You just offer negative retorts to valid concerns. You have no answer to the fact people owning the AW and have a valid opinion on its (lack of) abilities and features. The AW is not a good device and the apps are currently poor. Tell me an app other than the ones "we've" mentioned that's actually any good and worth having? Give me a workflow better than health and/or unlocking a mac then as you deem those pointless apparently...

BT to a headset for running/fitness is very hit and miss - needs lots improvement, that "could" have been a good feature and even when it works the battery takes a pounding. Im sorry if you feel date and time are a significant feature but people have had wrist watches with these features since the 1850s, its not a killer app.

Where's the support for linking to multiple devices for instance?

Apple Pay at 10's of thousands of stores. I nativity listen to podcasts with Watchcast, I tweet all the time with the Twitter watch app. I check in and unlock the doors to my Health Club using Stocard, I pay for my Nitropushcoffee at Starbucks with my Starbucks watch app. I receive and reply to my emails using Spark watch app, I watch high res weather radar using my Radarscope watch app. I use myfitnesspal's quick water add feature on my pal's watch app.I play a kickass 70's game of Galaxia on my watch...I pull up the security code of a credit card on my 1password watch app. and much more...

Huh? You talked about a device that collects health data only with no display...and i offer Jawbone as an example...and EXACTLY like what you’re talking about. Where is that company these days? Oh yeah, BANKRUPT.

How’s Fitbit doing? Oh yeah, sliding down a step slope.

Therefore, YOUR idea of what a pioneering/breakthru product should be is disastrous. Yet, you stand there criticizing the #1 selling smartwatch and literally #2 watch producer in the world (after Rolex). You claim that monitoring/improving your HEALTH, telling time/date, notifications, unlocking your Mac, etc are just not good enough for you. Instead, you want a Jawbone because that is a breakthru product! LOL.

Personally, i use AUTOSLEEP to monitor my sleep...an amazing app IMO. I use Cardiogram, which holds a lot of promise in the future regarding your heart. I use My Rec to record memo or ideas on the go. All pretty damn good 3rd party apps!!

I bring up date and time because AW at the very least can do what a traditional watch can do. Sorry if you miss my point.

Linking to multiple device? How old is Apple Watch? 2 years? Maybe you need to give apple some time to sort out the more complex features? Patience Danielson....

This is because a regular watch is really a bit of jewellery that tells the time. I never got the Apple watch but wanted something for activity tracking specifically and bought a Suunto Ambit instead instead, it does the job nicely has GPS built in and a good battery life. I have a couple of classic watches that i wear normally when not exercising.
Then one shouldn't buy a smart watch when one doesn't need one. Not trying to be rude, but isn't that obvious?

Yes yes yes. All that can be easily accomplished by a smartphone in your pocket, correct?

Isn't this an Apple Watch forum where we are discussing Apple Watch capabilities? The iPhone can certainly accomplish all of those tasks, but the Apple Watch makes it more efficient and a quicker process without having to use your iPhone in every situation. That's the whole point of the Apple Watch, is to create a convenience and a shortcut from your iPhone. Correct?

It's no faster or slower on any device - unless the watch is on a go slow...

Dude, you’re confusing...i have no idea what you wrote OR if you even understood what i wrote.

On another note, have you trade in your Apple Watch for a Jawbone (your dream device) yet?

Workflows are not faster on the watch vs a phone, it's pretty simple really.

lift arm press button twice, move arm to device - pay.
remove phone, put to device, press button - pay..

Answer a call on your watch - other person can't really hear you. So you go looking for phone and take the call.
Navigation - much quicker on the phone, watch only works once you have a destination - and only sometimes.
Email - unless its a basic email, watch is fine to see the header and know "do i want to bother reading the email". Anything else, phone/ipad is just better and with the watch you cant really reply well.
Text - again, unless its a one or two word answer you cant reply "efficiently" it's just quicker to goto the phone and reply mainly due to Siri. Anyone with an accent speaking in another language has little to no chance.

Worked it out yet? AW is just a VERY poor device with very limited software and apps.
Its not even accurate as a health device. So you have to ask, what does it do other other than unlock a mac, reminders and date/time... not much well...!!!!

Your socket set is a tool i agree, but it doesn't work well to cut the grass...
And this tool (AW) doesn't do anything well other than the few things i mentioned.. "Health, unlock a mac, reminders and date/time.." Health is its primary app/feature.

