I decided to give the apple SB case a scrub and see what happens. Used a wet green scotch-brite and scrubbed until I see it just starting to turn dark.

In these pics, the dark one is right after drying with a paper towel. The other is after some more drying in the sun for a while...I don't have any leather conditioner on hand but do have a DIY mixture of bee wax and mineral oil for my chopping board...I will rub that on and see what happens after it dries some more

...or you could just buy some leather conditioner? See https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/apple-leather-cases-patina-proud-photos.2091430/post-29621368

I was sure I read that a coconut oil does the trick... I did that on an old leather folio case I had and it looked nice and new again.

I've been lurking on here the past few days. I recently ordered the blue 12 mini. It's my first new iPhone since 2015 and my first new iPhone since college, so I'm excited to protect it well and give it a sophisticated case, and I've been eyeing leather.

I really like the look of the baltic blue Apple case, but it seems the consensus here is that it's just a blue coating over black and doesn't age well, and it seems like saddle brown Apple for 12 also isn't great for aging? Does anyone have a recommendation for a different brand's blue leather cast?

I've also looked at the Nomad natural color, but I haven't seen any pictures yet of that one besides what's on their site, which is obviously meant to look good...

I’ll give you that the new saddle brown is not aging well, but the apple baltic blue i believe is “naturally” aging quite well...

I saw a lot of posts on here it was turning too black on edges, but maybe that was a different blue. It seems like Apple has a few blues.

mine looked a bit black in pics but in person I think its aging decently well especially compared to some other brighter colors

almost got the saddle brown to complement the baltic blue but I think this video talked me out of it. it just looks like crap. not just dark edges, but straight up not good

I dont feel the same way about my aging baltic blue :

No there have been several posts of the baltic blue and and the edges do darken, i think I only remember seeing one in this thread that looks as though it was attacked In much the same manner as the owners of the saddle brown’s, my baltic blue I’m very satisfied with...
