Looking forward to checking it out. My Air is showing its age.
Imagine what size the keyboard would be like. No room at all! And when apple will call it pro then... should get some nice comments....I'll wait till next year and see if Apple does to the iPad what they will be doing for the iPhone 8. I'm sad the mini is ending though. If they had made a mini pro, I'd be all over that in a hot second!
I find that to be a complete Placebo effect. I could read scrolling text on my iPad Air 2 already. I used them both side-by-side yesterday, and there is zero difference. No "ghosting" or anything else like that while scrolling on the iPad Air 2. I rarely say that, but Apple's marketing team has definitely scored big here. It's smooth enough that you can read the text that's scrolling by.
Yes, the marketing team. But every review i have seen and read, are telling me it is a big difference.I find that to be a complete Placebo effect. ...sorry... : please DON'T!! I need a big-power scanning device for my work! My flat-bed scanner is messy & non portable !Take the damn rear camera off this thing, and get USB-C on it too.
Perhaps I am the only one who tried it side by side?Yes, the marketing team. But every review i have seen and read, are telling me it is a big difference.
It could be that promotion doesn' t kick in with your ipad.
You are the only one saying there is no difference, so...
There are plenty of side by side reviews. So that is not an issue.Perhaps I am the only one who tried it side by side?
How many people complained before the release of the new iPad Pro that they could not read text while scrolling on their iPads?
And everyone writes in the reviews "Oh cool! I can read text while scrolling!!" I have not seen anyone write "I can read text while scrolling - which was not the case on my older iPad!"
Reminds me a lot of when Apple released the first retina display iPad and on some TV show, people pinch&zoomed into some text to show how smooth the writing is - when in fact that had nothing to do with the retina resolution. Now people are told that scrolling is smoother and actually go "Oh look, I can read text while scrolling" - when apparently, they have never tried if they can read text while scrolling on older devices.
I am not saying the new display isn't great. It is absolutely great. But that "I can read text while scrolling" thing is just the BS statement of the month, because that is not a "feature" of the new display.

If you would, as you say, use Affinity for iPad every day, I would suggest looking into a refurbished iPad Pro, either size. Easier on the budget! I highly recommend both the first gen ipad pro with Affinity Photo. That Affinity photo editing app that was showed off would come in really handy for me, oh, every day. I thought that I could at least buy the app for my iPad Air and maybe not have some features. Hey, a $20 photo editing app.
Buuuuuut you have to have at least an iPad Air 2. Insert facepalm. Unfortunately I can't justify one of these things yet.
No, but who said that. Switching from 120hz is the new gen. And while it us 120hz it can also use a multiplier with 24hz which is great for movies that are originally recorded on a multiplier of 24hz. With 60hz, there always was some judder on this kind of content, because it didn' t have a multiplier of 24hz.This.
Also, wasn't the whole "switching down refresh rates when not needed to save power" thing a feature of the gen1 iPad Pros? Granted, it's not 120hz, but the whole switching thing isn't new this gen
As good as this screen is, I don't see why it not being OLED (iPhone doesn't even have this yet) would be a deal breaker. What do you think would make it so great? Some OLED screens really don't look that good to me.No OLED
NO 3D Touch
No Multiuser sign in
No Bluetooth 5.0
NO BUY

In what way? Which apps benefit ?I really felt bad about upgrading from the 9.7 pro to the 10.5 pro. Until I opened and used it today. HUGE difference.
Apple didn't have the courage to get rid of the headphone jack on this thing?
