Installed the update on my Retina iMac and it went ok. I am not seeing a difference so far. Maybe scrolling is a bit smoother and transitioning between spaces is faster, but I will have to test it more to be sure.

I see the Download Configuration Utility link in the dev center but I get Access Denied. Is it because I am registered for iOS development only?

Im having serious GPU glitches/trailing. Flickering menubar w external display. Today my brand new MBPr completely froze 3x in one hour. I get empty finder windows but thankfully no wifi issues.
Also Im runing newest Adobe CC suite and Photoshop is acting crazy w glitches. I also think Photoshop makes my sytem unstable. I have fast boot times and app launching though.

Anyone experiencing similar issue. I am mostly concerned with complete system freezes (had 2 kernel panics) and GPU issues. I just got this Macbook from Apple and install was clean one from USB flashdrive.

This has to be my worst experience with OS X. I had little issues when Lion came out but ML and Mavericks worked flawlessly for me even on .0 releases. Im not doing this again, next time I'm waiting at least for .1 or .2 release cause this sucks.

Ever since the first beta of Yosemite my iMac has been so slow that I wanted to throw it out a window. It's an older machine so I get it but its almost unusable.

"Improves the reliability of waking from sleep on Macs not compatible with Yosemite"

Well that's something I never expected to see, Apple fixing a bug on machines that have been desupported in an OS release.

I'm really happy to see it; it shows Apple realizes people are hacking Yosemite installs onto older Macs and wants to keep users happy. I just hope the community doesn't start expecting these fixes and hassling Apple about bugs on unsupported hardware, causing them to stop.

Yeah, the only way Apple would address this issue is by making it more difficult to install on unsupported macs. Therefore fixing the issue unsupported macs may have ;)

Now the real question: has Apple fixed the issue recently discovered that allowed Trim to work natively on one brand of SSD drives? I'm betting that it won't be long before they shut that door.

Has anyone got a download link for the 10.10.1 update

My 2014 MacPro is a useless black trashcan at the moment due to the WIFI issues after the Yosemite update

My thanks to all of you that are beta testing 10.10 for the rest of us!

I waited 6 months before installing Mavericks and it looks like I'll be waiting until February or March before I install Yosemite too.

Please let us know your address so we can forward our Invoices to you....:p

The Dev Centre.

It's against forum rules to post links.

The direct link is in apple's developer forums NOT the mac dev center.

There is a new yosemite seed configuration utility in the mac dev center.

They are not the same thing.

Maybe they can fix the fact that the OS is slow as ****, takes 5 minutes to start up and is a RAM hog.
We should also be able to delete history in safari without deleting stored passwords.

Strange...what hardware are you running on? My late 2013 rMBP boots in about 10 seconds and is faster than ever.
When it comes to RAM usage....well things have changed over the last years. A modern OS will grab about everything it can get to optimise things and make the OS run fast. If an application needs RAM the OS will release it for the application. The more RAM the OS can use the faster your system usually gets!

Also if you still fee your system is too slow... are you using a hard disk? If yes how about upgrading to an SSD? I have upgraded quite a few old MacBooks to SSD and usually the owners ask me if i gave them another machine back as the improvement in speed is insane!

Well....on hardware that fast aren't you better off using the fastest network port available... i.e. Ethernet??!!

Time Machine is broken? Works fine for me. What's the issue(s) you're experiencing?

Its full of bugs, glad its not my primary backup mechanism. This is the list of those that I've experienced:
  • On remount of disk, uses full size (including data already backed-up and not needing backup) rather than delta, so it may delete backups it doesn't need to (so trashed ALL my Mavericks backups)
  • Backs up partial file if copy of a large file is running in parallel with the backup (use to continue running and backup the whole file)
  • Hit or miss whether you can see backup history through Time Machine UI
  • Deletes backups <24 hours old
  • Sometimes gets into mode where it deletes precisely one backup each time it runs, irrespective of how old that is
  • Time of next backup in preferences bears little relation to time it runs (can be +- 30 minutes either way)
  • Skips backups randomly (used to produce message if skipped because already backed-up in previous 10 minutes)
  • Unpredictable behaviour messages in log
  • Sometimes stalls if you have file open that it is trying to back-up

New but useless 'feature'
  • Thins backups in reverse order so deletes the latest backup first

Yeah, you can't get pre-release Yosemite updates if you are an iOS Dev (even though this wasn't true for the DP releases)

Is this available as a pre-release for the OS X Beta program? I'm not seeing it in the App Store.

I don't think these incremental betas will be available for the public. Doesn't really seem worth it. You won't see a difference and they'll only be minor features.

I wish it said: "Fixes an issue that causes pretty much everything about your computer to SUCK."

Unfortunately I am still having disconnects on a eduroam wifi network with 802.1x authentication.

What is apple and wifi issues? For a company that has lobbied for the removal of physical media and Ethernet connections from their range, the one thing they have to get right is the wifi. The problem is they break it every major software update ! Kind of like amateur hour.....it's not like they do not know exactly what wifi are in their own Hardware...and they run their own software! It's kinda pathetic, it's not like windows where they have to mange thousands of hardware configurations and yet manage to have a PC that holds a wifi signal

Retina 5K iMac improvements?

Now that I've had a few hours with my new iMac, I can report that Mission Control does take an extra second or two to "draw", which is disappointing, because I use it all the time. This issue sometimes extends to scrolling in certain places and maximizing windows.

I doubt, however, that the upgraded GPU (the M295x) would make any difference in this regard. I think it might be a software issue of a brand new OS on a brand new hardware product.

What do you guys think?

lesson learnt

well i have certainly learned a hard lesson with Apple. I will always back up my existing iMac and iPad in future before any updating.
I will stop recommending Apple to my friends as a company that sells products "that just work" As the last updates to mavericks and ios7 also show. they don't.

really disappointed customer.

I'm a Day 1 user of Yosemite and have had 0 issues with anything.
My WiFi works as it should.
Could I just be lucky in that respect?

13" Mid 2012 Mac Pro
2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB

Me too - a couple of drop outs but that happens from time to time anyway. Well happy so far.

Wifi fixed now for me

After struggling for days with drops out on the WPA2-Enterprise WIFI at work I can now say that this update has fixed it!
