I'm sorry, but given most of the hardware is unchanged from an overhaul-in-technology perspective (e.g. this isn't first year for dual-lense camera on the Plus model), I would find it extremely irresponsible of Apple to have either 8 or 8 Plus supply this year.

We can make this argument about almost any year over year upgrade. But what about those upgrading from two or three years back? Not everyone on the planet if on the same generation cycle. There will always be 10's of millions of people looking to upgrade from phones two years old or greater.

Also, I think its a bit short sighted to say the hardware is unchanged. This isn't the first year a single lens camera on the non-plus model either. There are plenty of upgrades from the 7 to 8 that people coming from older models would like.

Wanna see who's the first brave one to get an 8 instead of the brand new X.

Only incentive here (7 Plus) is if Verizon runs another trade-in deal like last year, which gave something like $650 trade-in value, but applied monthly against device payments. Can't beat that to stay current.

also, what's the big deal about wireless charging? I honestly don't get it. As it is today, it only charges if it's sitting on the charging pad. That's seems more inconvenient then plugging it in! At least when I plug it in i can still hold it up and use it. Now if there was a larger distance like 10 feet, then we'd be talking

I need to replace my aging 5S, but don't want the iPhone X (I don't like the screen with that notch on top + and don't feel like taking a risk on new tech of Face scanning), so here I come iPhone 8!

Fingers crossed AT&T has that promo again this year

Thanks but no thanks. Looks outdated now. And iPhone X to expensive. So I wait a few years.
Honestly, by looking at IPX and ip8 or plus, it does makes it ip8 and plus version outdate, doesn't it? With those exclusive features...

So why all the haters on the iPhone 8? I'm moving from a 6 to an 8. There's no point in just getting a 7 when I can get a better processor and wireless charging.
The question is: why do you care about the "haters?" They're just sharing their opinion/rant. It's a forum.

has anyone actually realized that the iPhone X is more expensive than both the iPad Pro and a MacBook air. i'm not saying people won't still buy it, but wtf?
The air is an old outdated piece of garbage. Apple sells it simply as a cheap option for those who want an apple logo on their laptop.

Serious question, can Apple recognize revenue from a sale if they don't deliver the actual product (ie - if it's backordered)? I would think there's going to be a ton of orders and only a few phones to go around.

They don't hit your credit card unless it ships, so I don't think it will affect their revenue figures.

They can tout their 'we sold 10 million in one weekend' thing that they do on Mondays.

$1000 is 42% more than $700.

no doubt i'm getting the iphone x, but there people out there that can afford an iphone 8 but not an iphone x

And There are those who can't afford an iPhone 8 either, but some still find a way to upgrade. It's just a matter of how badly somebody wants something. Even if it's $1000 iPhone X, someone will manage to find a way to purchase it. But some don't consider (Or care) debt to income ratio.

Honestly, while I am considering buying the iPhone 8 or 8 Plus, the thought of just hanging on to my 6S Plus is starting to take root. I just feel like Apple is trying to fleece us for even more money. I can already imagine the Qi Pad being about $199.

I had big expectations for a decent small phone. Now I'll hang on to my iPhone 6
