That is ridiculous, I think I paid $800 for my iPad 3 less than a year ago, and I have only touched the thing like twice. What a jip.

...maybe a dozen times...but still, I find myself on my Macs much more than any of my iOS devices...

And seriously, yes, the 64GB iPad 3 on AT&T was an $800 device, actually more like $929 when ordered from Apple...so selling it for $350 is a slap in the face...it even has my name on the back!!

Wow. This gazelle thing is a shameless rip-off.

Selling to re-sellers tends to be a bad idea unless there is good reason to, reminds me in part about some show that has people taking in valuable items to a pawn shop. NO! You sell to a buyer directly, a Pawn show has to make a profit thus they will lose money. If I had a ten thousand dollar item I am not going to sell it for four thousand to a rep-seller.

So I hit up Gazelle, went through, saved my quote, activated my account ... and I have a $4xx offer sitting in my current offers for my 32GB 3rd Gen.

Until they get it and decide that it's not 'flawless' as you said and per the terms can knock the offer down. They know that most folks will take the reduced offer rather than demand the item back cause they will decide it's just not the worth the fuss.

Gazelle is just a virtual pawn shop. You can't expect to get the real value from them because they're a re-seller. Most people are just too lazy to try and sell it themselves so they go with the easy option.

I always sell my electronics on Craigslist and usually get 90-100% of my listed price. If I know it's an item people will want to haggle on, I increase the price a little to give some wiggle room.

Sold mines today for $350 - 16GB Wifi. Not too bad since you can buy the same model for $379 in the refurb store.

But $250 is a ripoff!

is this just me or the only difference between iPad 3 and iPad 4 is... the lightning port !?

And a bumped processor. Perhaps more but I remember those two things.

If that is all then I would rather they do it now instead of waiting another six months and giving us a ***** update then. At least now it is possible they might be working on something more for the spring as well.

That is EXACTLY my concern. I'm sure the revised offer wouldn't be from the $400 starting point either, they'd say OK, the _current_ offer for "good" condition is $CRAP.

I mean, mine really is immaculate, but all it takes is a "damaged in shipping" claim and I don't really have anyway to refute it. I'd really rather take my chances with Amazon, because at least that's a current offer and we know Gazelle probably isn't happy with offering $150 more Tuesday morning vs. Tuesday afternoon.

See my post (and my own quoted post) above :)

Disagree. CL buyers are the cheapest, flakiest, most aggravating people to deal with. Never again.

I've had both experience. Some very nice buyers and some really annoying low ballers who are rude.

Then there's the person who offered me a lizard for a computer. No two lizards for a computer.

if anyone is mad about this upgrade just imagine how pissed they'll be when the ditch their 3 for a 4, and then the 5 gets the huge GPU and overall design bump that this one didn't get. (i.e. mid-cycle updates are usually pretty meager in comparison to the yearly). Yeah, it may be a year from now, but right now only the 1 is really showing its age, and I still have one child using it daily that can hardly care...

this weekend on ebay i got $260 for my ipad version 1 wifi only and smallest memory.

hollllaaaaaaaaaaaa

I made an offer the day before the announcement and got $100 more...So $400 for my 32GB iPad. Just sold it on Craigslist for $450 though.

I have a friend that traveled to Argentina to sell his iPad. He posted an ad on a local website and sold it for U$S 1300 (iPad 2 WiFi). He works for Delta, so he had free tickets.

Im planning on doing this, since im also going there on vacation.

It's shocking to know that I will get 3x more than what I paid for.

I recommend this to anyone going on vacation overseas.

Simply nuts.

My iPad 2 does everything I need it to. I never saw the need to upgrade to a 3, and the new iPad falls into the same category.

After paying close to $900 for the iPad listed in my sig plus applecare+ it is a little disappointing to see that I can only get roughly $400 back from a 7 month old device.

I was able to sell my 2 year iPhone 4 for $260. Thats only a $140 difference for two completely different experiences. What a shame. Still feel like Apple burned us. I guess I'll be smart with my money and wait two years from my purchase date to see what is out then.

you bought a $900 ipad you lose from the beginning

Overseas anywhere??

Overseas anywhere??

No, I guess not everywhere.. I was checking out this website mercadolibre.com.ar.. It's sort of ebay-ish looking, and the average price for used iPads are in the U$S1000 range. Looked at the brazilian version of the website, and iPads there go for U$S900 (Im talking about 16gb and 32gb wifi only models, the ones with cellular are WAAAAY more expensive).

It's better to sell your product yourself in ebay to consumer in Brazil. Apple sells iPad in Brazil starting at $1549 16GB wifi only.
