Caudabe Lucid Clear Impressions

I ordered the Caudabe Lucid Clear and didn't get it yet.
I saw now the Air Jacket clear of Power support and it looked to me better I think.
I didn't like the two cuts down in the Lucid Clear and that the volume and power buttons are exposed.

What do you think? which one its better? the Caudabe Lucid Clear or the Power Support Air Jacket clear
 
I got a reply from Caudabe. Their customer service is excellent. They said that the Space Grey is ever so slightly thinner than Silver and that's causing the looseness in the case (so I'm not crazy!).

They are making a revision and will send me out a new one when it's done.

In the meantime I opened the Veil XT. LOVE IT!

I'm happy that you have received good service.

I haven't. Ordered a lucid clear on Nov 4th, it was shipped Nov 6th and hasn't moved since.

When asking Caudabe to look into this, the response is "use the other link to track your order".

Both links show exactly the same: that the case hasn't moved since the 6th.

Since informing them of this two days ago, I have received no response at all.

Quite frustrating.

That's on the shipping carrier after they picked up from Caudabe.
Caudabe should follow up with their shipping carrier and then let you know.
Personally, in my experience with Caudabe Support, they would've sent me a replacement the day I complained to them. Not sure what happened this time.
 
The Lucid Clear case looks very popular. It's always "sold out" on Caudabe's website.
I'm still on the fence because I'm a minimalist and always use the super slim Veil XT.

Questions:
  1. For Veil XT users, do you like it and does it feel bulky?
  2. Is the scratches true for regular daily use (not rough outside jobs like constructions)?
  3. Did anyone receive an updated Lucid Clear and how can you tell the difference?
  4. Also, are you happy so far with Lucid Clear case?

I bought this and used it for a day and it will probably go in the trash. I dislike the logo, it gets ugly fast with fingerprints and just general grime (yes I wash my hands often). I just think I dislike clear cses in general but this one seemed to be worse than other brands I've had in the past in what it looks like after a day or so.
 
Been using this case for probably 2 weeks. I occasionally swap back to my saddle leather case but man i love this clear case. its thin and fits perfect. it does attract a lot of fingerprints but so does the phone itself. Havent dropped it at all yet but when i do i hope the phone actually stays in the case. it seems a little lose but not too bad.

Still very happy with mine. I stopped using the Veil XT a couple of years ago because it was too thin. Plus, they don’t have one that’s totally clear. Lucid Clear basically takes care of both of those problems.

I don’t really baby my phone, but I don’t treat it rough either. So far a few barely visible scratches but nothing major. I still love the way it looks and fits. Fingerprints are an issue but that’s to be expected with any clear case.

Oh I can tell you all about drops. :) I’ve dropped mine at least five times on various surfaces. It’s held up really well, I’ve been impressed. One of the drops was on concrete and one corner got chipped. Emailed Caudabe and got my replacement the same week. Replacement has been great. I switch between this and the Sheath. Like them both for different reasons. Sheath for grip and overall protection. Lucid for the look.

Damnnn good to hear! So if i drop it and the case cracks they'll send me a replacement for free?! o_O

Immediately I took off the Ringke Air I had on my X and put this on. The second thing I noticed was, wow, this thing is slippery!!! Just trying to hold this while trying to snap a few pics I had to be extremely careful.

As much as I really like how thin this case is, and how nice it looks, it’s just a bit too slippery for me. Back to the Ringke Air for now.

Looks like I’m lucky. Took off my lucid clear to clean and zero scratches on the bezel. Loving this case so far.
 
Damn so i randomly took this case off today to clean it from dust and man my bezel is soooooo scuffed up. Its completely scuffed all the way around the phone too. i emailed their customer support but looks like im just going to start rocking this phone naked. i HATE cases.

Is that Silver or Space Gray? Is the scratch from the case itself?

Weird, do you take it on and off a lot? I just took mine off and my phone looks fine. Plus if you have the silver, those micro scratches buff out. I just did this on my stainless steel Apple Watch over the weekend. It was all scratched up on the side but now it looks like new again.
 
my bezel has lots of micro scratches too. you have to look under direct light to see them. Obviously I can buff them out (thats why i bought silver like my apple watch) but not going to do that unless they get real bad. i would prefer to go caseless but im just so worried about phone dropping, even though that hardly ever has happened to me in past. I do have a back glass screen protector coming from ebay, so its an option.
 
There’s an entire thread on the iPhone section of the forums discussing micro scratches on the silver stainless steel. The phone is a scratch magnet. But as long as it’s not a deep gash, you can polish it out.

I just looked at my phone (also been using the case for a few weeks) and can see a few hairline scratches here and there, but I also went naked for a few days. Either way, they’re barely visible and don’t bother me one bit. Both the phone and the case still look phenomenal. This is probably my favorite iPhone/case combo of all time.

Ya, I am fine getting the micro scratches too knowing I can buff them. I have the cape cod clothes for my apple watch. I would be much more upset having space grey and all these microscratches, but with that being said, isn't a case supposed to protect from this so I don't have to worry about it.
 
Just got this case too. was wondering If there is a VERY small amount of flex when you squeeze it from the sides?

Yeah, I'm having the same issue ! Seems like too much flex to me. Can't help thinking of all the dust that might squeeze in between iPhone and case. I'm wondering if this is normal?

So I talked to Caudabe about this issue and I got this response:

"Based on our own investigations since the phone launched, we discovered that the space gray iPhone X is just ever so slightly thinner than the silver iPhone X. The difference is so minute that Apple doesn’t officially make the distinction, but the difference is definitely there. So while the fit is perfect in almost all Lucid Clears that come off the manufacturing line, a small number of our customers with the space gray iPhone X will experience the issue you described."

So its pretty interesting that the space grays are slightly different. But looks like they have already retooled their stuff and adjusted it. Their next batch is gonna be adjusted for the space gray. So good news is its solved going forward. If you have issues just contact them.

Got the exact same message, they should be sending out my replacement this week hopefully.
