I noticed a few people other threads mentioning that their iPhones from combined preorders have started to ship, but their watches don't have any movement (with the same delivery date). Do carriers normally receive them later?

Same here. I ordered a Xs Max and watch on the same order. Phone shipped yesterday and is coming Friday via fedex. Watch still says in progress.

Interesting, I'm definitely curious how this ended up occurring. I've been reading that Apple may have underestimated demand for the SS models this round. What do you think?
Judging on how many watch models are backordered, I think they underestimated demand for the watches in general. I did order the ALU watch vs SS as my Series 1 alu has held up very well.

I wonder if the watches will be shipped with FedEx too. If so, that gives me a general idea of what time it will arrive, assuming my order ever moves beyond “In progress”.

What’s your delivery date? I also have a 44mm that still in progress but date for that one is 9/28-10/5.

The 21st. It’s a 44mm Space Gray with the black sports band. They might have a ton of those because the site was saying delivery on the 21st up until just a few days ago. It’s now 9/28-10/5.

40mm Aluminum "preparing to ship" and 44mm SS "in progress." I feel better now, dates still say tomorrow on them. Probably go out at some point today. Maybe they were waiting on their shipment from Apple.

My other thought was that my iPhone shipment says box is 2lbs, which seems heavy for just a phone, and maybe the watches were also in that shipment. Doesn't look like it though. Oh well.

I ordered Saturday morning as well. The only ones that were not showing a launch delivery were the stainless versions.

I have a feeling the folks on the west coast are seeing this first, then it'll trickle down to the east coast.
