Where else are you going to put your phone ? Unless you are a chick with a purse it goes in your pocket. I cannot have one hand reserved to holding this phone 24/7. I think apple may have gone a little to far on this one " thinnest lightest phone on the planet"

It isn't going to bend in your pocket under NORMAL CONDITIONS. How is this so difficult for people to comprehend? If YOU bend it you subjected it to ABNORMAL conditions and that's on YOU. Period.

LOL. So basically apple is not replacing their defective phones. Nice. Heck, even Samsung replaced the S4 active when it got water in it and that is obvious user error.

Hey billion dollar company.. Yes you apple. When it's being mocked on Conan you should probably eat it and replace them.

There's a difference between a genuine user error and a user deliberately trying to sabotage his/ her device. I can have some sympathy for the former, the latter deserves none whatsoever.

I'm calling BS with this. One apple support rep != "Apple Wont...".

First off, if there is a genuine enclosure bending incident on the 5/5S, it's covered under warranty. This is subject to inspection and only if they deem it to be a design flaw.

If you sit on your phone, you can't expect apple to replace it. I've yet to see any evidence that iPhones bend in pockets.

The iPhone bends on its own from sitting in a purse...

OP, you might want to rethink your story after taking a basic physics class.

Better yet, buy a phone from Samsung because they're unbreakable and unbendable. LOL.

What's the point of replacing it if they all bend ? Rather get your money back.

The point is that from what iFixit found and what Apple said in response to the bendgate, it's probable that Apple made a silent update to the iPhone 6. So, there is a chance that the new model, the one tested by consumer reports, won't bend...

It's the same with ghosting on the MacBook Retina. I will have mine replaced when I find a window when I don't need to work on it daily. And I know I won't have problems with ghosting, because Apple also made a silent update on that model and all the LCD are now made by Samsung and the LG stock has been phased out.

No, that's not probable at all. They can't just discover, fix, submit for FCC re-approval, make the change to the assembly line, get the new/changed parts and produce a new iPhone 6 for CR testing in a week. That's beyond ridiculous.

OP, you deserve to receive multiple nobel prizes in physics. You found a new theory that can't be explained with quantum mechanics or general theory of relativity.

If they extended the metal part from the speaker buttons all the way down to the bottom it would definitely help and that can't be that difficult to do - although using a different LCD supplier is completely different from changing the design slightly.

I'm sure it's possible, but as you say, unlikely.

Consumer Reports finds iPhone 6 Plus less bendable than perceived

“All the phones we tested showed themselves to be pretty tough. The iPhone 6 Plus, the more robust of the new iPhones in our testing, started to deform when we reached 90 pounds of force, and came apart with 110 pounds of force. With those numbers, it slightly outperformed the HTC One (which is largely regarded as a sturdy, solid phone), as well as the smaller iPhone 6, yet underperformed some other smart phones.”

Yet, that's exactly what they did with the retina MacBook... And that's also what they did with the first iPhone - Steve Jobs made Apple replace the plastic screen with a glass screen a few weeks before launch.
We're not talking about a small company here, we're talking about one of the richest company on the planet trying to avoid a recall that would cost billions. You don't think they're able to pull that kind of resources? That would also explain why the 6+ was in such short supplies at the beginning...

Moreover, what makes you think Apple had only one week to do that? They might have identified the problem weeks before. Yet, they still had stock without the improved body to sell. So it is perfectly possible that they decided to empty that stock before releasing the improved 6+...
Again, it's not like it didn't happen before, that's exactly what happened with the retina MacBook: Apple sold all its LG LCD with ghosting before switching to a 100% Samsung production. They just made the exchange for people who would notice the problem rather than recall all the MacBooks with faulty LG LCD...

The warranty and AppleCare+ terms say otherwise.

Why do you think you know everything dude? You consistently want to argue. I have used this method many times. I just sent in my Macbook to have the trackpad replaced two weeks ago. That is probably the 6th time I have gotten a repair/replacement in this fashion in the last 5 years for various products.

Just because you did it doesn't mean that's the way it is. Or are you so arrogant to think your experience is what everyone else's should be?

Geez. Apple is entitled to inspect a product that someone is attempting to exchange due to physical damage. No, you are not entitled to a free express swap all the time under any circumstance. If you were able to get one, congratulations. But for the rest of us mere mortals, we have the warranty terms and conditions to deal with.

Yeah, because a defective trackpad is the same as a bent iPhone. Of course.

Everyone is well aware of the results of this flawed test.

They inspect it when it gets there. As long as what you stated is there, it gets replaced....period. If the rep on the phone schedules the replacement, then that's it.

Just because you're incompetent and don't know how Apple actually works, that doesn't mean the rest of us should run around blind. Maybe I'll just ignore my numerous experiences and just agree with some shmuck in the Internet. Nah, I'm not an idiot.

I called them Thursday about the crooked text in he back of my iPhone and had a new phone sent to me which arrived yesterday. Boom. Want me to call in today and nitpick another issue to prove you don't know ****?

Oh look. You can pre-order the Galaxy Note 4 now! But no one is. How sad.

I said it before if you bend your iPhone it absolutely your fault! Period!
