Why wouldn't they wait till WWDC in June to release said MacBook? People are still excited about the MacBook Air, and the people I've spoken to would buy it over the current 13" Pro. No reason to squash all the enthusiasm for it. Lots of people are replacing their older 13" MBPs with the new MBA.
They’ll probably announce their switch to ARM strategy at WWDC. If they release the MBP, it would look like they don’t know what they’re doing. If they release it in May, they’ll get the orders going before people start thinking about withholding orders and waiting for ARM.

I'll throw my hat into the ring. Upgradeable to 32GB RAM and 2tb storage.

$1499 - MBP 14" (2 TB Ports)
i5, 8gb, 512

$1799 - MBP 14" (4 TB Ports)
Faster clocked i5 (w/ better graphics), 16gb, 512

$1999 - MBP 14" (4 TB Ports)
i7 (is there a hexacore variety?), 16gb, 1tb

The base model of MBP used to starts at $1199 and there is no reason to hike the price by $200 and the CPU improvement is so bad.

Realistically, the base model of 14” MBP price will keep at $1299

I don't get why everyone is bashing on Jon Prosser.
He does act as a YouTube personality, but corroborates much of his info with a plethora of legitimate inside sources. He's new to the Apple scene but has ridiculously good track record of original (and very specific) leaks. Internal documents, project development, release dates... they've almost all come to par. This guy is on a different level.

When the SE 2020 does come out on April 14th/15th like he's been saying, and not on the 3rd or 6th like other sources have been reporting, he'll be rolling over laughing ;)

Why don't we bash crap tech channels like Simple Alpaca who post awful clickbait? Or Forbes who reposts the same article of "New Incredible iPhone Details Revealed" every friggin other day?

I just want the 14” display and new keyboard. Hopefully either Ice Lake or AMD 4000 for the CPUs. Comet lake doesn’t have the GPU performance. Ice lake has less cores (4 core 8 thread) but that’s plenty for most people coming from any other 13”. My 12” MacBook still does just fine I’m just tired of the bezels and dim screen for outdoor use.

For me it’s about productivity. I use the internet a lot, stream a lot, listen to music, and frankly just like the OS and build quality. I travel for a living so it’s either this or I’m switching to a Thinkpad. Not everyone is a “content creator” and most of them can use the 16” with dedicated graphics. Give me my premium feeling 14” and I’ll give you my wallet, deal?

Agreed, the bezel is less symmetrical on 13”, 16” MBP and Apple need to rectify it.

Look, I get that hating on this guy because he’s a YouTuber is the cool thing, but the truth is, he has been pretty accurate the last couple months. Especially with Apple leaks. And he has said that he doesn’t release any details unless all of his sources confirm it.
He said the new iPads would launch the same week that they did, he said the night before they launched that it was going to happen, he said that Apple would be holding WWDC virtually a week before Apple announced it, he has the dates for WWDC which are assumed to be accurate, and so far he’s been correct about the dates for the iPhone SE. Obviously anything could happen in the next week, but it was no update last Friday, there hasn’t been anything today, and he is still saying that it’s either April 14 or April 15. Those still seem the most likely. So rather you agree with this guy or not, I believe him

Oh I forgot to mention, last year we got the leaks for the iPhone 11 camera system in January, but this year, he said they were a couple months behind schedule. And guess what? He just posted yesterday that prototyping is complete for the iPhone 12, and the very next day we get pictures of the new camera system. I don’t think that’s just a coincidence, I truly think that this guy has sources inside Apple.

Actually, he has instituted a toilet paper roll rating system 🤪 for his leaks now. Max reliability is 5 toilet paper rolls. He will post rumours with a rating of less than 5 though.

If the MacBook Air was predicted in the second quarter of 2020 then it wasn’t released “as predicted”. A technicality, a point of it was made in the article.

I'm never buying another laptop with a touch bar. It just needs to go away. It has nothing but negative value for developers. The idea that this fluffy crap gets pushed on us is insulting.
I don't like it either, but the video editors seem to love it.

If it's got a 14" screen I'll be likely getting it, as long as it has a 10th gen processor, faster ram, and awesome graphics power. If not, I'll save my money and get an Air.

If it is a 14" with a 32gb RAM option I'm in. If it is still the 13" with a 32gb RAM option I probably would have got it if it was released in Jan/Feb, but now I'd think I'd wait. If it doesn't have a 32gb RAM option then I'd pass either way.

I can 99 percent say it will have 32GB

if apple refresh the 13'' MBP in next month and Realease 14'' MBP later this year, just like MBP16 last year.......
I really cannot wait more half year, so I wish 14'' MBP will appear in MAY.

I have no interest or need for MacBook pros so I don’t keep up on them, but why is it every time you turn around there’s a new one being released?

I want to replace my 2015 MacBook Pro relatively soon - I will wait unti this update is released to choose between the Macbook Air or this pro. Hell I may even go dual Macbook and get a MacBook Pro 16” and a base MacBook Air for the road.

The rogame leak which gave us the specs of the i5 and i7 28W Ice Lake Chips also mentioned apple adding support for Comet Lake in 10.15.4. Could this mean both Ice and Comet Lake chips. It mentioned a quad core i5 and i7 and a hex core i7

Because pros want the latest technology. Its not as frequent as it used to be:

It could have 32GB, however the 16 inch could also use 128GB but it doesn’t yet. I think it will support 32GB though. It’s going to use Icelake which is 4 cores (unless Intel has made one specifically for Apple), however it’s a different part to the Air’s and will have better cooling. The thing with Apple making the 14 inch have six cores (if it was possible) is that it’s then approaching on the MacBook Pro 16 inch and that’s not what they want. I think if Apple was to put six cores on the 14 inch, there would need to be a 10 core option for the 16 inch (with it starting at 8 cores).

I sincerely hope that Apple's marketing department isn't empowered to arbitrarily gimp the 14" MacBook Pro's capabilities simply to make the 16" more appealing.
