I'm on T-Mobile, with about 10 lines (business plan)

But I fail to see why anyone is still on AT&T.

With T-Mobile being the cheaper option, and Verizon having a vastly better network than AT&T while still being cheaper, it astounds me that people are still on AT&T.

This is not meant as a personal attack, please explain why you wouldn't switch from them?

I switched to AT&T from Verizon so I could buy the original iPhone. WiFi is everywhere where I live so I rarely use over 2 GB of data. My bill is less than $60 per month including taxes and fees. I stay because I've not found a cheaper plan with a carrier that has better coverage. I need a plan with LTE coverage outside of the most populated areas of the state which is why I haven't switched to T Mobile. The Verizon plans I've seen aren't cheaper either. I couldn't care less about faux "unlimited" data plans. I want the best coverage at the lowest cost for the amount of data I use.

I take trips into our national parks in the west (i.e. Yosemite, Arches, Zion, etc.) and I can get service with ATT but not with TMobile. If TMobile had better coverage once your outside of urban areas I would definitely switch.

I did the same thing last year! Don't know about this year if AT&T have improved but my trips to Yosemite, Zion Canyon, Grand Canyon North and West, and Bryce Canyon, only my VZW 6S+ had consistent LTE coverage in most of those parks.

My Sprint iPad was mostly 1x. Mycousin's TMo 6S+ is basically useless. And most of my relatives with us had AT&T which in some areas in those parks were able to get LTE, but mostly in 2G (before they turned it off).

Yeah, this is a no go for me. I have a 5 line family plan plus two iPads and we just brush up against the 20g limit every month. We would end up paying around $40 more a month for no real benefit.

At this point, with the grandfathered unlimited, I'd be happy with 5gb of tethering...

After having the iPhone Unlimited plan for 6 years, I think it may be time to change and now we get tethering (never part of iPhone Unlimited plan).

As a 10 year customer of AT&T, we just switched to T-Mobile last week. We're saving so much money and the service has been the same. Peace out AT&T!

We're $40 less a month than AT&T's new plans and there were no activation fees. What a joke!

i'll be switching away too - joined at&T when they were exclusive to iphone, - I'd hate the actually see how much money I've actually lost over the years - started at two lines, now four.

With voice over LTE enabled on your Verizon phone, data and voice are used simultaneously. The only problem is that if you cross out of an LTE area on Verizon while on the phone, your call will drop, while AT&T can hand off to their standard voice network without interruption.

This is true, and I'm pretty sure VZW knows this is the case and worked proactively to solve that. While it's not 100% solved until they go LTE-only by 2020, their signal propagation and penetration is better than the other 3 carriers.

So far from my experience in the last 3 years with the Top 3 (VZW, AT&T and TMo), VZW has less call drops, and better signal reliability when I'm driving around. And not just driving around 30-mile radius, I'm talking 100 to almost 300 miles. From NYC area to Boston, Hartford, Albany, Rochester, Pittsburgh, York PA, Baltimore and D.C.

Hmm. I'm pretty sure I am going to switch my family plan from 3 unlimited iPhone plans to this, even if we lose the corporate discount. I am currently paying $184 for 3 unlimited lines, 550 minutes and unlimited text (including a discount). Next month that goes to $199. Based on my math and addition of taxes, this plan for the 3 of us is $177. So $22 a month less, plus I finally get tethering.

I'm keeping my single line grandfathered unlimited plan. After my work discount with at&t I'm at 95 a month and that's including the most recent 5 dollar price spike kicking in this month.

I don't want to get slower speeds just to save a few bucks and since I use CarPlay a bunch I don't want to lose unlimited either.

So they actually have a plan that is universally limited to 3 Mbps speed?!? What year is this? They are out of their minds.

Same here, I pay $22 /month on a UK contract, I'm working in the Netherlands and being charged not a penny more for my calls and data :)

My plan also works all over the US

These prices are crazy. more crazy people pay it!

Of course we pay it. The only other option is not having the service, so what would you do in that case?

So is there anything that would be LOST in moving from the grandfathered unlimited plan to this? I don't see anything in reading this but I'm wondering what is in the fine print.

From what I gather, the unlimited choice plan would slow our speeds down.

My LTE speeds are super fast in my area, I'm not changing that to save a few bucks. I agree with ya.

Right now paying $250 for 8 lines on the 30 Gb mobile share value. If this is accurate I'd be paying $265 for unlimited 8 lines and not have to worry about babysitting user data use. That'd be a dream. Will see when att publishes their info and fine print.

I wonder if the North American roaming will still be included in the plan.

Here is why I am staying with AT&T (at least for now)... For me the main reason is, I took advantage of their "free iphone 7 promo" back in Sept. I upgraded to the 7 plus 256gig but it is the same monthly credit divided over 24 months. So if I want to leave, I would lose $650 times two phones and I would have to pay off my phone at full price and my current phone would not be compatible with the Verizon network. So for those reasons it is not worth it for me to leave AT&T. I know things change and are constantly upgraded but I switched to verizon very briefly about 5 years ago and i barely got one bar inside my house. So I had to switch back to AT&T. And my husband's co-workers that have t-moble and sprint complain they get crappy reception at the office. So that is why I am staying with AT&T. It is not because I am loyal to them or do not know that there are better offers out there. I know t-moble and sprint would be cheaper but verizon would be a little bit more since I have 2 lines (both AT&T and verizon are $140 a month for 2 lines) and I get a FAN discount. So AT&T is cheaper for me than Verizon.

How does that work exactly? did you have to pay for the phone up front then they return the money in 24 bill credits?

Then what are those people called in Europe or various other places that pay higher prices for gas and all kinds of other services and products compared to the US?

For me, AT&T is the superior network where I frequent. T-Mobile is basically useless here, and on Verizon I begin to roam at church. No brainer... Not going to save some money if it means I can't use my phone where I wanna use it!

It wasn't that. They did present their figured out version and the market rejected it. Had to take another swing with something that eroded margins but retained customers.

Must have been bleeding customers something awful to have to act so quickly.
Or they didn't have all their ducks in a row and had to scramble to do something so that it doesn't seem like they are ignoring it all and out out some barely thought out plan as a bandaid while they figure out the actual one they wanted to go with. It just had a somewhat opposite effect.
