I am not able to transfer my purchased songs from Apple Store to my cars hard drive and play them. Any solution to fixing this? All the other songs from CDs, other download sites work fine. I even try burning CD from iTune and then loading them in directly into the cars hard drive. No luck there either.
Assuming you have a Mac, you should be able to go directly to the music folder, which has folders for each artist, and inside folders for each album. Probably the same in Windows.

Remember you need to update iTunes to 12.5.1 before you connect a device on iOS 10 or to update a device to iOS 10.

Anyway, following sbailey4's lead, I had to do a fresh install of iTunes from apple.com and can confirm that all of my Apps, Music etc have been recognised.

As an aside, as others will no doubt have said, I'm not impressed that it removes all of the Artist pictures except for those for Music purchased through iTunes however.

I agree - I have put too much work into artwork for my Artist view to show nothing but a microphone for more than half of my artists. And I don't think your comment about which ones it works for is totally correct. I have artist that have a mix of albums, including ones that I have purchased and even those artist have no picture, just a microphone.

Guess I will have to make more use of the Songs or Album view, as they don't look as ugly.

I have empty smart playlists on iOS 10 after the update. All the songs are on the phone but the smart playlists are empty. Does anybody know why?

Yeah, I had this issue just prior to updating. Thought I would update and hope it corrected the issue, but it still exists after updating. I called Apple and they put in a ticket to the technicians. He told me the more tickets they get the more information they have to work from. Hopefully they can get this sorted out soon.

I think it has to do with their servers, in my opinion. I signed out of my account, signed back in then went to Preferences and turned iCloud Music Library Off and then back On. For about 4-5 minutes, all was well and my iCloud music library was loading and I could even play some of the songs. Then it lost connection again.

Well, I was using my iCloud Music Library on my Windows PC as an alternative until this is fixed, as I have NOT upgraded that PC's version of iTunes. But guess what - just started getting the connection error to the iCloud Music Library on that one as well.

It is probably just a "servers are overloaded" type day. As typical with Apple server issues, wait a few hours, days, weeks, months and then everything will be up and running again and they'll disavow any knowledge that there was ever even an issue (sorry for the cynicism).
And, by the way it only affected a small number of people, like every press release from Apple about self-created problems. Typical with their amateur hour software updates lately.
6S+ honked, now iTunes update honked iCloud Music I can't restore my 6S+, Guess now i'll go into my living room and update my Apple TV's cause what could go wrong??

The latest iTunes update is messed up badly. I updated it and it kept popping up iCloud error message about it not working. I could not play anything. I uninstalled it stupidly using Revo Uninstaller brute uninstal and it messed up my Windows Firewall. Thank goodness System Restore which I used for the first time and I was smart yesterday to create a restore point fixed the Windows Firewall.

Well after reinstalling the Windows updates uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling the POS it still does not work with the iCloud error message. The worst if that POS can't get worse is the fact that iTunes no longer remembers my windows position. When I open it is back to a small 800x600 window.

Calling Apple care they could not figure out anything. Well when they call me back tommorow I am going to beg them to give me back my $99 I stupidly paid for a year I want it back in my bank account. I am staying with Play Music which always works and I said I will only come back to Apple Music if they would come out with a proper web player like every other service out there has.

I'm in same position, just purchased the one year Apple Music card and cancelled GPM.

I used my credits for doing surveys so I still have about 3 weeks of play music which I am using now. I did that when AM messed up last week with the gift card stupid iTunes errors about Genius "more like dumb" errors. Now I just want my money back.

It's currently working now. Not sure if this worked: Computer was authorized but I authorized it again and then iTunes crashed, so i reopened it and bam! it works. Try that yall

Problem with Play Music is the "Thumbs Up" playlist, it's never been accurate for me and some others. It either stops at a certain number or forgets and resets to a lower song count.

Not that again. How many freaking times do they want my Apple ID password. Everytime I click on one freaking icon again asking me for my password.
[doublepost=1473801712][/doublepost]Update it is working now. No stupid password prompt again.

I know as there parental controls don't work and are practically non existing. But the years I used it never went down once I though it did but it was my cell service. Apple Music since using it in Feburary has been a big mess so many issues I am not repeating them here. I just keep coming back because of the excellent sound quality even though Play Music sound quality is number 2.

Also there is chit on macrumors about this come on. Wait Pokemon Go goes down for 30 seconds and there is a stupid article about it right away on this site. Only coming to these forums I found out I am not alone.

Days like this remind me why I buy, not rent my music, nor rely on a cloud library. That, combined with the well-earned sketchy reputation of Apple's online services, and the result is predictable.

The RIAA is well on its way to its nirvana of a "pay per play" model (however minuscule such payments may be), with the added bonus that they have ultimate control over access to the content, not the user.

This iTunes update is just incredible. I have hated this app for years, but these small changes have improved usability so much. Charts are easier to access, radio stations can actually be accessed again now and the new curated playlists are great. The album lists in artist view look so much better now. Not having playlists change background colour is much easier on the eyes too - sometimes it looked good but more often it reduced legibility.

Only one bug - the artist thumbnails that don't have artist profile pics in Apple Music no longer grab album art to fill that space. Looks pretty crap, but I assume Apple will quickly fix that. It's hard to miss.

Apple Music works fine 99.99% of the time. It's only been a few hours and things are working fine for me.

Apple Music doesn't have to replace making purchases on the iTunes store anyway. To me it's a complementary service. You won't ever buy a rubbish album again, as only your favourite Apple Music albums are purchased in the store. And you'll be exposed to WAY more music when the marginal cost of trying new music and recommendations is zero.

'Rent' isn't a very accurate term to describe music streaming services, as rental implies you give the music back at some point. I've been streaming music for years now - I've never had to return my music. For the price of a single album per month, you get access to almost all the music available online. It's insane value. Spotify and everything that followed is the best thing to ever happen to music. And I'll wager that $120 per year is more than people used to spend on music.

One last thing - during this outage all my downloaded Apple Music tracks worked perfectly.

No windows update yet.

Also, don't really need ratings. I remember how obsessed i got over rating all my music from 1 to 3 to 5 stars. too much work.
Ratings are great. I use them often to rate the "energy level" of a song from mellow to full on. Then I can play a playlist that starts out relaxing and ends up getting energetic. Works well for electronic music.

I really hate the microphone icons in Artists view, hopefully it's just a bug o_O

Not a fan of the new UI. Too much custom UI controls (flat blue buttons, ugh), redundancy (why do we need separate buttons simply opening right click menu) and on hover clutter (reminds me of dreadful Groove Music, where I can't click anywhere without accidentally activating something).

It should be noted that iTunes 12.5.1.21 is the new current version for Windows 7/8.1/10 users. I loaded it and it seems to work fine under Windows 7 Home Edition (SP1).

Thank you for the reply. Can't remember the last time I did a fresh iTunes install.

I take it you had no problems with it recognising the Apps, Music etc in your library?

I'm in the UK on Windows 10 too. Wonder if this is a geographical download server problem?

EDIT - just noticed that sbailey4 is in the US, which rules that theory out.
No problem. Apps and music just as it was. I didnt uninstall but simply ran the full installer and it did its thing. I suspect by now the updates are working. Sorry for the late response.
