iPhone X, XS and 11 Pro were the best iPhone design ever, I'm willing to die on this hill. 😂
Slightly baffled by these comments. I’ve never met one person in conversation that doesn’t think the current design with straight edges (harking all the way back to the iconic iPhone 4), isn’t both I) the most classic/timeless/beautiful design and ii) by far the most ergonomic! The curved edges of say the 8 or 11 looked cheap and ‘Samsung-like’ as well as being like a bar of soap… impossible to hold onto! Having flat/squared off edges doesn’t ‘dig into your hand’, it allows u to actually grip it!Such a bad bad thought here.
The best smartphone design has rounded corners and the display fills all of the front. Your idea that it loses pixels is nonsensical. It actually loses pixels by not going into curved corners. And if you don’t use curved corners then you have an INSANELY uncomfortable device with sharp corners that dig into your hand.
Terrible idea on your behalf.
Moreover, the devices should have rounded edges like the iPhone X which was the epitome of smartphone design in both beauty and ergonomics.
A human hand is ergonomically rounded. It’s why intelligent humans made door knobs rounded, a steering wheel rounded, a broom handle rounded, and anything else you can think of.
No, more like Apple Watch 8 and before concept. The Ultra is very much like the iPhone 12-14 design with a flash screen edge-to-edge. Which is one of the reasons it quickly became my favorite AW ever.So basically it’s Apple Watch Ultra design language.
The iPhone 15 Pro models will have thinner, curved bezels compared to the iPhone 14 Pro models, potentially resulting in an Apple Watch-like appearance, according to the leaker known as "ShrimpApplePro."

ShrimpApplePro clarified that the next-generation "Pro" iPhone models will still have flat displays, since only the bezels are to be curved. According to a source speaking to the leaker, this combination of slimmer bezels and curved edges could result in a look similar to the Apple Watch Series 7 and Series 8.
The curved front glass will purportedly also be present on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus's design, but these devices will not have thinner bezels compared to their iPhone 14 predecessors. ShrimpApplePro added that the iPhone 15 lineup will feature the same display sizes as last year's iPhone 14 lineup.
Last year, the leaker was among the first to say that the iPhone 15 Pro models will have a titanium frame with curved rear edges. ShrimpApplePro has developed a good track record for revealing accurate information about Apple's plans, so their claims are worth taking seriously.

Which is funny since Samsung is finally moving away from it on their S phones this year.If they make something like Samsung phones curving I will puke.
I wish yiuI wish the iPad Pro had smaller bezels!

So Apple would just switch it up every few years to make the design look outdated? Makes sense… for a fashion accessory… 😎
Why even bother. 99% of people slap a protector on there. For all I care a phone shouldn’t even have a back panel, let alone curved edges.
If you think about it, it's a pretty common strategy to build your premium products using more premium methods. Why does no one call out apple for having thicker bezels on their non pro products? It’s such a tacky way to make something look less premium
Won't they think of the precious, lost pixels! 🥲The curved corners are still horrible. A display should always be rectangular, because most content is rectangular. A curved corner throws away pixels. That strange idea came many years ago, when some smartphone makers were proud that they can built displays that are not rectangular. The result are rounded corners, nodges, circular holes and "dynamic islands". Is it too much to ask that every row of a display has the same number of pixels?
However...Such a bad bad thought here.

As far as we know, marketing hasn't decided on a name yet. It’s called iPhone 15 Ultra for a reason…like Ultra (insert feature/price).
Your Ultra is closer to the iPhone 14 design while the new design seems like the regular watches. This is good if it happens I love my Apple watch ultra screen
iPhone X = smooth back glass which is far more grippy than the matte glass.However...
The iPhoneX's smooth rounded shape is more slippery in the hand than the iPhone 14 so you can securely hold the latter with a lighter grip.
Unless you balance your phone's back on your fingertips, the sides are what dictate how slippery the iPhone feels. The back of the phone rarely touches the palm of my hand.iPhone X = smooth back glass which is far more grippy than the matte glass.
As you just said, the flat sides provide a better grip, and you don't have to grip the flat sides as tightly which improves ergonomics. And the rounded edges are far more comfortable so in this case ergonomics is better than the negligibly better grip of the square edges that cut into a user’s hands...
