Ticketmaster handles tens of thousands ticket requests at once without giving errors, etc. Their queue system is actually pretty good.
Everything seems snappier on Apple's site but it's still taking forever accessing AT&T account information... we'll see...
Nothing's going to happen until ATT fixes their system. The Apple system must access ATT to determine eligibility when calculating the price for you, so...if the ATT system is down, Apple can't do anything.
I'm giving up for now. Gonna go watch the Portugal vs. Ivory Coast World Cup game, hopefully things calm down by the time it's done.
After 2 hrs, finally got progress but AT&T bill was past due. Took care of that just, now have to go thru the endless loop. Haha... I think I should just wait until tomorrow. 
You can't be serious can you? Have you ever tried to buy tickets to a popular show? When buying lady gaga tickets for NYC a few months back I was in the same type of mess with ticketmaster as I'm currently having with Apple/AT&T.
Umm... I just got through for in-store pickup and it never asks for my name or anything else but says to bring a valid government-issued ID with me. What the hell?
Weird, I have bought tickets to a ton of concerts and basketball playoffs, I get thrown into a huge queue but never get errors.
So if we order the phones at any point in time today, are we still guaranteed it's delivered on the 24th? I am thinking about waiting until later today, but i dont want to risk not getting the 24th if i wait too long and all the supply is already spoken for.

I ordered my 3GS two or three days after pre-orders started last year, and low and behold, I still got my phone on the release date.This release isn't any crazier than last year, or the year before, or the year before...
Literally just now got finished on att.com ordering two 32gb. Took a long time, very, very slow, and now I can't get back in to make any adjustments to my account (added my wife to my account with a new Iphone and wanted to change to a family plan. Later, I guess.) Took 90 minutes to get to this point (following a previous 45 minutes earlier this morning,) but what a relief now . . .
Anyone see the gizmodo story that apparently users are now reporting that going to the AT&T website will sometimes log them into random people's accounts that are not their own...and then they have access to all of that person's information? AT&T screwed the pooch big time on this one...I really, really, really, really want someone there to get fired over this.

Now when trying to go to apples site to preorder, it says the webpage is not available. so screw it, i'll wait until later.
Now I am getting the spinning wheel as soon as I click the radio button next to replace an existing iphone or whatever
Don't worry, it won't. I got to checkout and it was the wrong address so I had to change my AT&T billing and start over.
Has Ticket Master ever gotten 100,000+ orders for a Celtics game at the same time?
