ATT ready for MMS

Wrong. The iPhone 3G is $99. Now poor people can be cool.
I know 10+ people that do not own smartphone.. Why because they do not need a smartphone or want to pay the price to owning one.. So your statement about people having smart phones is way off and wrong at the same time.. There are more none smart phones users then there are of smart phones users..
Especially in the US. Smart phones are just now starting to really catch on, and the majority of it is due to the iPhone. Unless you're in the business world, most people don't have smart phones...nor do they really care.
has anyone who has enabled MMS or tethering still having trouble with VVM?! if you have a solution please post! i have been looking for like 2 hours trying everything and it hasnt worked

You can say whatever but it is the truth if you like it or not... People are not going to pay $40+30=70 when they can pay $50 with Unlimited text and get a phone free.. See you have no clue and yet you act like you do know even tho you really don't..

Agreed. In the horrible hazy quality that only a Verizon LG phone can provide. The kind of pic that you can just barely make out what it actually is.

Anyway, I'm tired of getting pics that people send me from those LG phones that I can't open! It's embarassing to have an iPhone and feel like I have a sub-standard phone.
I'm sure ATT and Apple have reasons as to why they do some of the things that they do. I doubt the executives are sitting in their top floor offices playing rocks paper scissors to determine when they're going to go live with MMS. Theres a ton of knowledge in here but lets be real, its all speculation. No one really knows what goes on behind closed doors and why! Its really easy to blame ATT.
I'm also sure that Apple and ATT BOTH have each other on speed dial. The iPhone is clearly an asset to both Apple and ATT so I highly doubt that a day goes by without some sort of communication and planning.
Everyone is so quick to blame ATT for everything, but lets face it; all cell phone carries SUCK in their own way!! It's a necessary evil. I've been with Verizon, Sprint, and now ATT and guess what??? I have a good and bad thing I can say about all of them. Try throwing 5+ million iPhones on any carrier and see what happens!!
I came off of a Sprint SERO plan with an HTC Diamond that supported a cooked rom to run even half of the things you can get with an iphone out of the box. ....and Sprint picture mail sucks, so you need a 3rd party mms program to get true mms or tethering.
It's funny, if you go over to a sprint forum they all bitch about Sprint and how much the service sucks and if it werent for their sero plan they would switch. Then you come over here and people bitch about ATT and say if it werent for the iphone they would switch.
They all have their issues!!! Enjoy your iphone and be patient MMS will come!!!

Actually, I really enjoy using MMS. Sometimes it can convey everything you might try to text without typing a word (ya know, a picture is worth...blah blah blah). I had been with VZW for 10 years or so and jumped ship when the 3GS came out because of several of the features, including upcoming release of MMS.

While it's fun to see other people figure out ways around the waiting, and other people fight over the interwebs, I'm too busy enjoying my new phone and relatively unchanged service (VZW vs. ATT in Baltimore region=same-ish).
The email thing is OK, but the ease of use of MMS, and the ease of receiving MMS make it a useful tool for me...but again, I knew what I was getting into when I switched. I know I'm a nOOb post-count wise, but I've been on a forum or four and just thought I'd say cheers, relax, quit taking a cellphone sooooo seriously...we ALL knew it wasn't going to be here on June 19th.

Personally, I think they will probably begin testing it near the end of the beta of 3.1 and then open it up to everyone when they do the public release.
i am a dev and have downloaded beta 3.1, people have been saying that they are getting the camera icon again! but i am here to say my 3G does not have it. Is there a problem?
