Can I hope about Mac Pro update at August 7th

Disappointing for sure, but not totally surprising. The new iMacs look pretty sleek though, weak video cards aside. Better than integrated video!

Does it count as an update if the Mac Pros start shipping with the new aluminum keyboards?!
 
And what is up with the new wireless keyboard? No keypad!? I want a full keyboard, not a oversized dashboard/itunes remote control.

No more ntegrated GPU, I wonder if this thing can now support Final Cut Studio 2 (especially motion). I know the macbook due to its integrated GPU causes Motion not to work but this new imac has a 256mb ATI GPU. hmmmmm ..............

If they have at least refresh the MAc Pro, i will be placing my order TODAY. But again, I dont think anything Mac Pro will be upgraded till SS arrives at the end of the year or maybe during Mac World 08.
 
1 year old and nothing. It wouldn't hurt to update it.
Laptops have better ram, gpu and MP nothing. None of the reporters asked about recent xeon price slash. Did they forget their coffees or what?
 
I think if they just quietly updated the graphics cards and maybe boosted the RAM, people would be happy until SS comes along.
 
for me, they have to update the gfx card and move to 8 core. otherwise i'm either buying a pc or waiting. i'm still not sure what to do.

I'm just pricing up a MP anyhow, as I really need a new machine. Any ideas whether I'll get the new iLife with a machine I order today? What about refurbs?
 
i don't know what to say without it being misconstrued as either flame bait , a troll or just gloating , so i'll just keep shtum on the whole mp debacle

more of a non event imo , partic that weird black outliner on the imacs which just looks a tad tacky and awfully retro ( like one of those 70's stainless steel and black plastic calculators )

why didn't they just go the whole hog and make it like the back ipod / nano ??

I believe the black outline is to enhance the picture to the human eye, more so than a "style". I may be wrong.
 
RAID CARD?!?

was this here before as an option for the mac pro?

Now that's something we can agree on! 😱

I liked the iMac design when I first saw it, but on closer inspection yes, that black band is ugly. Still, overall pretty sleek I think.
 
So are you guys going to finally give in and get that Mac Pro now, or are you going to keep holding out till January???

Time to snatch one of the last Numeric Keypad Bluetooth Apple Keyboards from the refurb page as soon as they finally get the darned Store back up. 🙄
