iPhone 12 Apple Leather Case Corners Popping Off: How Common is this Issue?

Why live with a defective product you aren’t happy with? That doesn’t make sense.
Because I am tired of sending back products knowing I will most probably receive the same thing. And as I said it is very intermittently happening. If it becomes more of an issue I will exchange it... And these days unfortunately I am mostly staying home due to the lock down situation 😔🤬

I didn’t want to post in that thread and clutter it with my post, but I’m really interested in seeing production dates on the “better” fitting cases. Good idea in starting that thread.
Oh I like it a lot actually, I was just momentarily bummed that it didn't match the poppy band. I have a knockoff kumquat band that matches it perfectly so it's all good
I wish I'd have checked the build date on the case I returned though, I like this idea of tracking dates/quality. My guess is the first batch was rushed hence all the problems.

I can confirm this is happening to me with the apple leather case for the 12. Corners keep popping out, I usually put the phone in my pocket with the screen facing outwards, that might be the issue but again never had this problem with the apple leather case for the XS and it should not be an issue for a case of this price. I will return it and try my luck with another one.
btw I got the case from Amazon and contacted apple with the issue just to see if they had some knowledge about this issue but their answer was to contact Amazon for a return

Not sure what you expected from a light coloured case.
People keep saying "fits snug", "perfect fit", yada yada. Yeah, mine fits very snug and looks like a perfect fit too, but corners still pop off in my pocket if I'm wearing non-stretchy pants (jeans or khakis, not gym shorts) and it's in my pocket with the phone screen facing out.
I would be interested to know if anyone who has experienced the issue and puts the phone in their pocket screen facing out has received a replacement that doesn't have the issue. Until then, I'm assuming this is a design flaw and that all have the issue, but some people won't notice because they either wear loose clothing or don't put their phone in their pocket with the screen facing out.

Interesting about the animation being color matched- I have a black that I bought for my 12 Mini, and when I popped it on the phone the animation was green.
Let me ask a stupid question...does the magnets on the phone help it attach to the apple leather case better (not at the corners obviously)?
Mine fits perfect as well, but same issue with screen facing out. Not always, but typically. I fixed the design flaw by having the screen face in. Haven’t had a problem since.
My Baltic Blue is behaving the same. Left top and bottom corner popping out. Bought it from Amazon.
I returned it. I keeps popping out and it's driving me crazy. I'll explore third party options or get the silicone case.
I’ve had my leather poppy for over a week. No problems. It’s not even dirty like the guy above after 10 days. I’m happy.
I think I will return mine. It is weird because it is actually hard to manually try to remove the case, but then again it keeps happening randomly when pulling the phone out the pocket. I also wonder if the case is putting some stress in the volume or power buttons when popping out
