Good for Justin! I hope he made Intel pay through the nose.

People are persuadable... I hope Intel puts as much fight and creativity into their chips, because I want them to keep Apple In check.

In the meantime, I hope this lights a fire to get that Macbook-sized; bezel-less; two-pound; iPad-colored; 16-core; 32-core-GPU; 32-gig memory; 20-hour-battery-lasting; Geekbench-score doubling; laptop out the door.

Can anyone really say this advertisement is wrong?

Because it's not. It's 100% accurate. Regardless of the actor.

Anyone that's using Mac knows this is accurate.

You don't need 56 accessories to use a 2 in 1 laptop.

Fact.
Actually is NOT 100% accurate. Example is you get a 2 and 1 laptop, say the Surface you will need dongles and you will need the pen or whatever Microsoft calls it. Outside of OneNote, which is quickly becoming a mess, the Surface is a horrible tablet compared to the iPad and its not a great PC either.

I have a foldable HP Elitebook laptop with touch screen. I tried it as tablet one time, two times, three time, and decided that it is very uncomfortable. The fact that a certain laptop has certain functionality or port, does not necessary mean it is useful, convenient, comfortable, etc. Intel processor or super inefficient compared to M1 and this is a fact.

Spokes-people are for sale, it's the nature of the beast.

The Verizon guy switching to Sprint was funny. I heard they paid him a nice fat check for that.

I don't blame Mac guy whats-his-name. No one really knows who he is anymore. The "I'm a Mac" ads are about as fresh as "Stadium Arcadium".

Isn't the year these came out the same year the Crocodile Hunter died? I mean if you were barely old enough to remember these ads, you're old enough to buy a beer now.

I mean, he WAS in a 2018 episode of "The Conners" so I suppose it's not out of the question to call him a star .

This is kinda like Joe Namath pitching the latest Plymouth sedan or something....

“No one games on a Mac”

I do. Lots of games.
And honestly I can see the Mac gaming market growing with the "M" chips. Lots and lots and lots of iOS games can easily be moved to M based Mac's. Code probably runs natively already, just need to update screen resolution and input. As the M chips get more powerful the games can increase graphics assets to start surpassing say the last gen of gaming consoles (PS4, Xbox One).

Competition is great, let the games commence. We all win ;) Plus the ads made me laugh, that's enough!

The dude's just making a living, man 😕
You can make that same argument to the folks at Intel...Everyone's making a living. The desperation is that he was in the Mac ads years ago and now following the money to Intel.

It's like the Verizon 'can you hear me now' guy moving to Sprint. Is he just endorsing a product he is currently getting paid to do or does he believe in it?

The Mac vs PC campaign ended in 2009. Intel is 12 years behind even when it comes to ads.
Yet anytime someone criticizes Samsung, Microsoft or anyone else for lamely going after Apple the whataboutism to these ads comes up. Those ads had humor. These aren’t. They’re just lame.

Sadly I bought a Thinkpad Yoga (similar to the one in the video) as my daughter's first computer. Have always been a Mac user. She was raised a Mac user, but she wanted a computer and tablet in one because she loves Affinity Designer. The Thinkpad Yoga is one hell of a solution. I wish Tim would use one for a week or two. BTW, we spent quite a lot so this was NOT a price-driven decision (the X1 we got was pretty expensive, but nicely loaded). BTW2: Thanks Affinity for such a great product, and porting to Windows.
I did the same for my daughter, who is in her second semester of college. We just had to replace the battery because it would not hold a charge beyond 20min after 1.5 years. She was big time into OneNote but her school is part of some Apple program and gives out iPad Pro's to new students with the pencil and she switched to some note taking app on the iPad and never uses OneNote anymore.

I haven’t seen the ad, but if they’re putting a focus on PC gaming, it seems to me that they’re trying to impress a really, really narrow slice of the pie. And that tells me they’re already feeling the pinch that the M1’s have had, even in the gaming category of PC buyers. These ads are reactionary - because Apple has annihilated Intel and in part the whole PC industry and they know it is only going to get worse as Apple releases even more powerful, and efficient, Macs.

With components being so small, there’s no reason Apple couldn’t ship a detachable convertible laptop/ipad - that was actually two devices and automagically used hand-off v.next to make a user‘s workflow seamless.

Ugh intel got their hands on a prototype m1 MBP with smaller bezels!!!

Not all that interesting, really. It’s just paid work. The only reason it’s here is because he used to be in some Apple commercials. About the only real impact is he likely won’t appear in any future Apple ads.

 would have hired Justin Long, but realized that  can't support anything  made in 2006 to 2009 for todays standards.

Intel is fine, they like other manufacturing companies are feeling the crunch of their annual limited sales drop down last year significantly. I'm not saying there are better than Silicone M1, but their processors are still very worthy.
