Well i didn't see any whatsapp, line, Snapchat, FB Messenger, Wechat etc adds. So seems like the competition can bring its products to the consumer without adds. So I uphold my opinion...

Also it's not like Apple didn't have any failures even so using focus groups etc. anyone remembers their 'social network' called "Ping"? Is it still out there ?

Again, you seem to not know how marketing and advertising work, and why companies spend so much money on that.

The best selling vehicle in the US is Ford's F150 truck. It outsells the Toyota Camry around two to one. Most people know what a Ford truck is, yet Ford spends a tremendous amount of money creating TV ads devoted to the F150. Why? Because there are other truck brands available for truck buyers to consider and purchase, and Ford would prefer those truck buyers purchase Ford trucks.

Why do you care so much about how Apple chooses to market their products? Are you worried Apple marketing is ineffective and their marketing groups need some help to make the company successful?

Maybe stickers can be used in an innovative way on the MacBook "Pro" touch bar. That will finally make it a Pro machine!

Yes but to warrant a whole ad being made out of just stickers ? Am I the only one who thinks this is completely nonsensical ?

Shows where their priorities now are.

Not really worried. But I guess they could spend their money better. Anyway I don't like the ad.

But remember, u guys are the ones that liked them with iOS 10,, and now an ad comes out u hate them ? Make up your minds...

As for me though, i never liked the stickers..

I would of said "sticky" fingers

Why is it that almost all the comments sections on this site seem to be just people whining about Apple? You'd think that a site devoted to Apple might attract more supportive commenters. I've been reading Ars Technica a lot lately and the comments sections just seem a lot more...rational. Apple producing one ad about one comical feature has nothing to do with their priorities. If they're working on new Macs, which I sincerely hope they are, this ad (for their largest revenue stream by the way) will not stop them from doing so.

At this point, Steve Jobs would literally starting punching Apple employees, whilst screaming at them to fire themselves.

Maybe because we were buying Apple products when they were amazing, cutting edge and we couldn't throw enough money at them. Now, I'd rather use my money as toilet paper than reward Apple for their fecklessness, incompetence, negligence and greed.

Problem Apple has is that animated stickers crash even on iPhone 7. For some reason iMessage doesn't manage stickers very well. Even on iPhone 7 scroll through a list of animated stickers and they will crash eventually. This seems like a really simple one for Apple to solve and hopefully they do. When messages says it's "unable to load stickers", imessage abruptly goes blank black screen or storage available in settings suddenly plummets to "zero" from greater than 1gb, then something is terribly wrong with ios because stickers are tiny resources <500kb.

Side note, the ad is cute but I don't like how people are smacking each other hard on the face, not cool. Gentle people.

Apple is now all about tough love. Get used it.

Apple seems to increasingly target a young(er) demographic these days. Hopefully they recognize in time that this somewhat contradicts the premium prices they command for their products ...

I'm from Europe, so I'm wondering, do these adverts appear somewhere else (on TV or wherever) in "real world" or are meant to be seen on their youtube channel?

oh yes, and it's an horrendous advert. Quite aside from how it obviously promotes assaulting strangers, it is just awful. Ten years ago we had the genius that was the 'Get a Mac' ads, and now, when the hardware is so much better we have this rubbish?

Stickers are actually the only thing that I don't use from iOS10's iMessage updates. Same with my contacts. Digital touch, handwriting, games, gif search, reactions, text effects- all used. For some reason none of us can be bothered to download any stickers.

Yah, me too - I have no idea actually why I would want to use stickers... I feel old! I shouldn't have to put effort into figuring out the utility of stickers - I just don't quite get it. Like what do I do with them? - send a funny sticker to my friend or something? really? That's supposed to be something good? It makes me feel left out a bit. I should mention that I also totally do not understand how the twitter community is supposed to work. Other than that, I pretty much know everything

I feel sorry for those who don't understand the joy of putting Pusheen stickers all over a message.

That's me! I have no idea. Can you show me? I mean I realize I could google it up, or maybe watch that commercial and figure it out perhaps, but for some reason, I just haven't bothered, and it's a big gap in my knowledge. Stickers? what for? Emoji's aren't enough or what is it?

The human race is going down the drain. Stickers, emoticons, Facebook.....
WTF, how about simple face to face communication? Are people really getting this retarded?

Jesus apple, how about splitting IOS into a kids release and for those of us that don't want any of this crap!

I feel the same way.

No time for "stickers". Why does everything have to be fun? If everything is fun, nothing is fun.

Just a world full of empty heads. I you have nothing to tell your friends or family, you simply start sending this nonsense, than it looks like you are communicating, but you are actually not. Sad!

T: OK guys - nothing about products today ?
P: No. No agenda on the new iPad Pro line, the MacBook/iPad convert, new networking devices.
T: OK then. Let's look at the design department today. Our new house style...
I: I'm still in the process. I am constantly getting withdrawn from my drawing board.
P: Then what's on it anyway ?
I: Nothing, that's just the problem.
P: But you have 450 designers working exclusively for you. What are they doing then ?
I: The problem is that they hardly do anything close to what I want: the perfect. I am not saying that they are untalented, or that they are young, intellectually stupid, scattered, nihilist idiots. But the result is the same.
T: But can you handle them ?
I: Sure, but their output is different from what I expect.
T: So ?
I: When I ask them something, they say they are on the same floor with Iovine, Rug the Rapper, Dr Dré, Gerry the Punkr and they are busy mixing. They can't hear me. And they are right. The noise is terrible indeed. Crowds are running, spinning, streetdancing, robbing, rocking...
We bring in new furniture every other day.
P: Whaha, those creatives - I like them. And money enough.
T: A bit strange, anyway. Isn't this the TouchBar hype you brought in yourself ?
I: Sure. But we never thought it would lead to this level of imbecility. And they keep me out of concentration. My head is wobbling around every day. I am not saying there is a generation gap, but at least I do not understand why they don't understand me.
T: I understand. But it's not their fault. They are the new generation. They represent our customers.
I: So what can we do ?
T: I will let E. handle this. He is soo close to this generation. He is the hype. Don't worry. There will be some very valuable stuff coming out of this soon. Ooh, I am so proud about diversity ! And our new Space Cake Center has enough room to accomodate any form of creativity.
So: Say welcome to the new generation !
I: Oh, well. Come.
T: Just get a surfboard. And ready for lunch...

I: It sure is. I am not saying there is a generation gap, but at least I do not understand that they don't understand me.

I: Ehhh, well. Come.
Time for lunch...

I've never understood why people feel the need to make up conversations between Apple Executives.

Advertisements like this really make me feel old. I don't need stickers or emojis. I like the old way: sentences.

Like the emoji word replacement feature... I ****ing already typed the word, why would the **** would I replace "cake" with a "cake picture".
