Two generations down and there’s still no ECG in Australia! Either Apple or TGA is screwing it up. Deadly annoying!

I turned off heart and fitness tracking on my AW6, I just stopped caring about anything after being unemployed for 12 years in a row, no matter how hard I try not a single living soul will ever hire me. Why bother caring about what your health is like when youre already lost and forgotten. Im sorry to sound so negative, but being in my shoes is not fun. Now I use my AW6 as a regular clock instead of health companion. Im like a ghost wandering amongst other lost souls, my soul is adrifting in the wind, no one sees me, no one notices me. Im not dead but Im not alive either, Ive moved on to middle world between hell and earth. Now Im just waiting for someone to free my spirit so I could finally find peace.

I searched everywhere on MacRumors for others suffering the “non-functioning control center/notifications” issue called out and corrected in this update. I even got a brand new replacement Series 5 Stainless Steel (which I still have not activated because my Series 6 came in at about the same time) from Applerepair when they couldn’t fix the issue. I realize that a low %age of people enable the zoom feature on their watches, but if they added a patch for it, seems like the stores or repair center would have known about it. Oh well, their loss, my gain.

Apple please release ECG in Australia.
Two generations down and there’s still no ECG in Australia!
My understanding is that the TGA requires two separate measuring methods for a device to be approved for use as an ECG. The Withings Device that was approved in Australia has those 2 methods.

The Apple Watch only has one method, so unless regulations change it will never be approved for use in Australia, and why Apple never applied for its approval.

I don’t have the reference unfortunately, but it was part of a previous discussion of a watch update in these forums.

Updating my iPad, iPhone, iMac or Apple TV is super easy but boy.... updating my Apple Watch is always a drama. Extremely slow (download!), unreliable and takes forever to install.

Hope Apple will fix that in the future.
Usually true for me .. but this update was shockingly, maybe 5 minutes. AW6. 1/26/21, 11:38pm, Michigan

ECG is amazing. Something was wrong with me this past weekend - heart was feeling weird. Ran the ECG on my watch and said "Atril Firbrillation" - talk to you doctor. I went to emergency and am now being treated for Afib. Sounds like a commercial - but wow. Thanks Apple.
As an RN .. kudos to you for taking this seriously and quick action!

Contact your local government representative about that problem. You shouldn't have to go without that feature. It is too important.
just an update - latest watch update from Apple includes access for Thailand - yippee - but have to wait for AF update

Sounds like you need help.. :-(

ECG Australia I mean Hello!
I bought a 4 when it came out for my partner due to a heart attack and the notion this function could alert to future events seemed like a good investment... and here we are 2 versions later and Australia STILL can't approve this. Geez. It's not like they will do any more testing - probably just want Apple to pay some fee.

wonder how many other people bought a watch expecting this function to arrive shortly after it was announced?

Apple, please let us know what is the hold up. Is it you or the government regulators?

Is my series 2 Apple watch unable to update past 6.2.9? (Says the software is up to date.)

Okay, I got it. I think I'll wait for the next gen (w/hopefully, the blood glucose monitor) to upgrade my wrist computer.
