limera1n - ALL 4.1 devices jailbroken!

Hi I am using 4.0.1 with unlock to use non-AT&T sim, just wonder is it confirmed that the 4.1 jailbreak also allows unlock? Just want to make sure that I am safe to upgrade and unlock before doing it. Thanks.

This jailbreak will not unlock your phone. If you have an iPhone 4, just use Tiny Umbrella to update to 4.1, that way you get 4.1 while not updating your baseband. Then just install ultrasnow and you're unlocked.
 
Another success story....

I woke up this morning and after seeing all the news that greenpoison wasn't coming out as planned, I went ahead an used limerain. Worked flawlessly. I used beta 4. iPhone 4, with 4.1 on it, everything stock. Now, with more freedom ;)

Good to hear, any bugs so far? I was going to install it after work tonight but just realized its for windows only. :mad:
 
Umm, anyone else worried about this? From Engadget:

we personally got it working quickly on a pair of iPhones with iOS 4.1... but one of the two was missing icons upon restart and didn't regain App Store, Maps, Game Center and Calendar even after a restore. Be careful, now!

What could cause this? Sure with a Jailbreak bugs are expected, but to lose apps AFTER A RESTORE?
 
Sounds like BS or someone got confused to me. No way iP4 after limera1n could stop apps being installed from a brand new OS install.
 
Can someone please post a link I can read on how to properly upgrade to 4.1 via tiny umbrella so I don't upgrade my baseband.

None so far that I've found. I'm pretty new to jailbreaking too. I've been going through Cydia just browsing all the apps available there. I'm in a whole new world, and I'm not sure what to download first ;)
 
Went really well here with latest iTunes in Win 7 x64 and my iPhone 4. Just restoring cydia apps with pkg backup (my number 1 time saver!)....
 
i used jailbreakme.com on 4.0.1, do i just update phone to 4.1 the use limera1n? or do i need to remove the jailbreakme on 4.0.1 before updating?

i wish .. stupid thing told me i have no internet connection now i lost my layout and everything argh
 
i used limera1n and it said it was done but when the phone restarts there is no limera1n icon or app. i restarted it and there is still none, any help?

So is anyone here willing to do a full restore through iTunes, from a LimeRa1n jailbroken state, to check if Engadget's claims are true or not?
 
I'm undecided too if i should use BETA 4 on my iPhone 4 or if i should better wait for another release ...
Maybe tomorrow we already have BETA 12 lol.

They are not true.

I jailbroke my iP4 with LR beta 2. DL'd some stuff, toyed around with it. Decided I didn't like it and did a restore from the backup I made prior to the JB.

Everything on my phone is fine, no lost apps, etc.

So whats the deal with a locked 3gs?

Will i now (when GP is released) be able to update to 4.1 and keep my curent BB (ultrasn0w compatible)??
 
Need a little advice...

I need a little advice. My wife and I both have iPhone 16GB 3GSs bought within a week of each other in Aug 2009. They are both running v3.1.2 (7D11) iOS and have 05.11.07 baseband (Modem Firmware). I have mine Jailbroken and unlocked with blackra1n and blacksn0w since Sept. 2009 and have never had a problem and Cydia has my blobs. My wife has remained stock and has never Jailbroken her phone for fear it wouldn't be as dependable as she relies on it heavily. I have used Tiny Umbrella to backup her blobs and will Jailbreak her iPhone when I sell it or when she finally gives in. :D

My question is this, what do you think is the best route to take to upgrade both iPhones to v4.1 iOS (there are apps we both want but are only able to run on v4.0 or higher) and still be able to sell our iPhones after our contract expires in March 2011.

I'm not sure (and I really am confused) about what Greenp0ison will bring for 3GS owners with my 05.11.07 baseband (Modem Firmware). I'm willing to give limera1n a try if Greenp0ison leaves me behind.