I got bored of my (launch day) Series 0 Watch (42 SS WSB) but I suddenly realised it was because I wasn't using it for what it's fundamentally designed for - fitness. I also realised that said something about my life style. I've now begun to change that, and so the Apple Watch has a brand new use for me.

use mine mostly for reminders, notifications, shopping lists, nav, etc. gets me off my phone a lot and i get less distracted by that whilst checking notifications that aren't important prior to having the watch.

which is more than any traditional watch will do?

seems to be an ongoing thing with so much stuff apple release. people "just buy it " (without thinking) because "omg shiny!" then expect it to solve all their life's problems or give them entertainment or whatever.

most of these products are tools. not everyone needs them. if you don't need or can make use of what a watch, ipad, macbook or whatever can do then i'm sure there will be a level of buyers remorse once the realization sets in.

and yeah, you're not meant to use the watch to replace other devices as an optimal way of achieving a given workflow.

it is primarily for glancing at for tidbits of information. that's it. if this is not something you need, in situations where pulling out the phone is rude, inconvenient, etc. then it will be of limited use.

the fitness thing is another use, sure. but i don't even use mine for that.

i just think perhaps some people are having unrealistic expectations. as you imply, it is limited use and certainly a waste of money for many people. that doesn't make it useless or a pointless device.

Dude, just keep digging....

Yet, you bought one...what does that make you?

Hint: next time, try and do more research into a device to see if it fits your life before buying it...that will save lots of people from hearing your whine constantly.

Answer call? For me, it’s the opposite...people hear me fine...but i have a hard time hearing them unless in quiet environment. So, for me, limited use but does it’s job in a pinch. And i am sure that i will be glad to have it if i am in an emergency situation where the phone is just out of reach.

Navigation...once you have navigation, then yeah, it works 100%. Not sure what you mean “sometimes.” It vibrate differently for each turn and works surprisingly well if you go WALKING. Watch is NOT meant as a 100% substitution for iPhone in this regard...if YOU thought so, then well you didn’t use much thought.

Email...works pretty good for simple things. Of course, if you want to read PDF, then use phone. Again, you need to re-think what you’re writing dude.

Text...use SCRIBBLE if you want to say something else. But for me, i leave my phone in my pocket and read texts. Sometimes, the texts are either not important or no response needed. It saves time from pulling out my iphone.

Accurate as health device? Well, from medical studies etc, it is ranked #1 in accuracy for a wrist device. And in Cardiogram-app study, it was accurate enough to detect atrial fibrillation with over 90% accuracy. Does it cure cancer? No.

Again, dude, stop writing nonsense. You are just pulling crap out of your behind.

BTW, bought a Jawbone yet???? what’s keeping you from doing so?
[doublepost=1499695175][/doublepost]Oh one more thing...Watch is great for screening (spam) calls!!!

Bro' I'm not your dude, but at least you now recognise AP via the watch is not faster or slower

You are the one digging and with the wrong TOOL too. You still can't find or suggest anything useful (despite prompting) with regards to the AW other than the things "I" put forward. So maybe it's just better for you to walk away than keep repeating the same nonsense..

It's a health device in need of better apps and workflows and given the topic creation and the number of people within the topic supporting that view it seems many "owners" are feeling the same. It's just a very poor device, regardless of the colour, the size, the position of the moon or the shape of the screwdriver.

if you're happy with it however - just don't try to convince me.

The only times I don't bother wearing mine are the two days per week I go to the office (no personal gadgets on-site) and when I want to purposely "disconnect" from everything.

I'm so accustomed to it that I now have the habit of checking my wrist for the outside temperature.

I use the timer for laundry and trombone lessons, I rely on its alarm to wake me every morning (the wrist tap is near-infallible), I can guarantee I'll see texts from family members, I skim news headlines while I'm on the can, and I'll get game updates when college football season rolls around again.

And, yes, I log my workouts, and although I don't pore over the data (I never dug into the data I collected with my Garmin Forerunner, either), I enjoy seeing the occasional reward badge.

I may get another strap or two later, but if I'm honest about it, the plain old Sport strap is so comfortable and easy to use, I have trouble justifying any practical reasons for getting more straps.

No boredom here. It's my newest daily-use gadget.

Zero boredom here as well. I wear mine every single day and I usually switch out the bands as well. This device never seems to fade or get old with me. It has so many capabilities and I change the watch faces regularly, it just appears as a new watch to me with The customization. And surprisingly, I get more compliments on my Apple Watch then I do over my other watches I wear.

I sold my S0, must admit I miss it now, hankering after a S2, but wondering should I wait and see about the S3.

I see this is As two ways.

The Series 2 Apple Watch has more than enough capabilities and power to last through at least two/three more versions of WatchOS. If you were truly hesitating and wanting to pick one up, I would highly suggest it. I don't feel The Series 3 Apple (If One launches) Watch will completely debunk the Series 2 with capabilities and be that much different over the current version as of now.

Or, you can approximately wait for the next two months until the September keynote to determine if a Series 3 does launch, which I'm not confident one will and I don't necessarily think it's Apple's goal to update the Watch on an annual basis. Which Leads me to believe the next version of the Apple Watch will launch between March through June 2018, near WWDC.

I agree; I don't think there will be a new watch 'til at least next Spring/Summer and it's likely to merely have incremental improvements to its health capabilities.

I'm less bored with my watch now as I use it daily for health and streaming music (I don't take my phone with me when I exercise).

I took the plunge, just ordered a 42mm SS S2 with white sports band. have a new link bracelet here already, and a Product red band from my last watch, if I had a black and brown leather , Id be fully kitted out.
