Ugh, T-Mobile's network upgrade to support 3G/4G on the iPhone can't come soon enough. Once this is done they will be the major carrier of choice with that $59.99 value unlimited talk/text/2GB data plan ($69.99 for fully unlimited data/text/talk).

Well, they want multiple lines, not single ones. That's why you can get 10 lines on one plan now. Add a hotspot, add a home phone, add a tablet... They are making three times as much on their 4G network as they were on their 3G one, so yeah, they want you on the new plans especially with multiple lines. "Why give away $ if you don't have to," is their reasoning for not being forthcoming about the new plans.

And with the 65+ plans, I've never seen an ID check on the Internet. ;)

Lol :D
There's also deaf and mute plans too, lets not try to go there though:D

They don't check and they don't care. DADT. Get it?

They do check and they want proof as a copy of your licence or state ID.
And Im sure people rather not commit fraud to have a phone plan they can afford.
And offcourse if all of a sudden they get tons of 65 year year olds joining online claiming they're seniors you can bet they will verify it.

Yes, your numbers are off or the spreadsheet on that site is off or mispresent the real share plans offered right now.
Neither carriers offer a 1GB data plan account.

Well if you don't trust Cnet...

Ok, I found it on verizons site the 1GB data plan for an individual.
When I go to AT&T's site and I select the iphone they dont offer the 1GB plan.
Weird.
Or maybe its still early and didnt fully roll out the plans to the public?

Talk to an Authorized Agent. I promise they don't check and they don't care. It's like ordering a Happy Meal for yourself. It's not fraud. :)

New VZ customers minimum for an iPhone right now is $59.99:

$29.99 for 200 min on 65+ plan
$30.00 for 2 GB data

The $100 minimum mentioned in this thread is ridiculous and untrue. VZ reps will try to get you on the new plans, sure. But if you have a clue what you're talking about you'll be fine.

Edit:

You can also do unlimited talk & text with 300mb data for $70 on the new plans, if that's the route you're going for...

That might help me in 25 years, not today.

Why are you listing websites other than the carrier's site?

Lol, you need to check your definition of fraud.

 Plans are plans people. Call Verizon and ask them to do it. I know for a fact they allow it. If you can't manage a 5 minute phone call, then add $10 to the plan for 450 minutes and 2GB for $69.99.

I know, just was giving you a hard time brotha ;)

Last time I tried that on AT&T the lady told me I need to prove to her Im a senior citizen.
Either way what you're suggesting is questionable and not everyone wants to take a risk, lie and deceive a company in order to pay less.

Nah, that's still $15 more than the current $45 Straight Talk unlimited talk/text/2GB data (a.k.a. "unlimited") plan .

T-Mobile's most interesting offer is the Walmart special $30 100 min. talk/unlimited text/"unlimited" data plan (throttled after 5GB).

When T-Mobile refarms their 1900MHz network spectrum to HSPA+ in my area, I will investigate using their $30 plan. Until then, forget it. I want something better than EDGE speeds.

In all honesty, I really wish AT&T would bring back data packages to their GoPhone Pay As You Go plans. I'm not using that much cellular data, and I could still get by with paying $12-14 per month on average.

Where did you come up with these plans?
Are 1GB data plans available?
I don't see those listed anywhere.

Here you go on Verizons site.....

Where are you finding that 450 nationwide plan? I don't see it anywhere on the Verizon page when you order. Can you post a link? Might only a location specific thing?

Here's the link to the page

I've tried using zip codes from 20 different states and they all offer me the individual plan option.

Now if only we lived in a place where people could be called out for their bad attitude and NOT have people click the "report post" button on the person who is giving them the answer they so angrily demand. 'Tis a sad sad world we live in.

I'd rather have the OPTION to add texting and not be forced to charg an extra $30 for it

Besides who in their right mind would pay for text messaging instead of Google Voice or the many other free options out there?

I've been to the Verizon site three times already in the last hour. Not a chance in hell of a new customer somehow getting 450 minutes + 2gb data + 1000 txt for $80.

Who? Me. B/c I have buddies on dumb phones and Android phones. I have to have the txt plan.

they get a little more money out of you but its almost a wash for me on a family plan. The difference with 2 phone and 4Gb is $2.

That's like me bitching that I have to pay for 700 minutes that I don't use (my wife and I use maybe 200 mins a month). But ya know what? That's the plan and it is what it is.

I would rather have vzn, but not at those prices. I'm on an AT&T family plan, but since not all of our contracts are up at once, we'll never be able to leave en masse, and any one person leaving on their own is too expensive (my share of the bill, with effectively unlimited everything, is about $55 vs $100 to go it myself on Verizon with less data). So we'll all stay despite not really liking AT&T.

... Hey, their plan is working perfectly!

Straight Talk. $45/month for talk, text and data. There's no way in h%&$ that I would pay $70-$100 a month for a cell phone. That's just crazy.
