These photos suck--they must have been taken with an iPhone ;)

But yea, I'm also thinking a lot about black vs. white...for my iPhone, that is. I think black is more classic "nice" looking, but white is iconic Apple. Also, the white won't show fingerprints as much like others have said.

Hmm, decisions decisions...

Invisible Shield and similar won't show any fingerprints. It's a no-brainer. With it on, the black will always look nice.

The fingerprints should not effect your decision of what color to buy. Are you going to hold your iPhone with gloves or something?

I think you meant "should not affect...."

The white looks too feminine.

You mean, like the (millions of) white iPods we all had? And white MacBooks? And AirPorts? And Time Capsules?

Yeah, ok. White is too feminine.... Keep repeating that to yourself -- while I enjoy my white iPhone that hides those ridiculous smudges.

Excellent points...

Maybe it's because of the fingerprints but it looks awfully cheap and plasticky compared to the 2G model... will be interesting to see the thing in person.

Obviously Fake

The image isn't real.

#1 - Fingerprints don't exist.

#2 - There are no Apple workers unboxing the phone, as seen here:

I want to know if the speakerphone is actually usable now!!!! Hopefully those posters will say something about it in Portuguese which I cannot read and, thus, won't know if they ever do, and then will ultimately wait until I get it on Friday. Still, speakerphone blows right now, I need a good one! Come on Apple....

16 GB black iPhone and a nice case for me on Friday, please.

I'm still a little up in the air about upgrading, but let's face it, when Friday gets here, I'm not going to be able to resist much past past Noon.

With the new, curved backside - I'm wondering how well this thing sits on a table top. And how well it sits when touching the screen (wobble?).

If you watch the guided tour video on apple's site you can see that it sits flat on the table.

I don't see why everyone is so worried about the fingerprints on the black version, I mean how hard is it to wipe it on your shirt every once in a while? Plus, you hardly ever see the back because whenever you use the iPhone your hand covers nearly the entire back on the phone.

Actually, I went to Fnac yestarday, and the iphone mock up they are using is the normal one with the metal back :D hilarious.

An iPhonePortugal forum user (via Engadget) has posted the first photos of the iPhone 3G being unboxed. It appears the unit is one of the demo units supplied to stores. According to the poster, the internet speed is quite good and the App Store is not yet online.

The first of the demo units are said to have been arriving at AT&T stores as early as today.

holy-grossness batman! look at all that grease on it! quick, pass me my white 3G so i don't have to see this anymore!!!

Only a few days left now :D

Personally I would have preferred a Matte finish to the back - similar to that of the 1st Gen iPhone I have sitting in front of me. It would have stopped finger prints, which seems to be a big issue, and I think would have made it look nicer.

Oh well I can't wait to get the two I have on order, and the best part is MobileMe should be up and running tomorrow too :)

EDIT: I am kind of annoyed there is no dock included, but oh well I'll just buy one when I pick up my phone I suppose.
