Pros: No more "When is the iPhone Going to Verizon" threads, including this one.

Of course we mac fans will fixate on another unattainable feature :D

as a feature, you'll not be able to talk on the phone and surf/find something on the web, as the commercials go ;)

None, except in this forum there will be less naggers about no iPhone on Verizon. Overall it would suck because we would be blasted with questions why my buddies AT&T serviced iPhone can call and surf while mine on Verizon can't.

The biggest pro is that it would take strain off AT&Ts network.

The second is that prices could possibly drop, although unlikely.

One pro I could see if AT&T would finally start putting out the same type of promotions on their smart phones as Verizon does. Verizon would put the iPhone onto a BOGO plan like they did with all their other smart phones. This would force AT&T to make a lot of their smart phones BOGO as well.

I say this as some one on AT&T right now who does not want an iPhone but it would be nice to see get a better deal on my blackberryy or a future android phone.

It would be nice but I dont think we will see an iphone or any Apple product in a BOGO promotion.

This thread can be helpful.

I'm not an AT&T fan but I DO appreciate my service (as a whole) Customer service is very important, as well as valued customer perks.

So I ask what would be the advantages/Pros if the iPhone goes to Verizon in the future?
If there's a significant change, I'll probably move my family plan over there.

***Please don't bring up coverage. . . it honestly depends on where you are and some people drag out the AT&T "No coverage" thing.

Verizon has more customers than AT&T.

I think he meant people would leave ATT and it would be better for ATT users because there would be less people to clog up the network.

The only con is you cant talk and surf at the same time

jav6454 might go insane and die. He hate Verizon and does not want them to get anything good.

Sorry just too tempting jav6454. I know it is just Verizon you hate. I willing to be jav6454 would be ok with Sprint getting the iPhone just not Verizon

Edit: can we close this now? While we're at it, close the Pros as well.

Oh yeah, that's true.

Somethings gotta give though. . . one phone is going to have to feature the other doesn't. I just want to know the Pro's of going to V and leaving At&t.

Merge them and save for posterity.

No, his head would explode:

Only in the Apple world are less options better:

-I'd never use flash, therefore I hope the iPhone never gets it.
-I'm happy with AT&T, therefore I hope Verizon never gets the iPhone.
-I don't use MMS, therefore I'm happy Apple didn't include MMS as a feature.

The only con I can thnk of, and to me it's a huge one but NOT a deal breaker is, Verizon's pitiful IN STORE customer service. I've experienced this in Binghamton, Syracuse, Albany and ELmira, so I know it's not just my local stores. It just takes FOREVER to get service there as the waits are unbearable.

WIth AT&T with me, at least locally, with maybe on average 75% of the customers in the store, the wait times are MUCH less.

That said, VZW gets the iPhone and I switch in a hearbeat olnly because of the better coverage. It's not horrible in my area, but a tad weak in my apartment vs VZW, and some areas I frequent locally MUCH worse than ATT and even some zero bars areas.

The only con I can think of is that if it's a CMDA only phone. That would cause problems for me traveling internationally where the current GMS iPhone is useful. Hopefully it would have both CMDA and GMS radios.

Oh and you wouldn't be able to use data and voice at the same time (unless Apple and Verison figure out a workaround for this limitation).

While true, I could honestly care less about Apple iPhone going BOGO or not as I honestly do not care for the iPhone to be my phone. I have my iPod Touch. I like my phone and my media device to be separate. Plus the iPhone has a lot of issues in the cell phone department that I can not stand.

Either way I am just saying the iPhone is not for me. What I am saying is for selfish reasons it would make the phones I do like cheaper and hopefully make the plans I like cheaper due to the force competition from Verizon. I like ATT for my cell phone carrier and they work great for me. Now I just want the phones I want to be cheaper.

In about 1 year I will be able to upgrade my phone and if it is BOGO I will go in with my girl friend and we will buy 2 new blackberries. That or she can get a blackberry and I might get a Android phone.

 So you have AT&T now and would jump on Verizon to get the iPhone? You have Verizon now and are worried about traveling with a CDMA phone?

If you're on AT&T now with the iPhone why not just keep the iPhone if you travel and port your number to to Verizon and pick up a second (CDMA this time) iPhone.

If you're currently on Verizon and just want the iPhone to come to you, what do you do for travel now?
