Hello there!

I've seen that I'm not the only one who is comparing all the pictures from the JETBLACK and the MATTE BLACK. I'm from France and the pre-order is going to be available in few hours... And I still do not know which one I'll take.

Thanks for the uptdate of picture and especially the one we could see the both black side by side.

I've seen on this picture that the jetblack is scratched on the bottom... I'm finally leaning for the classic black. The jetblack looks more premium when it's new but I would say that after few months (and because of the scratches) that one gonna look cheaper than the classic black...

What you guys think about this?

Salute from Paris (forgive my few mistakes)

Forget the scratches, buy what you like and enjoy it, it'll be long forgotten when the next iPhone comes out.

Enjoy your purchase.

I agree! I don't like black phones anymore, they lack the color and get depressing after a week or two. I've always liked white. I'll be getting a white/silver again.

Jet Black. I've come to realize that scratches on phones are inevitable and usually my phone gets replaced through AppleCare at least twice over the term of coverage anyway.

The biggest downside to the jet black are scratches, but that's usually just a problem for me when it comes to selling the phone. Since I'll be doing the Apple Upgrade Program, minor scratches on the back hopefully won't be a problem. I may give it a shot!

I find no matter which color I have it grows tired after a little. Apples options are all so nice I feel like I could live with any of them really. I'm using rose gold now so it's gonna have to be a black face this time around. Game time decision tonight on jet or matte

Matte black. Love the look.

I think I'm the only person on the entire forum who likes space grey.. *runs and hides in corner* :p

You aren't the only person. I love the space gray. I love the black too.

Kind of disappointed the AirPods don't have a black option.

I'm more disappointed that Apple released a wireless bud where you can't easily raise or lower the volume. #FAIL

I had my wallet ready until I read that the only control you have is through Siri. Why Apple? If you can double-tap for Siri, why not some gesture for volume?

Anyway, back to the thread. 12 hours 49 minutes to go and I'm about 80% decided on jet black, 20% on matte black. I might literally decide at 3AM

I wouldn't let the fact that it may scratch or be a fingerprint magnet worry you, get a case and you will be fine. I'm getting the Jet Black, an I've already ordered a clear transparent case off Amazon. I may also get an Apple silicone case as well.

Jet Black looks cheap to me...

This. When the rumors of the jet black appeared, I'd thought maybe they were doing another polycarbonate iPhone like the 3. It's cool that they've polished aluminum to that degree, but the only material in consumer electronics that's glossy these days is polycarbonate plastic and that's what jet black reminds me of.

Matte black on the other hand looks really sleek.

This is the pic that sealed my decision. I had already favorited the jet black, but now will switch to matte black.

Are those scuffs I see on the corner of the jet black one? I also had my heart set on the jet black, but am now thinking the matte one looks super nice with that contrast, and it seems like it will be more durable.

I love the look of the jet black and the tech that created it, but the words 'fingerprint magnet' and 'micro scratches' are giving me pause.

Yeah, I'm still leaning Jet Black just because the shine looks so good. For some reason, I feel like it looks better on the Plus than the regular. Not sure why but something I noticed.

Keep in mind that a lot of photos you saw probably had hundreds of people touching the phone, and I wouldn't be surprised if people were intentionally trying to scuff the phone too.

If your scared Jet Black will scratch, just get a naked skin from slickwraps or another 3rd party

Yep this is what I always do, get the matteskin from Skinomi for the back/sides. I don't know how much brightness will be left with a matteskin though, but I find it markedly improves grip. Where the clear body skins are way too slippery.
