.
