Do you have the Crashguard or the Mod? I believe the Mod is the one that’s not yet readily available.
Don’t know about the Mod. I bought the black Crashguard, I prefer my cases in one piece for integrity. RhinoShield site still showing black and white Crashguards slow to ship compared to navy blue and red but I think blacks are improving since it took two days to ship.

Thanks for you're reply! Is this bumper bulky? How do you think the size is compared to the Apple silicone case?
I’ll find out tomorrow! As much as I want to go back to bumpers, I think I might just keep the Apple leather case (I bought to wait for the Crashguard) as a spare.

Anyone have a thanotech coupon code? Please message it to me if you have one. Thanks!

Just got the Rhinoshield Bumper. Pretty nice.

The buttons are nicely done unlike their older version.

Pictures please!!

I just removed the carbon fiber back from my order (which is apparently backordered) and it’s gonna ship today or tomorrow. Finally. Guess I’ll deal with the clear back for now.

The ThanoTech K11 bumper is a great design, but the buttons are stiff, even after some use.

I’m considering the RhinoShield CrashGuard or the Mod. The Mod appears more refined than the CrashGuard, which is nice. But the rear insert for Mod insert makes it thicker depth wise compared to the CrashGuard. Which one is better as bumper only? I want a plain and simple bumper so leaning towards the CrashGuard...

Just popped in my black Crashguard. Not bulky and brings out its beauty. I like it!
  1. Comfortable to hold? Yup. Smooth matte finish.
  2. Slippery? Pretty slick, probably slicker than the Apple leather case. But I’m sure there’s enough grip with the matte finish and a bit of texture on the side (RhinoShield logo, buttons, cutouts).
  3. Design.
    • Installation/Removal. Easy install but removal was impossible when following box instructions. I recommend following a new YouTube video on how to install/remove on RhinoShield’s channel.
    • Buttons. All buttons are loose, you can hear it when you tap on them. I hope it doesn’t come off over time.
      • Volume. Nice feel, audible click.
      • Side button. It works but it’s a bit soft for me (the side button itself was soft already but the case didn’t help), therefore requiring a little more effort to click. Barely audible click.
    • Adequate lip all-around. The exposed back allows improved wireless charging in my car (I actually lost 1% when using the Apple leather case). However, I’m a bit worried on the clearance available (about 1mm) for the rear camera housing in the event of a drop.
    • Adequate cutouts overall. Very little play on the sides, reducing dust ingress. Might be an issue for dbrand users. Mute switch is slightly off centered (to make room/stability for volume buttons), a non-issue.
    • Lanyard friendly.
    • Dimensions.
      • Length, at the longest point (lightning port), is about 5.875in (149mm)
      • Width is 3in (76mm)
      • Depth is 0.39in (10mm)

I also Like the Crashgurad, The buttons are very clicky and love the fact i can change the color of the buttons. I think they've resigned the bumper and it feel way slimmer than the old one on my iPhone 7.

I am also waiting for my Mod

It’ll be cool to compare the Mod and the Crashguard to see if there’s much of a difference.

This is very useful review if you're considering Rhinoshield. He talks about the diffferences between the mod and crashguard around 4 minutes in.

I’ve been in constant contact with ThanoTech about the stiff buttons on the silver K11 bumper. They been getting the same feedback from others. They are getting replacements in 7-10 days and will be sending the improved ones out to the affected people. Works for me!

Please keep us updated. Honestly the buttons on my case have definitely gotten better with use so I’m not even sure I’d ask for a replacement. But if the difference is very noticeable why not.

On another note I gave the back protector another shot. It took a night for it to completely adhere but it’s good now. Overall I’m happy with the bumper. Loving the look and feel.

My buttons are still stiff, even after regular use. Apparently the silver bumpers were the affected ones. That’s what I have.

The ThanoTech back protector is decent, just wish it was edge to edge, but hey, some protection is better than none at all.

I see. I have a silver one for my wife but she won’t use it as she says it’s not enough protection lol.

Are you using the ThanoTech screen protector? Tempted to try it out but it’s pricey.

Are you going to return the silver bumper?

No screen protectors for me, just a back protector sometimes.

I just received my black k11 bumper. Looks and feels amazing in the hand. Way better than the first generation I had backed on kickstarter. However the power button is extremely mushy and the volume buttons are almost impossible to press. I sent them a message in hopes they figure it out.

For now I’d try taking the bumper off and pressing the buttons repeatedly to try and break them in. This did loosen them up a bit for me. While still stiff definitely an improvement. For me it’s gotten a little better over the last couple days of usage. Still though not as easy to press as my Apple silicon case.

That’s exactly what thanotech told me to do as well. It helped but they are still extremely stiff. I can’t do simple tasks like taking a screenshot. What a shame because this bumper looks and feels perfect.
